Hello from germany! As far as I now, Anoana is the protector of nature and everything that lives in it. Ana is the mother of all Celtic god's. I see myself as Germanic, and we love our forests and nature! I belive in the old gods, just because the Church banished them dosen't mean they don't exist! They are still present in our weekdays and holidays! This music is the heartbeat of nature, and we must protect and honor nature! The earth gets along well without us,but we don't get along without the earth! Great reaktion, keep up the good work! Greetings Nephilim 👍

@@suzannemartin776 Hello and thank you for your answer! Unfortunately, people have lost sight of our nature and the raw materials. We live as if there is no tomorrow and we don't give a damn about our offspring! The main thing is us! If this continues, mankind will not exist for long! Greetings and have a nice day!

My dad has a way of explaining his faith, even to the staunchest of evangelicals: your god is unseen, on a cloud away from us. My god gives me the food I eat, shelter to sleep in, fire to warm by, the people I love, and my final resting place. Why would I need your god when they've never given me anything of true worth?
Well, when he's in a good mood... in a bad mood he chases them off with whatever tool he has nearby. Once it was a 1m (3.3 feet if google is right) wrench. Mum had to drag them off property when they just stood there, indignantly saying "are you threatening us?", in the face of a furious bear of a man.
Luckilly it's rare he's mad. Annoyed, peeved, surly? Sure. Mad mad? Like near blind rage mad? Probably thrice in my 40 years of existance.

the story of "Landawaria Anoana" roughly translated "Anoana, Guardian of the Land" it is a story about a shaman born to an eclipse who protects nature and humanity. The story is basically a story of mother nature as far as I'm aware from a time when gods interacted with humanity through nature and omen.

No matter how many times I hear Anoana, it still brings me to tears, the sound, the powerful imagery not only of the dancing and chanting, but the scene of the birth as well. Everything about the video draws me in and fills me with emotions that are buried deep down inside. It forces them to the surface.

Exactly this! It touches something deep within your soul. Something primitive yet poweful enough to mix up your emotions in a way I can't explain it. It's like a call of your ancestry. It grounds you, makes you feel one with earth and nature, makes me connect with the wildlife and appreciate the simplicity of things. I'm literally crying as I write this and having the reaction running in the background.

Regarding you not knowing what they are saying in the lyrics. Fun fact, noone does. not even Heilung. This song consist of texts collected from bracteates: golden, circular amulets found in Northern Europe dating from the first few centuries AD. The bracteates are inscribed with runic script in old germanic/proto norse languages, containing pagan prayers or spells. Heilung has created the lyrics by combining text from such bracteates, but they have intentionally chosen text that we still cannot decipher the meaning of yet.

Great reaction,. Can I just add some points that are important in seeing this? The most important being that the child is born under an eclipse (seen in background several times). According to previking believs they had very special gifts: hamnskifte (= the ability to change appearance), age shift, talking to animals, healing (of the bird) etc The previking time and it's religion in nordic countries is much more female directed than the religion in the later years (viking gods like Tor and Oden... ). Also healing = heilung in the german name of the band. ...and she is born with antlers which scares here moother. Heilung sing in a reconstructed version of the previking proto norse language.... I have posted similar to this post several times but it is necessary to understand...

since you have Cherokee blood and your grandmother teached you things you should have understood what the ox represents. Anoana means "protector of the land" that's her role that's why she was born that way and the ox is a spirit animal that she saw and knew since she was little and the last scene I think represents her merging with the spirit animal or taking his place as protector of the land and of her people. If you notice she was born during an eclipse and the ancient norse people believed those people had powers they could even give life to dead creatures (the dead bird). The female singer Maria Franz (great singer watch In madjan live from Lifa) is from Norway the other members of the band are from Denmark and Germany. She is singing in Old norse (not in her modern language) they use ancient languages like old norse old english and old german and they use acoustic instruments they make themselves like their clothes. The female singer head gear is an almost exact copy of one found in an archeological dig in Sweden and it belonged to a female shaman or seer which is the role she has here. Female seers were very important in ancient nordic european cultures.

Cheers from Sweden. I remember when i first heard their music it was a torch lighted up inside me. I just got mesmerized like if i knew this kind of music. Years before i had become more spiritual with our scandinavian nature feeling more at peace and at home in a deep forest or big mountain overlook. Its like my primal nature wants to break free the bonds we have in our society. I learned alot too by reading about nature "magic" that there exist leylines and especially in forests with old ancient trees. I actually found a place in southern Sweden were old Fagus sylvatica (Bok-träd) made a perfect ring of trees and in that centre if you sit there its like time and space just disappear and you can really go into a resting trance. Great reaction by you and you made me sub my man :). I would probably be called a witch in christian Sweden prior to removal of religious laws :) a few years back lol. Big hug and respect. May i suggest Alfirhadirahti and Krigsgaldr songs to react to :) u are NOT gonne be disappointed dude

It's not surprising that you want some more nature in your life as a truck driver. You're in the cab of a huge machine of man a lot of the time, locked away from the spirit of the earth. It's not surprising you need to get back to that spirit sometimes, especially if you're naturally attuned to nature's music.
If you want something completely different from Heilung, something that gets you riled up and ready to go rather than relaxing you, listen to Alfadhirhaiti from their live performance, LIFA. It'll still put you in a trance, but it's more like a battlefield type trance. You'll really love it I promise.

I saw them live once, either you feel it and just are completely immersed, eyes half closed or clsoed most of the time and jsut swaying, letting your body move how it wants, or you don't feel it and are like 'Yeah, it's okay.' I am definitely in the first category. Looking forward to more great 'Rituals' with these guys. Though I do hope Euzen (the singer's and her husband's first band) produces something new one day. (:

    It's a Norwegian/Danish/German Band which focused on Proto-Germanic Music/folklore.
The term "Germanic" includes first the Scandinavian (North Germanic) area, as well as the West and East Germanic area (Germany, Netherlands, England, Poland down to Austria etc.) and all had the same pagan religion at that time.
This song is sung in Old-Norse, but they also have Songs in German, Gothic and Latin 🙂
Keep up your good Videos, Skål! 🤘
PS: Please keep your respect and love for nature, this is something special nowadays 🌱

Anoana was a very powerful Shaman, born during an eclipse (note the antler buttons on the infant). This is probably set in the beginnings of the Germanic Iron Age (5th - 1st Century BC). The language is as close to ancient Germanic/Gothic as can be expected.

I was new to your channel from the "Hi Ren" reaction. That video earned my like and subscription.
I went back to the beginning of your channel and picked the Aurora reaction. After watching that, and hearing your tastes appreciating it, I immediately had two suggestions come to mind. Heilung and Wardruna.
This is a fantastic song, and it makes me feel much the way you do. Another by Heilung (the one which I started with) is "Heilung | LIFA - Krigsgaldr LIVE" This gives you another sense of them in a live setting versus the video here. Seeing it performed live made it hit that much harder for me.
On that note, I would also strongly recommend Wardruna - Lyfjaberg. It is another very powerful piece which I think you would very much appreciate and enjoy. (There's also a piece where Wardruna features Aurora as well)

A fine reaction to this masterpiece of cinematic story telling. The natural performance of the young girl is particularly astonishing. The spiritual connection that the derided "pagan" religions (in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australia) had/have to the natural world is something that the likes of Christianity and Islam will never get remotely close to.

It's definitely the greatest "experience" of all Heilung songs (besides perhaps "Elivagar") but it doesnt get a lot of exposure, (I think, because even a lot of avid Heilung fans are probably anywhere from almost creeped out to totally terrified of the song.) If you want to "travel" during a song, this one will do it.

Maria positions her body in the shape of each rune as Kai (the shaman) calls them out. One of the most visually stunning things I’ve ever seen.

Yes, Nordic/Germanic. The singer is Norwegian, the band is Norwegian, Danish, and German. That's a Musk Ox at the end, and it is only found in Norway (in Europe).

Is four comments a record? How about another musical rabbit hole? Check out Nightwish, start with Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013. If you do a Nightwish song the Nightwish army will show up and lead you by the hand into the depths.

Two of my coworkers adore this group and got to see them live in Asheville, NC just a few months ago. I never really looked into them until today....and now I'm regretting not seeing them live. They both said it was a full-on religious experience the way people reacted to them live...that it was unlike any live show they'd ever been to.
Tho here's what I'm wondering: This song is SO good, so perfect, I honestly can't imagine how they could have equal or even better stuff. I'm almost scared to delve into their albums for fear that it's all sub-par compared to this song. Can someone enlighten me? Or tell me I'm kinda right? I'm just curious.. lol...

Did you catch how the little girl challenges the beast by doing the rutting motion but is ignored.. Then she does it again as an adult and the beast charges

This song is definitely unique. Definitely a diverse song that many different types of music lovers could respect and appreciate. On this note a song I’d recommend even if it’s in your own time since it’s a song that’s a few years old now is The Garden of Earthly Delights by Apocalypse Orchestra. It’s the first song I learned on my electric guitar because I loved the guitar riff in it so much so that should say something lol

Funny thing about the Appalachians, maybe you already know this, but they're made up of what was formerly the Central Pangean Mountains, the remains of which are split up between North America, Scotland and Morocco. To me it's almost spiritual how different people can be connected by rocks.

don't look for a translation because you won't find it. the lyrics to this song are an old northern dialect that was spoken in Scandinavia centuries before Christ.

Many call it viking-ish. Not so sure about that. Nordic, yes. Proto-germanic, yes. Bronce-age european, yes. Band members are from norway, denmark and germany. This is pre-viking-era. The viking era was in medieval times, but this here is even before the romans(ancient times). I have to be honest, usually I'm not so much into this kind of folk stuff, but they are hypnotizing. I don't even care what they are singing about, or what the video is about, the sound of the music and the imagery of the video carry me away. It makes me think about how we europeans left our continent hundreds of years ago, and brought civilization to the world (I know a bit cynical, we murdered, conquered and colonized), but If you go far enough back in time, we europeans were just uncivillized primals and tribes, and shamans. Just like all the other folks in every part of the world used to be. There is a feel of ancient inner connection, transported by this kind of music, over thousands of years of time.
