Hello! Welcome to my channel! If you are into trains and railroad crossings, you have come to the right place! My main hobbies are watching trains and filming railroad crossings. I share my videos here on UA-cam for everyone to see.
I also enjoy collecting pieces of railroad crossing equipment such as bells and lights. I have a few other hobbies which may be shared every once and a while on this channel.

*WCH 2nd Gen M-Bell* BNSF Mixed Freight Train - Clark Street, Spearville, Kansas
After catching the local in Kinsley, I continued west. To my dismay, I found that every M-Bell between Kinsley and Spearville had gotten replaced by a GS E-Bell. These were recent replacements too, occurring between mid 2022 and early 2024. Luckily, both crossings in Spearville retained M-Bells. I decided to film Clark Street first since there was heavy machinery operating at the main crossing. About 2 hours after I arrived, H-KCKDEN came rolling through. I would return to the main crossing later to catch Amtrak after all the businesses were closed.
Practically everything at this crossing is original. Mid to late 1990s Safetran gates, lights, plus a WCH 2nd Gen M-Bell can be found protecting this crossing. The gate lights are incandescent, which is a bonus!

As I went west, I discovered that many M-Bells had been replaced on the La Junta Sub. There were a few east of Kinsley, but I needed to get to Dodge City by sundown. I really enjoyed my stay in Hutchinson. Unfortunately it was time to go further west. This would be the last crossing I filmed in Hutchinson. Maple Street is similar to Elm Street, but has a Safetran M-Bell. The WCH gate mechanisms here are slightly different than those at Elm Street. Amtrak would be a big part of my trip as it was the only train I could precisely track on the La Junta Sub. I would say this is my favorite crossing in Hutchinson. I was rather disappointed with this crossing. I was hoping to catch the WCH M-Bell in action, but it didn’t work. Another thing I was bummed about was that the GS E-Bell was just a generic Type 3. This is the same train I filmed at Main Street, but I’m at the next crossing down. In fact, Main Street can be heard at the beginning of the video. Union Pacific also runs through Hutchinson. The UP line sees much more traffic than the BNSF line. As with many Herrington Sub crossings, this crossing features a reused GS bell. Despite BNSF’s La Junta Sub being full of classic equipment, there are instances of BNSF doing upgrades. Take a look at the Poplar Street crossing. While it retains incandescent lights and a WRRS M-Bell (with a beautiful tone), the Safetran M-Bell on the other cantilever has been replaced with a GS Type 3 E-Bell. There are several issues with this crossing. First off, the lights don’t flash properly. The gate closest to me also pumps after rising. why does everyone think that taking a crossing bell laying on the side if the road is theft? It's not at all theft, you can only take it if it was replaced, which in this case you could take it!

If you go to Bowling Green, KY, on Morehead Road, an Early GS E-Bell is there. RJC owns the line. If you don’t take requests, that’s fine.

I would like to venture down to that RJ Corman crossing, but considering I have already filmed many Early GS E-Bells, and taking into account I own one, it is not very high up on my priority list. I know that Ethan The Railfanner and Freebrickproductions have already filmed that bell. Go check out their vids!

@@freebrickproductions I believe so, maybe very early 80s considering the 5 inch base Safetran bell.
@@upking9080 Could be 70s, the 2nd Gen Safetrans seem to have started production in about the mid to late-70s from what I've seen. Also entirely possible the ATSF replaced the bell later-on. The lights appear to be 70s Safetran ones, and I believe that style of head was already replaced with what's essentially the modern one by the 80s.

Today I came over the tracks and a brown truck shot in front of me on the steet thayt ran parallel to the tracks. He stopped and told me I should of stopped and that he should beat the shit out of me . I had the right of way, he didn't realize that I didn't have a stop sign. I"m in my 60's and he was in his 30's, I'm going to start to pack iron this is stupid.
