I love this grimdark most grimdark just look dirty or unrealistic this looks genuine great quality
Thank you mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
A fantastic video thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have a hard time understanding which colors can stack onto each other. Watching someone pick them, apply them, and demonstrate how they work together is really helpful. Nice vid!
I'm glad you found that helpful. Selecting colours and colour theory can be a lot but I plan to make some videos covering those topics in the future
I found going back to basic colours, and mixing my own hues from them, really taught me a lot about what hues make the premade paints. From there, it becomes easy to work out what would work over it just but looking at it in the pot. But it did take me a bit of time and trial and error before it started to click for me.
Why hasn’t this guy got more subs 🤷🏼
Awesome work and channel 👍🏻
Thank you mate, I appreciate the support
Quality video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks great. I'll have to try this out for my Pre-Heresy Death Guard.
Ohh I'd like to see that. I'll have a video out for pre-heresy Death Guard in the very near future too
Nice to see different techniques and types of paint applied through a thought-out process. Good way of achieving a great result with an easy-to-follow guide.
Love the texture, adds waaaay more interest to the model than just a clean Terminator. These lads mean business.
Also: Handsome fella!
Thank you mate, really appreciate the kind words.
No you are the handsome fella!
This is really awesome work Mate, thank you for sharing! I would definitely watch a 'cleaner' grim dark version from you though with the same technique. I meant to make war weary armor rather than rusty effect. As with the lore the cleaner weapons and armor much more works with space marines while the rust and decay with chaos. Something more metallic on the edges where the paint was removed by bullets or blackened by laser, plasma, etc.
Thank you buddy. I could definitely do some more of these videos, did you have any other chapters or armies in mind?
I am all the way Dark Angels :D
I’ve watched 5 min and I already know this is way to do my dark angels . Love your work thank you
Great to hear, I'm glad you found it helpful. I look forward to seeing the result
I'm glad my favourite wh40k paiters are all paiting their deathwing terminators, I recently purchased the deathwing assault and I'm going ot need all the guides!
It's a lovely box set, the character model and knights are great models. Please shout if you have any questions when you get round to painting them
Just found your channel, and this was awesome! Would love to see tour take on th green Dark Angels armor with that jade tint 🙏
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. That could be cool, I do need to paint some 40k marines
@@jwminiatures Fingers crossed 🤞 Subscribed anyway 👍
amazing paintjob! will you make a video tutorial for the green armor with this kind of method later maybe? 😁
Thank you. I will be aiming to get a tutorial done for green armour, I'll probably look at continuing the space marines series I started last year with main 40k chapters
Saved . Watching this closely thank you .
so the absolute best way i have done the undersuit of the joints is to just basecoat them in dawnstone and use a heavy nuln oil wash. it will black out the deep but leave the grey tops leaving it looking exactly like normal ribbing without half the hassle :P
That is a good way to get it done quickly
Superb tutorial. For my Grimdark deathwing I have been testing a Rakarth Flesh with a dark brown/black oil wash. But I think you have given me a new way of approaching it, Thanks!
Thank you mate, I'm glad you found it helpful and its given you a new approach. Look forward to seeing what you do with it!
I love the approach! Thanks!!!
I'm glad you liked it!
Great approach and tutorial. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I actually LOVE this idea. It’s the perfect level of grimdark for some brave terminators lurking in a space hulk. Also, what brand handle is that? I like the hand rest.
Glad you like it. I use rathcore holders in most of my videos, you can pick them up on element games if you are interested
👍
Beautiful !!
Thanks mate
Love it 😍
Great to hear!
I wanna paint like u,but i can't 😭
You can do it! Feel free to ask questions or share you work for some feedback
Not going for grimdark but realized that a heavy drybrush is the best way to apply a bone white color to the surfaces.
Want a solid base color so i can apply freehand patterns (and erase mistakes with bone white)
This is a fantastic video. Thank you so much! I learned a lot I want to apply to the Deathwing Assault box I just bought. I’ve just subscribed for more videos.
Great to hear, glad you found it helpful. Looking forward to seeing it applied to your army
I really really really love this technique .i am just affaid about the time it will took to make an entire army like this .
I think it would work well for batch painting as all the layers dry quite quickly and you cover a lot of ground very quickly. You could take some short cuts or different approaches when it comes to the details to speed it up
Sensational Bro, can't wait to give this a go, looks amazing, love it,,,
Glad you enjoyed it! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it
Great work James!
Thank you mate
Really nice paint job. 🙌
Thank you mate!
Really great video, thankyou.
Glad it was helpful!
I'd love to see this technique applied to Grey Knights... 😉
Ohh now there's an idea
I love this technique. I saw it first with Richard Gray and love the texture it creates. I might have missed it but how thin do you have the paint when you stipple? Thank you!
Yeah I think its super effective if you want to create a lot of texture and information in the plates. I just use water but the tiniest amount, just whatever is in the damp brush really. You can use you prefered medium instead of water, you should get the same result, we are just looking to make the paint a wee bit more transparent
Very nice color on the bone, what is that tool that holds the model while painting? you make that yourself?
Cheers mate. I use Rathcore miniature grip V3s and Rathcore miniature holder V3s in most of my videos, depending on the size of the model I have a 50mm, 70mm and 90mm bow. I get mine from element games elementgames.co.uk/paints-hobby-and-scenery/rathcore?d=10816
Awesome Video, thank you! Did you use a black Basecoat first or is it just Mournfang brown? Greetings
Cheers mate. I applied some black primer before the Mournfang Brown.
Thank you for your response. I cant wait to try out your Tutorial!!
Excelente work I will use this technique for mi dark angels, one question what primer do you use in the video?
Thank you, look forward to seeing how yours turn out. I started with a black primer from Vallejo and applied Mournfang Brown over that using an airbrush.
Thanks @@jwminiatures
I feel this was almost perfect, but where would decals fit into this process?
Cheers mate. If I was going to add a decal I would add it after the final highlight on the cream armour. Once its set and you've added some varnish to matt it down, I would add a couple of chips are scratches to it either with an x-small drybrush or a size 0. Due to the textured and damaged nature of the armour you use either Karak stone or screaming skull to chip the decal. Hope that helps
@jwminiatures thank you buddy
How did you pin that down to the cork?
I just drill some hole in a feet and super glue in some wire. I explain the process I follow in ua-cam.com/video/18o7Rs203Fc/v-deo.html
