I’m 27 years old and I’ve been trying to find a career that I’ll love but I’ve been struggling to find that. I’ve been thinking about barbering for years but have been unsure about it. Would you say it’s a great career to get into?

When I was growing up I always wanted a haircut like this but never knew exactly how to describe it. So I always ended up getting some bad haircuts. I feel like modern barbers are more in tuned so it’s easier to explain. I just grow out my hair now for a more natural look.

I agree with everything except the enhancements part. That shits gonna wash off when they take a shower. Typically people take showers when they get home from a haircut.., why lie to the client and fix our mistakes and give a false haircut….. this is a new generation thing…. We didn’t become barbers to paint a head…. Other than that, all your guidance is excellent…

    • @JosCuts

I hope this message gets to many young men and woman, I was 34 when I got spinal cancer and left in a wheelchair. ♿️ I worked for the Long Island Railroad for 10 years but before that I was a Carpenter making 1200 cash every week. Great money but in the long run I thank God I made the choice to take the job, career with the LIRR. Today I get a pension and disability and I also get money from a retirement account. You never know tomorrow and it’s important to prepare for the worst. Had I stayed a carpenter which isn’t bad but when sickness comes knocking at your door you better hope you have some kind of retirement plan cause what happened to me can happen to anyone. If I didn’t have a job with those benefits, I’d be in a crappy situation. Get a career that’s on the books and gives you a retirement for when you retire. Ask yourself what and how will you live, survive if you become sick enough where you can’t work tomorrow?

Use the 1.5 open with flick to debulk 2. Clipper and thing sheers over comp 3. Create your bold line 4. Use shaver 5. Lever open no guard for guideline(1 finger) 6. 1 guard lever open second guideline and blend with the top 7. Play around with half guard do blend lever open with 1 8. Close no guard for bold line 9. Use corners thinning sheers and trimmer to detail
