Challenging music even more and successfully mastered in (at least) one song: ua-cam.com/video/CbQjHb8iaMc/v-deo.html
Did not write but chose to sing
Woooooa you are a superb presenter. Huge thnx ❤❤ This song from 1970.nothing has changed. Discraceful for the richest country in the world
Do you know what? This song has always resonated with me. Has since the first time I heard it around 3 decades ago, but hearing you talk about your brother turning up at your door, man, I just want to say, that hit hard. 💗
It’s a Response to all his haters
So right
Churchboy! Loved your reaction. You are so expressive! The emotions just ooze out of your every word! Good job!!!
Don't worry about the lyrics---just zone out.
YYZ (y y zed) is the airport call sign for Toronto
The day you figure out Jon’s lyrics, you’ll have to tell the rest of us! :-)
Congrats brother! You are starting to get the lyrics.. and rightfully, from more than just the lyrics. It’s the whole show. As you say, it’s more than a song. Yes is celebrating life, good, bad, and ugly. But always with optimism, even thought it might have to evolve or resolve to it. Yes music is always about the journey of souls. Love, pain, sorrow, resilience, perseverance, triumph, failure, losing your way, finding your way, getting better, helping, giving, caring. It’s encoded in the lyrics in ways that match the music. It’s like dreaming a dream that seems so real, but when you wake up and think on it, it doesn’t make sense, and you can’t understand how you could possibly ever thought it was real. Then suddenly you connect with the feelings you had in the dream and it starts to make sense. You can’t try to understand a dream with the kind of logic you apply in daily life. That’s what reading the lyrics of Yes is. It’s easy to conclude there is no meaning… but there always is. It’s the words with the music that are like thoughts with feelings in your dream. Keep listening. It’s always about what it means to you. Everyone who listens will find a message if they have the ears to hear it. The rest of the songs on this album are held in great esteem. Someday you can take a week and listen to Tales from Topographic Oceans. Too advanced for some fans, but I love it more with each passing year. The Relayer album features a different keyboard player. It’s still great music. Then the old keyboardist returns for the album Going for the One… which has way some fans think is the bands last truely epic piece Awaken… that song really lives up to its name, but everything on that album is excellent music. Thanks for reacting to this one. That was fun!
If you’re going to give any respect to Rush, a Canadian band performing a Canadian song about a Canadian location, say the name of the song right. It’s “YY-ZED”, not “ZEE”. After all, we Canadians don’t call Beyoncé’s husband “Jay-Zed”. 🇨🇦😎👍
The song to me has always had themes of creation starting with the chaos of creation, tasting the fruit it's not really coherent lyrics but you can spot the themes when you look over the lyrics later
And it's definitely composed
My husband turns 69 tomorrow. He was in the Navy, on the USS KITTY HAWK, THE FLAG SHIP OF THE THE 7TH FLEET. Now, what he did not know that there were beach attachments. He spent 2.5 yes boots on the ground before he was shot.
Welcome to the family brother 😊🥁🇨🇦
❤Tom❤Dax
Unique song. Billy Joel does not write or perform anything phony. His passion is 100% real. Billy Joel is a flawed man, but his heart and soul are always in the proper place. Always!!!
I'm not a guitar player so Idk how technically difficult Lifeson's solos are, but they sometimes have a sort of terrifying quality . Especially on the studio version, this song's Carribean/Reggae-ish traits give it a sing-song kind of flavor. But then Alex Lifeson comes in like a flaming meteor shower heading for major cities. Or something. Is he even listening to the song? What's he thinking? He's bends time inside out on the record.
RIP Chris Squire Nice review, thank you!
Great reaction Brother! Keep on doing you! Keep the faith, and pray for your children to have their hearts find the Truth so they can seek it for the right reasons.
You are right ..ii was like jazz band in terms of creation...complexity😮
You are driving me crasy with your lyrics concern my friend
Probably already stated, but the mystery sound is the Danelectro Coral Electric Sitar (played by Steve Howe).
for the lyrics try "roll the bones" by rush!!! more recent too.
Great reaction and thoughts. HOG UK showing support.
Sorry u didn't like it
What doesn't get expressed in words gets expressed through the body, if left long enough the body can give a life threatening challenge (cancer. diabetes etc.) to wake you up to process your past experiences. Illness knows no gender. So yeah its really important for guys also to find a way to express what is bottled up within, sometimes services like a therapist is that way because the environment isn't safe to do it.
Dax and Tom have a few songs together. Dax ft Tom Propaganda. Tom and Adam ft Dax Black and White, Tom ft Dax Blame the Rappers. Dax own catalog amazing. God’s Eyes can’t think of much off the top of my head getting late! 🙏❤️
This is an amazing song. Very needed. 🙏❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇨🇦
The View is a very toxic example.🤣😂🤣
As a young boy, the most fearful sound was the belt being quickly pulled from my grandpa's pants. I knew where it was going next 😮
You should listen to the original recording.Bill Bruford plays drums on that.Alan White is playing on this.Different drumming than the original .This a few bpm slower als.Still a great version
"Parallels" and "Awaken" features the church organ at St. Martin's in the town of Vevey[
Steve Howe Accolades. Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977-1981) and in 1981 was the first rock guitar player inducted into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame.Legendary
I think its a mandoliin your thinking about not a synth
I've been listening to Yes since 1971 and trust me nobody including Jon Anderson knows what half the songs mean. I've been blessed to know a few members of Yes over the years and when I asked them about the lyrics they jusy say Man we have no clue.
The lyrics are poetry so they are interpreted differently for everyone. But I don’t think this song is referring to two people but the entire human race…a society as a whole. But…you didn’t play the entire song.
The only time men can cry is over death or anger in protection. Other than that we have to put on a happy face at all times. That said, I’m ok with it.
React to Deftones.
I will check that out.
This is the first song I ever learned on the bass. 1986, by ear, took me a whole year to get it the best I could. My childhood drummer buddy said learn bass so I can have someone to jam this song with. Also something cool hardly anyone knows. at 15:28 Neil does a backwards drum roll. amazing. Listen for it.
God, I love your reaction Church Boy, AWESOME!
The singer 'speaks in tongues' like a holy revelation about a cosmic truth. It's metaphysics. It's a poem. Words are not meant for pure understanding they're suggestive: their associatons count. Let the wings of words float on the music. Lose yourself...
Great reaction. #HOG#DAX
Thank you so much for watching!
Welcome to RUSH my friend. Your reaction is classic. Love to see younger folks getting into the classics! Keep the journey going.
These guys all had fun toooo much fun
Lose control com whistle, fenomenal. ua-cam.com/users/shortswJgBavWEXbA?si=THQrvFO-7nltB_uE
Again…the lyrics are poetry. They mean something different to everyone. Just enjoy the beauty.
We here in Vienna/Austria/Europe wait for you to come and recognize, that Billy describes our lifestyle. Not only the beautiful city.
The lyrics? So obvious! Mountainclimbers watching an eagle from a suntower as they regard the summit. The waiter asks if they would like more tea (khatru means as you'd have it in Arabic). Simple.
It's about spiritual awakening and the chaos that sometimes leads to it.
