I bought this book at the turn of the century and it is my favorite book. If you like all things to do with survival and prepping I'd say this has to be in your library. Also loads of info on camp craft, building shelters, finding and preparing food and general bushcraft etc. A great little book. The SAS Survival Guide by John 'Lofty' Wiseman.

Back in May 2023 I made a vid testing out some Wayfayrer MRE's that were 4-6 months out of date. Well this is a bit of a follow on vid, now they are nearly 2 years out of date. How are they holding up?

November 5th 2024. Rode down to a very busy Southsea Common to see Portsmouth's firework display on Bonfire Night, or Guy Fawkes Night to give it its proper name.Then when that was finished it was off home for a burn up in my Ikea colander come fire pit and my own firework display. I love this night, always have.

I bought this pumpkin soup mix last year but never used it. It says you can put in what you want meat and veg wise or have it as a hearty broth. Which is what I did. I didn't intend for this to be an ASMR vid, but there was so much noise going on around my garden I thought I would turn it into my very first ASMR. Hope it's ok.

This was fun. Locking myself in the back of the car with the camping stove and cooking up a fish pie mix and having a nosh up with some bread and butter. Lovely way to spend the afternoon.

Swapped my day off so I set off to the seafront by the Solent to have some breakfast. Some lovely diced bacon rolls and sticky toffee coffee cooked up with the BCB stove and fire dragon gel blocks. First time I've used this stove on the beach. Was a lovely calm morning. Just wish I wasn't under the weather as the saying goes.

Been a bit of interest in the old Tomshoo wood gasifier stove so I thought I would venture into the woods for a two way cookout. With the Trangia burner for my coffee and changing over to gasifying some wood for my lovely hot soup, it was a great day away from the rat race for a bit.

A massive milestone for my Samebike LO26ii E-bike last week. I have now covered over 2000 miles on my trusty steed. So what are my thoughts on the bike after riding it 3 times and a quarte the length of Britain? Come along for the ride and find out.

I needed a new waterproof jacket so Mrs. RTR bought me one. Thought I would go to the seafront that is the Solent to test out my new BAERSkin waterproof jacket and fleece. The one day it decides not to rain but it was plenty windy enough. Does the BAERSkin keep the chilly autumn sea breezes out?

Popped into Hilsea Lines, or Eoxes Forest as it's known around here, for a cookout of Japanese pork stir fry cooked with the Trangia Mini. Thought I would climb the overgrown embankment to get to a 19th century Moncrieff gun emplacement to fry it up.

Haven't burnt wood in the XL for what seems like ages. So its off to my 'magic roundabout' for a cookout with the Bushbox XL and with some 'tasty' lamb burgers. About time too. Oh and an interesting coffee. Sticky toffee flavour. Interesting.

Finished work early. So with the Trangia and everything already packed in the car, I thought I would head down to Langstone Harbour for a lunch of butterflied sardines with lemon and parsley. Plus two rounds of bread and butter. Lovely. The rain came down and the wind it blew. But that doesn't matter.
