How Did This Village Beat London at Its OWN GAME? (Food)
Whilst London is considered to be the culinary capital of the UK, there is one village that steals its thunder. With a population of less than 10,000, we take a look at how this small settlement on the River Thames in Berkshire managed to make a mockery of London's gastronomic accolades.

Look at the size of the Yorkshire flag. Yorkshire should become independent and be given self rule. If smaller populations like Scotland, Wales and NI can why can't Yorkshire become a nation of its own!

If you’re dealing with historic counties, Monmouthshire was administratively in England from 1541, only became part of Wales in 1974, when it became Gwent and has an officially registered flag.

Nonsense. There is no ancient prescriptive rights related to an Anglican cathedral. Show you evidence. It is now, and always was the case that the city status is granted by the sovereign. That a bishop or archbishop was a powerful magnate and close advisers to the king. As for time immemorial, this does have legal status, it is any date before the accession of Richard I (the Lionheart).

Sorry to disappoint, but the Wiltshire flag is straightforward green and white horizontal bars, representing the two aspects of the shire, the drier chalky hilly downs, most suitable for sheep, (or "chalk") and the wetter grassy north, suitable for dairy farming ("cheese"). The heraldic abortion* you describe here was drawn up in 2007, and has NEVER been accepted by those people of Wiltshire who feel the need for a "county flag". It comes with a psychobabble explanation of all the 'symbolic meanings' behind it. It has, however, been accepted as the flag of Wiltshire Council, an organisation that the population tries to ignore as best it can. *The greatest error is that in heraldics, you CAN NOT put white/silver (argent) and yellow/gold (or) together, unless you are the Pope. There are others.

The colours in the Devonshire flag"green, black, white" is definitely NOT FOR PLYMOUTH For a start the capital city of DEVON is EXETER and its colour is traditionally RED. Our flag is based off a flag flown by lord Exmouth in 1816 of a dark green flag with white circles. The current one is just a modern version that was selected by a local radio show after asking for design's to be sent in, the new flag uses the traditional green from an earlier flag as mentioned above. The green represents THE GREEN ROLLING HILLS OF DEVON the black is: THE WINDSWEPT MOORS OF DARTMOOR AND EXMOOR and the white: IS THE DUAL COAST'S and MINING in general. Its only the young and ill-informed people think its the green of Plymouth and the rugby teams of exeter university. No bloody Devonshire man or woman would put a bloody football team over our green rolling hills or our national park. And if they did it should be RED as in the colour of our capital city in Devon.
