I make videos sometimes.
Cars, the outdoors, DIY, adventures, shenanigans and more is what you’ll find around here.
I am a gearhead, an outdoorsman, an electrician, a backyard mechanic, a DIY enthusiast, and a vlogger among many other things. I’m an ordinary guy who gets into situations both ordinary and quite unordinary, all of which I try to document here.

The old girl is returning to the road! In March of 2024, I bought a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500. In May of 2024, I blew the transmission. In August of 2024, after much procrastination, I pulled the transmission. This past weekend, I reinstalled my transmission after it was rebuilt. Here is our process of installing the newly rebuilt transmission after seven long months of sitting. Big thanks to @Jarr...

Garmin inReach Messenger unboxing, set up, and real world test

This past summer, I went on a road trip across the United States which led me to many remote hiking locations, camping destinations, and spots with no cell service. To keep in touch with friends, family, and the world around me, I bought a Garmin inReach Messenger to be able to text back and forth while off the grid. In this video, I unbox the GPS messenger, set it up, test it out for the first...

Hey man. My oil cap says 0w-20. But i see many videos of people putting 5w-20. I understand that its not that much different. I dont drive my car fast. Im quite a calm driver so the car is never really pushed. What should i go for? Or is it not really that different?
I always go by whatever the owner’s manual says. My owner’s manual and oil cap both call for 5w20 for the 3.5L V6, which is what I have.
@@mpt.yt4 Thanks, Mine is a used car so maybe the oil cap was replaced with one with a different oil weight.
What type of gas do you put in it?
I typically run 87 octane. I’ve run 93 before but what I run depends on gas prices. It seems to push a little more power and it gets 1-2 mpg better with higher octane gas.
Can you please send me the link to your video, how to add Bluetooth to the Gx470. Thank you!
ua-cam.com/video/-X8wvNuQ2N0/v-deo.html
Crazy stache you rockin lol, but not a bad Cedar Point video! Arrive early to avoid the traffic and unfortunately there's no quicker exit from CP than the causeway. The holidays...lol, you'll be waiting hours, like 3 plus hours during peak events scheduled to exit that place! Never again, but you live, you learn.
Thank you! 😎 We figured it would be packed on the 4th of July but we could have never pictured the traffic would be that bad. We’ll definitely know for next time.
Headphone warning is right, yall need to stop rippin darts in the hotel
If you think it was loud on camera you should’ve heard it in person
enjoyed the video, you guys have an awesome friendship too. You guys will talk about these trips later on in life.
Thanks! And absolutely, I truly am blessed with the friends I have
What year is your GX? I have a 2008 GX 470 with 221k on it. I love it.
Mine is a 2005. I may be biased, but I’ll still argue that they’re some of the best vehicles ever made.
@ for sure. They really are tanks. 👍🏼❤️
It's a tad worn
Fortunately exhaust holes are always visible
Brother, you are one unique looking dude.
Bro sacrificed his job real friend right there😂🫡
If your homies don’t sacrifice their jobs to go on vacation with you, are they really your homies?
It had to be done 💯
@@mpt.yt4remember when I got fired when you can’t to steamboat cuz we went to Utah, good times
@msteffphoto5726 i can now say i have two friends who sacrificed their jobs to go road tripping with me🫡If that isn’t a true testament of friendship, i’m not sure what is
❤❤❤❤
Im hyppppppeeee can’t wait to see where the road trip takes you
Aysysysysysy
Let’s gooooooo I can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead
We truly had no idea what sort of amazing adventure we were getting ourselves into. Here’s the kickoff to a new series… enjoy!
And so it begins 💯
The tales of a great adventure 🤝🏻
It so funny how similar all the problems to new to me 04 233k Gx I just got. Like the cracks on dash and fuel door etc.
It seems that these cars don’t have many issues… but the few that they do have everyone seems to have.
hey man i know this is a car channel, but you should get a buzz, I think it would look good
I actually got one about a week after i finished recording this
2003 with 318000 almost at 320000 got a 12 hour trip in a few days 6 hours to 6 hours back. Pray for me lol
Bro your tasche look a little pubey
Ready to do a transmission swap in a camaro?
Say the word and I’ll be there
Helped me out in 2024!
Where you get it from?
I got mine from Rock Auto. Dorman 973057
That odometer rollover to 300K was COOL!!!
Super satisfying
Just purchased a 2005 and thanx for this 👍
👍🏻👍🏻
I would have went with OEM
Same here, but I didn’t have much of a choice. I needed something to get me to work the next day and there weren’t any OEM options in stock nearby.
id run some valvoline restore and protect engine oil to clean up any carbon that is built up
I’ll have to look into that. Never given it a try personally, but i have heard good things.
bro use fluid film . that's the million mile secret
I’m planning on giving it a good coat soon. You can’t beat that stuff!
@@mpt.yt4 Lots of Fluid Film. You should probably plan on using 6 quarts. Hose down those inner frame rails too
keep it up man , she's just breaking in. just hit 700K this summer on a 4.7
@@philamor5139 really?? What is the secret? What type of oil do you use and gas?
Nice
won’t last a week
Awesome sauce
What spring did you use to replace the air bag suspension?
I used an air suspension delete kit from Dorman. Part number DOR-949-540
Call me crazy but I honestly feel like trading in my 2022 GX460 for a later year 470. I don't know what it is, but the more I look at the GX470, I love it more than my car 😅
Both great cars. Very rare that I hear a bad thing about either of them. The 470 seems more rugged while the 460 seems more refined. Can’t go wrong with either.
I'm looking at a 2008 GX470 (194k) to daily drive I'm trading the guy my 2009 bmw 335i coupe as I am looking for something more reliable and practical I'm not concerned with gas I had a 05 Tahoe Z71.
Love the video! Just got an ‘08 myself and hope it’ll make it as far as yours has!
Thanks! Basic maintenance and care goes a long way
That’s cool you live locally too. I’m right over the line in pa
I’m in PA all the time. Maybe you’ll see me around sometime.
I love the way that car looks. Nice job!
Thanks!
Note to self, don’t let Michael use the garage again. (He left exhaust marks on the wall and burned it down)
Half of this is true, I’ll let the audience decide 🤫
Congrats!! I got a 2009 GX470 with 262k miles. I have followed your posts since I got it. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you! Will continue to fellow.
I appreciate it and I’m glad to hear that! They’re truly some of the best cars on the road.
Great vid. When are you taking it on the road? Rambler?
Thanks! Planning on taking it out tomorrow. It’ll be cold but the rain will be gone. Rambler is still in my possession. It’s been a tough sell, nobody seriously interested as of recently. I’ll probably put some more work into it soon, maybe hold onto it a little longer.
Now that she’s drivable again… what should come next?
We drive it off the Grand Canyon
@Jarrettsville_Garage ❓❓❓
Rally racing my lowered galaxy
Like them m👀n’s don’t see them much anymore
It's a shame about the rust. Other than that, it looks pretty good.
Rust doesn’t discriminate
Dude hell yeah, that kinda progress ALWAYS feels good
Much appreciated 👊🏻 it’s truly a great feeling
Sorry I missed the first part of your video….that answered my question…
So is that under dash box only screwed on with the front lip…I have a 64 convertible I wanted to put another stereo in…just wondered if you had a brace in the back of the box
I’m looking to replace my tire soon on my GX. How’s the road noise with these tires?
Impressively quiet for being ATs. I’ve had them on for about 15,000 miles and they’ve been great to me.
@ If you don’t mind my asking approximately, what did you have to pay for them?
I got them on sale for 185/ea.
Thanks
My gx is sitting at 305k. These hogs are strong
I dropped mine all over the dirt lol
Haha, I’m honestly surprised that I didn’t get more dirt all over mine
