A look at my Singer Featherweight 221, and some cleaning!

I bought this Singer Featherweight 221 - and forgot I bought it! Since I was going to go over it and clean it, I thought I would make a video. I'm sorry I did. This video is terrible.

221 is still highly sought after- more so than 222 among quilters. You did good!

no the 222 doesn't have the zig zag. it's basically the same machine as the 221 it only has a lever for dropping the feed dogs and a free arm. that's ita😆 it's still a straight stitch machine. it makes the same wuality stitch ♥️ i too have a 221, not my go to machine but nice to have

So what do you think of me owning a 222k, bought for me in my childhood in 1956 it served me into the early 70’s then the timing went a bit out. So the Singer shop owner was disingenuous, as I now know, in selling me a newer second hand zigzag machine. He made me a derisory trade in offer so I kept my 222k because my mother went without to get it for me. So recently I got it out of the attic, found a Singer mechanic who sorted out the timing and it goes like a dream. Meanwhile I bought a Janome which is very cleaver and easy to use but I get the 222k out and give it a fun run now and again. My box never was smelly and after carefully cleaning off the spider gunk it looks almost like new. Congratulations to anyone who reads this to the end.
