Leisha & Kate, I too hate the smart shuffle option on Spotify. You have to click the shuffle button until it goes back to regular shuffle (icon without the sparklies on it). Then you won't hear all those random songs they add in that you "might like". I don't usually like the suggested songs either! Was pleased to see the regular shuffle option is still a thing.
aaaah, now that makes sense. Never saw the smart shuffle option because I generally dont shuffle, but does explain a lot !

Leisha, I completely agree about the Spot algorithm. It's incredibly heavy-handed, and it actually is VERY difficult to not let their 'suggestions' infiltrate your choices/playlists, what shows in your feed. I HATE the fact that I spend 10 hours curating a playlist for a friend or an event, and they listen to it, and when it ends THEY PLAY SUGGESTED TRACKS, and at least as far as I've seen it's next to impossible to edit in such a way that that DOESN'T happen. First realized this when I spent a REALLY LONG time curating a playlist for a friend, with a specific theme, and she msgs me the next day, 'oh, I was surprised to hear blahblahblah on this playlist!' Well, yeah, that IS SURPRISING because I didn't put it there. Ugh. Maddening. I'm a musician and making playlists (I used to make mix CDs, and before that mix TAPES) and I take very seriously when I construct something with a certain flow/rhythm. When we had control over our chosen format it wouldn't ROLL over into other nonchosen songs, and it wouldn't ever 'shuffle' (I even make sure the fadeout of the previous song is complimentary in rhythm and key to the NEXT song.). THIS ALL FEELS INCREDIBLY PERSONAL, even though I know it's really not. But it's yet another example of where technology is forcibly taking my choices from me, and it affects how I choose to communicate. My love language. Eeeeggghhhhawwww. So invasive.

Awesome that Leisha is still practicing her drums. Such a musical talent!❤. Kate would of loved camping if she grew up in a house with lots of grass in the yard and family camping on the weekends. Spending time with mother nature is relaxing snd stress free!

I absolutely love making playlists, I actually spent some of the day today making a new one. I’ve been in a “hot and spicy” mood lately(if you know what I mean) so those kinda songs are in the playlist. Also I’m a country girl at heart, from the prairies so country music was always around me.

Yes, Grease 1 Danny Zuko says rockin and rollin and whatnot and I love both Grease films so much. I grew up on grease 2 though . Me and my cousin would play act Grease and Grease 2. We both wanted to be the same character so one time my cousin said lets mix them so I could be Danny and he could be Johnny lol I loved those days...

There might be old lesbian vs new lesbian stereotypes. Things have changed.
Shoes: If quantity is a stereotype, it's about options. I have never been able to afford Docs. I got some Doc socks in London once. I have about 20 pairs of shoes. Five of them are wingtips. I have two pairs of boots, one is brown, the other black. Jackets: I only wear them when its temporaturely appropriate. I do have eight coats. Color, weight, etc.. I still think short nails have their benefits. Camping? It depends on who the camping pals are. Just me and my family, back in the day, it was OK but also a lot of work when it was me, my partner, and the three kids. It was only rad when there were other couples joining us and only for 2.5 days, so it was enough to rest before having to clean up the camping area with enough time to relax. There is so much planning to prepare for it, it can be rediculous, despite the right bedding and several tents.
Lesbian camping to me is hiking and camping or biking and camping. You carry your gear across rivers and mountains and enjoy the wilderness. 💅🌈.
Kate, sounds like you have smart shuffle enabled when listening to your playlists, you can turn it off so it only shuffles songs in your playlist. Sincerely, a 23 year old pants enjoyer 🤣

Who would want to go camping and do things like experience natural beauty, go on epic hikes, watch shooting stars at night, fall asleep to the sounds of a flowing river and wake up in the morning to birds chirping or frogs calling or have encounters with wildlife? Who the heck would want to do that? Sounds really awful!! Much better to stay at home within one's four walls. I mean you can always watch TV and see these things, right? You can look at your backyard and see the same views day after day that is familiar and the best thing is, you can do that well into your '80s. Sit on your couch I mean. Watch TV. Look at the same things everyday. Maybe get out once in awhile to go to dinner. That is a much better lifestyle, right? Right?
