It means a lot to me if my videos actually help out someone. 🙂
That being said, I’ve heard a lot of reviews saying the “heavy duty“ is just a name Singer is adding and people that are trying to sew heavy jeans or heavy material are not 100% happy, but then you would have to upgrade to an industrial machine or a vintage all metal machine which are many hundreds of dollars if not $1000 or more. For a beginner machine, I don’t see why this isn’t a good start.

I took mine apart. The same model. I struggled too and had a few screws left over at the end.

Hopefully one day I settle on just a few machines for myself that are..
      1. Sew amazing and more importantly,
      2. Are easy to take apart and maintain.

You home repair guys need to start a habit of designating a special little dish to hold all the screws, gaskets, nuts, etc. ---- good advice from grandma!

Shall we take bets as to whether or not this machine ever sews again?!! ha ha (My Singer is overdue for it's trip to the shop, I wonder what they'll find inside!)

How often should this deep cleaning and serviceing be done?

    • @kraftaculousgreekgodofcraf1113

@@sherrywilliams1131 of course I’m no expert, I think the general rule is if you sew a lot at least once a year you should have your machine serviced?
But I don’t see why if you do a simple clean in between projects, the lint that accumulates in the bobbin area and under the bobbin case and maybe inside the head where the take up arm is?
I feel like your machine can run for over a year or two without needing a deep clean, but that’s just my big old guess 😬

I have to put some lithium grease in mine, and push the feed dig mechanism back in place.

Regarding Oil - I carry a FULL SYNTHETIC Sewing Machine Oil that WILL NOT gum your machine up over time - whereas the common "Mineral based sewing machine oil CAN AND WILL Gum up your machine over time. The LED Bulb would be the same one as the one that i sold to you for your Pfaff 1222.

I dont like to keep that end cover thing screwed on because i like to be able to remove it when i need to. The design of this machine is actually terrible but its popular and cheap.

I tried to open that end door on my machine because I could see the fuzzies in there, but I never could get it open. I have to take it to the shop soon.

oh Kraftaculous! oh i summon thee to lay your heavenly hands of craftyness upon my meager sewing machine who has lost it's way (by the way, it's a Singer HD 4411) because of the bobbin has lost it's mojo and it's no longer working! lol!

😂… who .. summons .. me… (use genie from Aladdin’s voice lol)…. I’m sorry about your bobbin. My very limited knowledge of Bobbin problems is if it’s a metal bobbin after many uses, the metal can actually kinda wear away at the plastic bobbin housing which would mean you would need to replace the whole bobbin housing.
However, if you are bored and take apart your bobbin area and look around to see if there are any needle hits maybe the needle punctured a little bit of the plastic area sometimes you need to sand that down with sandpaper and try to make glass smooth again and also the bottom part the bottom part.
Or see if you need to tighten the bobbin housing screw thingy …
I’m no help at all am I… welp, Going back into the kingdom now to slumber😂

I didn't want to pay to have mine oiled and cleaned. It was a littl scary.
