This technique is better than fading up, I appreciate all you barbers sharing your knowledge with us. It really has made a difference with my haircuts. Any hair cut tutorial I watch I learn something new. God Bless
You are amazing. Thank you so much for all you do. Very helpful with how you do your videos ❤ Female barber here. Would love to have you come to Colorado for a class
Small bit of advice. When you set the auto focus on the camera and you see the canvas looks clear lock it in place then change it to manual focus. This will keep the canvas clear. You won’t see that constant in and out of focus that’s happening in the video. Every time you get near the camera it’s blurring out the canvas and then refocusing which will bother most people watching your videos. I know you said you’re using your phone but you can do the same thing with your phone as far as setting it up like I said.
Yeah that’s something you develop over time but it doesn’t take much time to develop. I would say that’s the only downside of fading down, but it helps you UNDERSTAND hair better and once you understand it, you simplify it , you become better and faster 🤝 I would say this, if you’re unsure what guard to use when you get lost throughout the fading process, always guard up. Example: you see a dark spot and you’re not sure if a 1 will lighten it up, use a 1.5 lever open, if that doesn’t work close the lever. If that doesn’t work then go with a 1 lever open… etc… until the spot is lightened hope that makes sense 🙏
Hey ima be honest I’ve never in my life bought any that cost more than $50. I’m sorry but I won’t be able to recommend any 😅! All my shears are $50 Yamako

Sup homie, new sub here. Not a barber but I’ve been cutting family and friends for about 20 years. Your technique is solid. Thanks for the video.

Simple on short hair already.👍🏼
Is there any tips to not getting lost in the fade while fading down? Or is that solved overtime as your ‘barber eye’ develops ??
