I guess they are assuming that the air filter will catch any contaminates before they reach the charcoal pad. The charcoal pad is to prevent unburned fuel vapors from the engine from escaping back into the atmosphere through the air intake.

Not sure on dB level. No drone with this setup. The HKS has a good resonator and beefy muffler that is tuned well.

I had them on for about a year. Took them off when I got new wheels. They seemed to hold up just fine. Just makes sure to put anti-seize on the threads and re-torque them occasionally.

Yup, tint is essential. That back window makes it HOT in the summer. Got 15% all around. I just upgraded to a Evenflo Revolve 360 and it makes it so easy to get the kiddo in and out.

Not cleanable. You can purchase replacment filter elements from BLITZ for about $15 plus shipping. If you want washable you can get the BLITZ Advance Power or Carbon Power. They use a washable stainless steel mesh filter.

@@pudgster9000 They are made to work with stock suspension. You need camber plates if you have coilovers.

@@GhostMushroom88 Did you disconnect the battery for 10 minutes after you installed the intake? You may need to let the ECU relearn the fuel trims to compensate for the increased airflow. Also make sure the MAF sensor is fully sealed using the extra O-ring that is provided with the intake.

I ended up going back to stock intake with an HKS filter. The intake is fine but I ended up getting a JDL UEL catless header and since it generates a lot more heat in the engine bay was worried that the open filter on the BLITZ would make intake air too hot. If you are running stock headers it should be fine.

Yes, 4 hangers. 2 that hold up the muffler and 2 that are closer to the flange. I re-used all the stock hangers with no problems.

I installed the bolts in the lower hole so that you can replace the top 16mm bolt with the OEM lower bolt which is 14mm. This setup will get you the most negative camber without using camber plate top hats.

Yes, that part is the intake snorkel. It has a bell-mouth to maximize the airflow and draws cold air from inside the bumper. I wouldn't recommend removing it but you can replace it with a GR Cup Car style snorkel for increased induction noise. When I did mine there was just the big donut gasket at the flange that mates the mid-pipe and axle back I re-used it for the HKS. No leaks or issues so far. If its in good shape I think you should be fine to re-use it. Thanks for the view & comment! 😀

Its been a while since I was on stock springs but the Teins are super comfortable for daily driving. No bounce or harshness at all.

Thanks! Honestly we just got this one instead of the advance power because it was quite a bit cheaper. I think the advance power would be a better choice since it has some sheilding around the filter and the stainless steel filter sounds cooler. Of course you could also just use the MAF tubing and run whatever filter you want on this one (k&n, aem, greddy, apexi, hks etc) it has a 4.5" flange.

@@altezzadreams Sweet, I appreciate the feedback! I'm also looking for the 90s Honda vibes and this reminds me of the intake I had on my old 92 Civic Si hatch back in the day! The Advance Power isn't cheap, but I was also considering the HKS Cold Air & that full kit is like twice as much so the Blitz kit might suit me better. Thanks again!

Just installed the Advance Power intake today and this video was a life saver. The Japanese instructions weren't as clear as I would have liked through the Google Translate app. Looks awesome and sounds great. I'm going to install the JDL UEL headers too and run both so if my car explodes I'll let you know. Thanks again for the info and great install video!

Cool, I'm sure you will like it! The grimmspeed gaskets are great. No leaks. The header to overpipe gasket is Remflex 6005. You can get it on amazon: amzn.to/4dk2xyS One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that the gray o2 sensor cable is a little short so you will need to unclip the engine side connector from the bracket!

Yup, no AI voices here! I love how easy that air box on the IS300 is. Every time I change filters on the BRZ I have a tough time trying to get it closed back properly!

yup, stock tune. I did switch to a Vibrant J Style defouler instead of the straight Blox one as I ended up getting a CEL with the Blox. I have logged about 5k miles with this setup with no issues and A/F ratios are good.

No I haven't had issues with slipping but if you are tracking the car it might be a better idea long term to get camber plates instead.

No modification necessary. The slotted side can go on either side its just whatever is easier to get the bolts in.

Yes, if you order the gaskets from Grimmspeed it comes in a pack of two and you will need both www.grimmspeed.com/products/grimmspeed-exhaust-manifold-to-head-gasket-pair-subaru Header to overpipe is just one gasket. The Remflex gasket is great, it makes it easy to ensure there are no exhaust leaks. Other advice I would say make sure you have a wobble or swivel socket for the header bolts. A couple of them can be a bit hard to get to with a standard socket and extension. Good luck with the install and let me know if you have any more questions!

Also, can't remember if I mentioned it in the video but definitely remove the 2 spring bolts that connect the front pipe to mid pipe / catback so that you can freely move the overpipe / front pipe piece. It makes it so much easier to get the stock header out (studs from the stock header to overpipe can be tough to wiggle out otherwise). It also makes it easier to install the new header!
