You would need to be experienced with excellent maintenance, and the God's on your side to cut this way without jamming the bar. Yes you can but should you? No.

Yup, that's what I heard too since I had a walnut with a T Post it had grown around. Logger cut about 8 walnuts last fall and that tree had to be taken down as new fence was going in. I said cut it down and if it's not worth anything then I'll keep it cause maybe an artistic person will want the discolored wood for something special. I watched from the house as Amish buyers fuss over the logs. No idea what happened but after the Amish left the logger wrote me a check for $9,000. Logs didn't look like much to me and I was hoping to get $1,200- 1,500 for them. You just never know.

This is super hard even with wedges.. it’s super hard to not get pinched and can with proper technique and it’s a tree looked this.. takes a lot of time now how much time nose in or not to do cuts like this. It’s you gonna do it wrong 1000x before you ever do it right

Wonder if anybody has ever bored out some holes in an es bar with a hole saw or theike to reduce weight and see if its worthwhile? Ive got an old 20" one i might experiment on,just to see if it stays ridgid enough and feels much different. Ive only got one rollomatic e laminated bar,or else id try them too
