NKJV uses "quickly" in verse 11 which, according to Strong's, is "tachy" meaning without delay, speedily. So futurists must be linguistic contortionists to think it means 2000+ years to fulfillment. Jesus is NOT a liar!

The verse reads "[2Co 5:8 KJV] We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." The actual words of 2 Corinthians 5:8 provide a different point than what Zach is attempting to counter. Paul is stating a preference, a desire. He is not making an emphatic doctrinal statement about our logistics immediately after death.

There seems to be two dynamics to the letters being given to the churches. First off, “the” church in Sardis, may be several groups who gather in separate houses not just one single group. If we think that way then you have to consider multiple pastors, teachers, maybe prophets are being addressed and then the second group is the congregations of these churches being addressed. The leaders need be aware of how they are impacting the body and shepherding the body in all of these places Jesus is addressing.

Jesus appears to John as the high priest in the midst of His body (the churches). We see How Jesus being the true High Priest is very well aware of the issues in the church like a medical examiner diagnosing the health of His body. He is sanctifying His people because wrongful attitudes have crept in, wrongful doctrines and wrongful people. Even though He’s addressing believing churches that doesn’t mean these churches are only believing members. This would have been during the time of the great falling away as well. He warns Sardis that if they do not repent He will come as a thief but this doesn’t mean if they do repent then He wouldn’t come, I believe at “the” coming, His coming wouldn’t be against them as well. The Revelation isn’t meant to warn of Jerusalem’ judgement alone but it was also given for the churches sobriety as believers. This fits the pattern that we see from Peter’s letters, Paul’s letters, James, etc.

Lord help me, i think i can clarify why it's an erroneous question to ask "can you lose your salvation?". No one has ever lost their salvation, ever. This is why, the old covenant (OC) was a covenant of works and salvation came through Christ in judgment in AD70, Christ in the new covenant (NC) fulfilled the old covenant. We find in Ezekiel 33:14 ff, also in Ezekiel 18:21 -22, 24 "But if a wicked person TURNS AWAY from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. 24 But when a righteous person TURNS AWAY from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die." THERE IT IS!!! The idea of "turning away" is where the so-called "lose his salvation" idea comes from, but it has not been adjudicated yet... he is not saved yet, he is waiting in Hades, he will be judged on his works, which only comes in AD70 when his verdict will be determined. He was never saved, he never lost anything. But his acts of righteousness will count for nothing if he "turns away" and does evil. You see it! This is not applicable in the new covenant. Ezekiel teaches how they could "turn away" (lose their salvation, which he has not earned yet) from works of righteousness and be saved at the judgment of the old covenant Israel (the body of the dead ones, the OC body, the lowly body, body singular in original text, see Philippians 3:21). This law/concept is NOT applicable in the new covenant, because in the NC God is the Author and Finisher of our faith/salvation. Nothing can pull us away from the love of God (Romans 8:35). It seems the law of the OC, covenant of works, which a man becomes righteous and then unrighteous (transgressor) to be judged at the end of the age only applies to the OC Israelites. So in the OC, you could act one way and then act another way, offer acceptable sacrifices and be righteous again. That's not how it "works" in the New Covenant. The issue seems to be in the 40 years transition period when both covenants overlapped, after the resurrection, during the Millennium, the second exodus, some Jews believed in Christ and were saved at that time, namely before the judgment. During this time, many were simply followers of Christ, those who loved Christ' teachings and tasted of the good things of the Spirit, but obviously "were not of us", meaning they were not believers. The type who does not accept our Lord as their God and Savior. They look the part, because they learn from Christ but are not believers. THOSE, they are the ones who "turn away" like Ezekiel said. Backsliding and turning away is a typical characteristic of the old covenant way. Therefore, everyone who has ever believed in Christ as their Lord and Savior has never ever lost their salvation, it's not covenantally possible. We got in because of the Father's gift to His Son, Christ's purchase sealed the deal, nothing can take that away from God and His Christ, nothing, no one can turn away. I know the stories of the "fallen pastors" and the rest of the horror stories of the so-called believer who played the part very well, then "turned away" but they did not belong to us (1 John 2:19). They played the part and rejected the Light. We are misapplying the laws of the covenants in the 40 year overlap and confusing the laws, putting the new wine in the old skins, that's a no!-no! So, in the OC, men turned one way and then turned another way, just like after the Exodus in the wilderness, they did not keep faith, rather turned to the gods of Egypt, but in the NC it's by God's grace and Christ obedience to fulfill the Mosaic Law by which He has purchased the redemption for His glorious body (Philippians 3:21), namely the church that men were giving His Righteousness to our sin-debt account. NOT by works but by faith alone in Christ alone, this God-man who alone saves men. 1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves those born of Him. God gives life and God does not make mistakes and does not take it away.

I have two issues with what you folks are teaching. #1) I do not see why it's necessary to be a Calvinist to be a Full-Preterist. It seems to me you can embrace libertarian freewill and remain a Full-Preterist. #2) Although I have not heard Mike teach on this, it seems to me that Old Earth Creationism and Intelligent Design is a much better fit with Full-Preterism than Young Earth Creationism! At the 31min 45 sec mark Mike correctly says how 70AD was not only relevant to earthly things it was absolutely essential to what was going on in Heaven! Remember in Job how Satan was roaming the earth, how he was accessing the Throne of God and making accusations against those who feared the Lord. That whole dynamic and relationship changed at The Cross, The Resurrection and at AD70. A point NEVER talked about by End Times teachers.
