    Any chance of getting a 40K Dark angels in green along with a bone one as well? It would be greatly appreciated. I’m absolutely trying to figure out how to do your technique. Over-brushing on the blue ultra and your Blood Angel are epic.

    Oh nice this is really close to what I want to do. I’m think pro acryl bronze armour and then green. But I want to add a trim/secondary metal colour and idk what to use

    • @jwminiatures
      @jwminiatures 8 днів тому

      Cool, I look forward to seeing your results. I used silver as secondary metallic, if you have a cooler metallic colour is will balance nicely with the bronze. I think any warm metallics might get lost in the rest of the scheme

    The area where the fur and the skin meets looks good. Especially with no blending. How do you make such seemingly smooth transition? I think it is very difficult to determine where there is skin and where there is fur. Especially around muscles. Shouls they have fur? How much should a rat be used for reference for the skin/rat ratio

    • @jwminiatures
      @jwminiatures 22 дні тому

      By adding texture to the fur it creates noise in those transition areas. This helps to create the transition and smooth out those areas. I think it's really down to your interpretation of the model and the sculpt. You can use real life references to help guide you but generally I'll always do the snout, hands and feet as skin and the rest as fur. Obviously there are some exceptions, rat ogres and mutants tend to have more skin

    Great video! Are you thinning the metallic paints at all?

    • @jwminiatures
      @jwminiatures 25 днів тому

      Glad you enjoyed it. I am not thinning them. My dry brushes are slightly damp which I find give me semi transparent layers, the metal color range are all very thin but cover great. I will say it really depends on your paint, it could behave differently to mine.

    • @9woah1horses60

      Does a pink basecoat actually help brightening the yellow more?

    • @jwminiatures
      @jwminiatures Місяць тому

      It gives a warmer shadow colour. Generally the process is to base them in magenta, not a baby pink, then zenithal prime with white, spray yellow and done. You get bright yellows over the white and deep warm shadows that verge on orange
