- As I went west, I discovered that many M-Bells had been replaced on the La Junta Sub. There were a few east of Kinsley, but I needed to get to Dodge City by sundown. As I arrived in Kinsley, I was disappointed to find that the crossing with 3 Safetran M-Bells had gotten GS E-Bells on every signal. Since the eastbound local had already left Dodge City, I decided to grab some lunch in Kinsley and wait at the Colony Street crossing, which still retained its M-Bell. About an hour later, I heard a horn and started filming.
Colony Street originally had 2 Safetran M-Bells, but at some point one was replaced with a cap. Don’t ask me why. The crossing is virtually all Safetran besides the gate lights.
One last thing to note is that there was an outdoor speaker playing a local radio station directly above where I was filming, so you will hear music.

I don’t own the music but I do own the video. - Розваги
That's a very great video of Kinsley, Kansas.
nice incandescent lights and train horn
(and safetran bell)
Sounds like a second gen safetran
Great video and crossing! Looks like a 70s ATSF install?
@@freebrickproductions I believe so, maybe very early 80s considering the 5 inch base Safetran bell.
@@upking9080 Could be 70s, the 2nd Gen Safetrans seem to have started production in about the mid to late-70s from what I've seen. Also entirely possible the ATSF replaced the bell later-on.
The lights appear to be 70s Safetran ones, and I believe that style of head was already replaced with what's essentially the modern one by the 80s.
