Issue 1-3 jupp... 4-5 big nope... Do Not do the subscription... But try to geht your hands on the ones you like and need...especially since the Release of Space Marine 2... Here in germany We only got the Combat patrol this year and especially the First 2-3 episodes have great value...got 6 von Ryans leapers for 14€ instead of paying 20 quid for it of them on the eBay or 41€ for 3 of em at GW...which ist a ripoff... Anyways it can be a great start into the Hobby with Lots of stuff to experience and get your hands onto your First Minis for the collection. The subscription might be expesive, but in total it is still cheaper than buying it online or via GW... And If youcan get your hands on just the issues you need, or share If with a friend, it might be a bang for a buck.

Cool name, cool emblem, tacticool, sane, efficient, they are complementary to the gothic crazy chapters. Space Special Forces, instant of Space Knights/Vikings/Vampire-angels/Tribals with beast animal spirits/.... They are therefore a very good chapter for military miniatures enjoyers, fans of Sci-Fi armies, etc. Sandbags, trenches, snipers, rapid deployment with helos, elimination of enemy leaders, tactical and strategic bombing, peacekeeping missions, mechanized infantry, the potential is there. Shock troopers like the French Foreign Legion, Operators like Delta Force, etc. Pic your favourite.

If you live in America, it's a very, very good deal. Included printed rules that operate independently from GW's tiresome errata, some cool models, paints, equipment and elements that make it a complete package. Also people find that having your models piecemealed like this inspires them to paint more often because you don't have a massive pile of grey that just looks tiresome. There's a positive element to getting into Warhammer in this way, unless your goal is the larger game. Which when you consider the rules in contrast to many independent rule sets, has the same feeling is DnD these days. Popular but... Ultimately not fun or sits apart from the fantasy elements of the game. Math Vs Math sucks and always will suck. Make rules simple, stop worrying about meta, beat each other up in single combat for no reason other than to see what will happen, have fun. ^^ Just my take, I've been into Warhammer since I was 13, 1998, I worked there for two years too. Modern Warhammer rules are meh but combat patrol fits nicely into the casual and above all, fun category.

Also the Orks being a new line is dead wrong. The new aesthetic of Orks is a significant departure from the old. Some of their iconic units are still in the old style. I would expect to see burna boys, nobs, lootas, perhaps mega armored nobs, a new vehicle, new grots, possibly a multipart orks kit, weirdboys, etc. There is so much to be replaced.

My thoughts: Spot on with Vanguard vets and bikes. My guess is a multipart bike kit, and a captain for sure. I think “Fast Attack” options within the Primaris line remain pretty limited, so I would expect this box to lean heavily into those options. My guess is that there will also be a whirlwind replacement. It fulfils a niche role and is yet to be prmarisised. After that, its anyones guess. Your ideas are pretty valid… EXCEPT… I think its too optimistic to think tactical marines or rhinos will get redone. Rhinos have already been shafted rules wise and their niche is easily filled by the impulsor. I would not be surprised if we saw the end of rhino chassis tanks at the start of 11th. In respect to tactical marines, Space marines have moved away from being flexible generalists. Tactical marines would either step on the toes of intercessors and vice versa.

probably gave the scratch on those people who consider WH40K chapters as Over The Top and just want something Toned down and close to themselves

I'm not subscripting to it, lucky for me my local bookstore stocks it and i have a local forbidden planet. So i can just buy the magazines with the models, the paints are no deal.

I'm actually subscribed premium I saw it as a nice way to build my collection I'm not going to pay £60 on GW models but after this magazine finishes I will buy individual stuff to fill out the armies I enjoy playing with !

As an Aussie this will save you about 60% off. There is no reason to buy the paint mags and the news will order in individual mags

If its anything to go buy, UA-camrs I follow who used to work for GW, often talk about how model ranges will rise & lower in popularity based on whether the higher-ups are fans of them or not. Its a very social affair, where the more popular factions in the company will get plenty of releases, while the less popular might be tossed a single box just to shut its fans up for a few months or years. That said, I don't doubt that someone recently got a big promotion, and said someone was & is a big fan of the Raptors. That all said, they do hold a wide appeal. I'm certainly a fan, having made a dreadnaught for 'em before.

As someone not really apart of the the warhammer community, but has some interest in learning about it. I found myself drawn more to the raptors because of their do more with less attitude. From a military perspective it's very relatable.

The only thing that bothers me is when the fantasy part of military sci fi fantasy starts to take over, when you're looking at a 40k kit and thinking 'Hmmm that looks a lot like something from AOS'.

For me since Primaris look more tactical now like the Raptors look like would be a good fight for the new more tactical approach to the Primaris.

I'm happy with it so far. I plan on selling a couple of the Combat Patrols to make a profit on them, making the overall savings even better. I get to paint up and have a few Combat Patrols ready, to introduce mates to the game, and get to experiment with different painting styles I wouldn't usually do painting up my main armies. I plan on eventually doing a mini-tournament, where each player gets randomly paired with a Combat Patrol, which I think could be quite fun. I will say, though, it'd be nice if they maybe had one less Combat Patrol (Preferably GSC or Votann.) and replaced it with a few terrain kits.

They just released this in germany and i made the same arguments on german youtube videos which are praising how good this thing is... i showed them the math that buying this or buying from an flgs is around the same price, ... and you dont need the premium models as you cant use them in CP ... and you dont need 9 CP's ... buying from an flgs even has a positive point, you can choose which CP you want... also i dont know if this includes all the weapon options you would have in an official CP

For someone like me, whos mainly a Minipainter, this is a nice thing. I got a few models every few weeks to paint. :D

ok the first born size increase explains why the new box of tactical marines im working on have such clean mold lines that on the legs im struggling to find them to clean them off. i will admit the old kit mold lines were visible and showing their age as a result. but that does tell me a box of blood angels tactical marines i assembled with 32mm base might be a tad small but im still likely to play them as theyre the ones i dont need to change the base on. and in fact you showed the very box i bought...so now im thinking the size difference may not be noticeable.

They are so boring, nothing feels custom or unique with them. Compare it to Inner circle companions or deathwing knights. look so damn good. Deathcompany just look like black painted versions of the normal primaris ones.

I think the subscription is great yes only small ish savings but im new to the hobby. So getting a magazine with law instructions and other information is invaluable it also makes me get factions i may not know anything about so it teaches me more on law and then i may like the faction if not sell em.

As a raptor fan, I’m all for raptor focus

GW had listen to the fan's to support lesser know chapter who liked lesser know chapters that use familair icons . Raptors it help they are a simple paint job that all SM kits can be used 1st born and prmiaris for being a militery modler desgin . In the past decade GW had focus more on other lesser knower chapters as to move away other SM chapters . CSM had the same pattern but on a smaller scale excluding the popularity of SM chapters.. As some warbands get popular for a time due to book series or a book by the fans then GW support them for a time like rules for some warbands in 9th edition. When it come to some chapters some are not as interesting and so the succesor chapters are more interesting as some of succesor chapters like the crimson fist or etc. GW tried to push some lesser know chapter's but failed while some are popular due to the fan base just liking them .

I see what people are saying about the title but as someone that is newly checking this kit out, tbf, makes sense from a noob stand point, I too was confused as to whether I would need to buy a separate specific box to make the other non regular Dreads or one box had the options for the other two so the title makes sense to me because I did not know so thank you lol as far as the logistics of this goes, it does seem like made it pretty un-kit bashable basically forcing the player to buy multiple boxes pretty lame and I see, again as a noob, why the fans have given GW so much shtick
