I am building myself a custom jig for helping me determine my clearance
with a variety of tire sizes.
As you may know, purchasing tires can involve a bit of guess work when deciding on measurements like your offset and you are limited in tire size based on the amount of room you have in the wheel wells.
I designed this Jig so that I could quickly switch between different sizes
of tires. I currently have some 36in super swamper tires, but I would like to
make sure the samurai is capable of fitting a larger tire down the road if I decide to upgrade.
In this video we also start on the design for the Panhard Bar in the Front 3-Link. The Panhard bar is going to need a lot more work.. but this is a great start to allow me to start designing the mounts in Solidworks, and run some calculations from the locations of the pivot points.

Really like the series , just a note that not all tire manufactures tires are actually the size they claim.
Thank you! Glad to hear you like it so far. Yes I have accounted for that, thankfully it works in my favour as the tire typically measures out smaller than the branded size. Tire jig at least gets me in the ballpark!
You just know it's going to be interesting when the vid starts with a CNC machine engaged... Ya know, I made some home made mounts today, did some grinding and welding, feel'n pretty good...then I go to catch up on your channel and you are all into some "Next Level" shit...I painted my brackets too...lol Are the 36's going to limit you on anything?
The CNC table has made a lot of new things possible and cuts down on a lot of processing time. Very happy to have it 😀
36s should not limit me at all thankfully. Clears the fenders at full compression at full steering lock! I’ll know more once it hits the dirt and rocks 🤘
