Can't help myself ... EVERY TIME i hear this song ... if it is by Wardruna or by a cover band who mean it seriously ... i tear up ... this song hits a certain spot deep inside me ... and it is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for your reaction and your opinion to this video.
This is such an awesome version of this song. I prefer it to the original by a pretty wide margin. I like the harder edge to it, and Katrine's melody for the spoken work section at the end is gorgeous. This cover got them signed to Wardruna''s label. Her voice does have a lot of power. You might try Lullaby (Live at Storas) to hear her really let loose. Like you I don't understand why they aren't a lot bigger, but UA-cam isn't doing them any favors. I search for Kalandra reactions several times a week and I've been doing it for three years now and yet UA-cam never suggests new reactions to me. I only find them through search. I searched yesterday and your three day old video didn''t even come up in the results. It's bizarre. Their blend of Nordic folk inspired, proggy, slightly retro rock with a dark melancholic tone is a bit niche, but I love them for it. Can't wait to hear how they evolve with their second album.
The bow on a guitar is a great sound, but I've also become obsessed with the tagelharpa (another bowed string instrument) this year and wish it was more widespread
Thankyou so much for playing this. I cry when I listen to it. Katrine’s voice….and I love the way this is filmed very close and tight in the frame. Really adds to the atmosphere. Thankyou so much for this. And Katrina is married to the organ player! ❤
Love these guys, and Katrine's beautiful voice! I believe she spent some time with Wardruna, so she's very familiar with this piece. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin was famous back in the day for using a bow on his guitar in some songs, most notably "Dazed and Confused." I think most guitarists these days would probably use the eBow for a similar effect. Troy Donockley of Nightwish does some beautiful playing with the eBow.
Okay finished it all up. Very nice in the entire world of music that I have not entered into before. I do know the name Aurora. I will now be able to check out the others and kind of do a comparison and follow through with some of the things you said different styles and maybe more about exactly what this song is. Thanks again. Very enjoyable. For some of the input you requested... I like the fishy ocean background too... Only thing is that the placement of it it's right up against the video that was playing and it was a little distracting moving around against the music video that I was trying to watch. I don't know if it can be reposition some during the song or what. No biggie just an idea. Also there was some music that I'm not sure where it was coming from. At first I thought it was another video I had playing by accident. It sounded almost kind of ragtime keystone cops style.... Is it already played once somewhere and stopped before I can't really figure out what was where was coming from but at the end after the video it started playing behind you're talking about the video and didn't really go with that very well. It didn't match up with the song you played and I don't think when you're talkin about the video afterwards you needed to have any background music going. I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not .. but new equipment and all sorts of gadgets just thought I'd let you know. See ya later!
Now I'm hogging up all the comments... Sorry. You talking about people complaining about interrupting the song... Ugh... I've heard so many channels talking about people complaining about it. I don't get it... As you said it's a reaction channel. listen to the whole thing through on the artists site and come here to discuss it and look at it more in-depth. People are so weird. Good night. Thanks for letting me rant some too.
To be honest I found her voice to be a bit boring for a good part of this. She sings in 1 monotonous tone, with no nuances. Sorry but not for me. It might just be the song rather than her singing but I just couldn't get into it.

Kalindra is amazing.... Katrine's voice is so good...
I just prefer this version to the Wardruna/Aurora original. Yes, a very different vibe. Looking forward to Kalandra’s second album.
This song brings tears to my eyes. The outtro is so sweet.
I like your new setting. Great reaction to a wonderful performance.

nice cover. beautiful voice. so I suggest you jump into another Kalandra song : Virkelighetens Etterklang
nice one, but try the version by einar selvik, eivor and the danish symphonic orchestra. absolute epic
Love this cover! Have you checked out the music video for ‘Borders’ or ‘The Waiting Game’?
