Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimps / Prawns | You and I Can Cook
Delicious, quick and easy Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp recipe cooked within 30 mins for a quick meal. Juicy shrimps are seared in butter and then tossed in a delicious creamy and cheesy sauce that is simply irresistible and finger licking. Serve it hot over a plate of rice, pasta, mashed potatoes or on its own with some crusty bread.
Lets check out the recipe
20 big shrimps (jumbo/tiger or any big shrimps)
(peel and devein, wash and marinate with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper pwd, set aside for 15 to 20 mins). I have left tails on but its optional
Ingredients :
Extra virgin olive oil 1Tbsp for frying + 1 Tbsp for the sauce
Unsalted butter 1 tbsp for frying + 1 tbsp for the sauce
8 - Garlic cloves chopped
3/4 cup chicken stock
3/4 cup cream (Heavy cream/ whipping cream)
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese ( shredded or grated)
2 tsp lime juice
Black pepper pwd - 3/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Parsley chopped - 2 tbsp
Method:
Heat the butter and olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Add prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are lightly browned. set aside
Sauce :
Heat butter and olive oil in the same pan over medium heat
Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Add pepper pwd
Add chicken stock to the skillet, bring to the boil
Add lime juice
Lower the heat and add the Cream and stir to combine, bring it to the boil
Add the parmesan and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Garnish with chopped parsley
serve it over a plate of rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, crusty bread.

Wont the chicken stock n sea food flavour clash ?
No it doesn’t clash. In fact it enhances the flavor. You can substitute chicken stock with white wine also and allow it to reduce. Thanks

You can use parboiled rice, idli rice/ mutambo rice or a mix of boiled rice + raw rice. Thanks
