Stretched Samurai to 100 inch Wheelbase! Suzuki Samurai Build Episode 12
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
WELCOME BACK UA-cam I am building myself a custom jig for helping me determine my clearance with a variety of tire sizes. As you may know, purchasing tires can involve a bit of guess work when deciding on measurements like your offset and you are limited in tire size based on the amount of room you have in the wheel wells. I designed this Jig so that I could quickly switch between different siz...

Impressive!!! 😎
Great video! A suggestion that you probably have solved by now and that is start you lead in cut either at one of the corners or in the curve that is gonna be welded. I don't know anything about the Crossfire but using my 15 year old homebuilt with Cambam, I can move the lead in cut anywhere that I want to. I am impressed with your Crossfire and your plasma cutter! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! I use Sheetcam for programming the tool path and have started lead in on those sections to keep the visible surfaces cleaner. Thanks for the tip!
Awesome transformation
Thanks!!
Dude!!! Glad you posted an update. Great work!
Appreciate it!! Thanks for following the build 🤘
How can one get some of those shock towers for front?
Would love to get you some but I’m not currently selling products yet. Keep an eye out though I’ll get there soon

On this type setup, what keeps the nose of the differential from pointing up and down while accelerating?
That would be the separation of the lower and upper links. The axle is trying to wrap but the triangulation from the upper and lowers will prevent that. Typically the rule of them is have the distance for axle side mount upper and lower to be 25% of your tire diameter.
@alpinefab I am going to try and upload a video clip of what is happening with my 4 link jeep I recently purchased

@alpinefab I am living in the Philippines. I purchased a 1943 Willys jeep that has been converted to 4 link suspension (front and rear). The transfer case, and both front and rear axles are from a Samurai.
Episode 7 ?
Glad to see an update, was hoping this didn't just get sold as an unfinished project
I’m sure glad it didn’t! Thanks for following along on the project
nice work brother 👍🏻
Thanks!
Very effective way of asking like and subscribe how you did it halfway through and just said if you like what you’ve seen so far like and subscribe.
Thanks for mentioning that!
looking great😁🔥
Thank you!

Been waiting for a new video to drop. Insane flex. It all paid off. Very impressive.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

Stoked to get out wheeling with ya
Me too man, excited to hit the trails this year
❤
How far do you think the engine mounts compressed down from the weight of the engine? Im doing this swap but have IFS, i need to make sure it doesn't compress down too far to hit the front diff. Thanks!
Awesome build, looking through the comments you are using solidworks? What plasma cutter are you using and what plas table do you have? Thank you!
Thanks! Yes I use Solidworks for my 3D modelling and Sheetcam for my tool pathing. I’ve got a Razorweld45 for plasma cutter and a Langmuir Systems Plasma table
@alpinefab thank you for the timely response, I own a small fabrication business I will add these tools to my shop!
Hay I’m new two plasma cutting where do you attach your ground cable to because I do not see it connected directly to the part do you have a connection to the frame of the machine somewhere?
I connect the ground clamp directly to the metal work piece I am cutting
Wow! Nice build! I’ve been thrashing on my Samurai for 20years now 😅
Great to hear! Samurais rock 🤘
Bad a ss build man, really enjoyed this video
Thank you!
Do i need the hi steer or im fine with biger pitman arm? Samurai on 30-31" +3" suspension and +1" bidy lift? Car is everyday and very rare off road
Sorry I can’t help with that one, depends on the setup and components! I did not have hi steer on my samurai when it was on 31s with spring over axle.
What exhaust does this rig have??
Straight off the headers!
@alpinefab nice mines the same at the moment
Would you sell me a kit ready to weld on? Shipped to Virginia?
For sale, gently used, $6,500 obo
🤣
More information on the transfer cases
I tried that in my second gen tracker stuck at the same spot sickers a good spot 😂
It sure is a good spot 🤙
Some really good looking stuff you're making there. I applaud your dedication and craftsmanship! Subbed.
Thank you!
I rolled my samurai like 8 times and its still good
Nice job.. i miss working on my Samurai on toyota axles and 36" swampers. I had a stroke on 2/1/2024 and it robbed me of my whole right side. i've regained about 50% of my ability to walk, talk, and use my right arm. its coming back to me and with a a lot of hard work i'll be hitting the trails again in 2025.
Sounds like an awesome Samurai you have! Wish you the best on the road to recovery and back on the trails 🤘

The latest video is out! I hope you enjoy the latest updates 🤘
Is the bhw a 1.9 or 2.0?
Yes Nice 👍🏻
what tickness is the steel?
1/4” steel
What software and table are you using? I like it.
I use Solidworks as my CAD SW and the Langmuir Systems plasma table
artist!
Super boulot 👍👍👍 tu aurait les fichier pour que je puisse faire pareille sur le mien ?
Where can I find a Jerry can bracket like that one?
Waaaawww😮
What timing cover are you using.. I noticed yours doesn't have the hole for motor mount in it.
🐎YEEE-HAAA!!
Can’t believe this beast is up for sale 🥲
This was a cool project. Seemed like you were getting pretty close. Did you give up on it?
Just stumbled upon his videos today, hoping to see more
Wheels too small🤔55 inch better will be🤔
Exactly what I was looking for! Did you do any reinforcement to the frame?
Yes I built some 3/16" Frame Stiffeners on the front!
