St. Brigit helps us cross the threshold & start again ☘️ #storytelling #inspiration #ireland #saint
Beannachtaí Lá ‘le Bríde! Happy St. Brigit's Day! Today I take you into an Irish farmhouse, circa 1850, to observe the beautiful custom of the threshold and then to listen into a story that was often told to explain why Brigit's feast day falls on the 1st of February. Brigit is a good friend to us as we practice the art of starting fresh and letting more joy and light through the door of our lives.
My question for you this week:
What do you want to LET IN? (Go down on your knees, open your eyes, and let Brigit in)
You might desire to let in light, friendship, freshness, plenty, kindness, renewal, or something else. Share with us in the comments and we'll cheer you on in opening that door!
I love your comments and read every one with appreciation and gratitude. Thank you!

You are so beautiful, Kate. ❤. So glad I found you!
Wonderful!! I’m so glad I happened upon you!! 🙏🏼
I am bringing in more renewed health, strength, stamina, vitality, and patience ! Aho! Thank you, Bridget!🙏🏻💎🙌🏼🌀🕊✨️🧈
That's my birthday! February 1st. Mom family was from county Mayo. I choose to see The Brigids as a clan of Goddesses and community leaders. I will add them to my family of Angels. Imbolc. Glad to find you. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
Thank you Kate. I am trying to find my well. Currently there’s too much noise in my world for meditation or communing with nature. Depression is the result. Listening to you is soothing.
Kate it must be a gift from Heaven that I found your channel today on UA-cam. You share so much love and magic: thank you! P.S. my daughter Bridget is studying art in art school and is so creative, I chose the name because I heard it means “strength” ❤
I am letting in companionship and friendship, love, light, peacefulness and prosperity ❤❤❤ I am so happy to have found your channel!! I looooved this video so much and I am definitely going to be doing a St Brigitte cross tonight and will also leave a cloth outside for her to bless it!!! Although I live in Canada and it's hills of snow outside but I think I can make it. Thank you tones and tones dear and have a blessed St Brigitte day❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was my first and favorite poem.
Thank You 🙏 ❤
I always thought her name was spelled Brigid not Brigit that was always the spelling I was taught growing up for the last 60 years in Irish schools 🤔
Thank you so much
lovely ! i bought butter yesterday for the first time in months ! i'm letting in friendships, ease and joy
Rath ort, my friend! As a published writer, I do my work because what is in me what to come out and be expressed. I share it as I can. In common parlance I am not a "success", but I feel very blessed that I have something to share. I am responsible for what I have to give, not how it is received. Thank you for these insights, Kate.
What you say is so important and I agree whole-heartedly. You are a success indeed - with your talent, your willingness to share, and your faithfulness to your gift and vision. Let's agree that that IS success - the kind that matters most. I am grateful to know you!
Loving this content 🤍 Thank you.
Thankyou for sharing how things were done, so wise and loving, I can here more stories to come.. between the lines so to speak, much love and God bless. ❤🦄
Over the past few days, I have been wanting to know more about Brigid. I know nothing and here you are! I was confused with her being a saint and a goddess...I see now, she is both. Im going to put out a cloth tonight and invite her in to my home and life. I would like to develop a personal relationship with her here in Western Massachusetts. The family farm outside of Kenmare is still thriving. It is said that our family has been there since the beginning of time. Thank you.
I love Goddess Brigit so much.
Loved listening to you ! ☺️🙏🏻☘️💚☘️🥰 My dear friend since childhood comes to mind a little extra. Beacause her father is from Ireland 😊 also I think Bridget has been trying to connect with me,so I feel very honored and will definitely celebrate and let her in. Also what a great time to reconect with friends one haven't met in a while. Thank You dear 😊 ❤️ I'm letting in more joy and creativity.
So pleased and happy I happened upon your channel. World needs a break from all the stress right now. Thank you. Go well 🌻🌹🌷🌺
I’d like you as a friend. Bridget, Brighid, Bride is special for me. My late father’s birth date was 1.2.34 which jumped out at me as we signed his death certificate. A quest to honour his life that followed led to a silent retreat on Iona in which I discovered through meditation that my grandmother who died just before I was born had visited there to honour his coming of age many years before, because Iona is sacred to his birth saint, St Bride, and her relationship with Mary. What a revelation from across the threshold! You have given me another dimension to Bridget which is truly beautiful. The friend. Thank you for sharing.
Hello Kate and thanks for sharing. Is it a replacement of the Celtic Imbolc? Greetings.Satoshi
1850 would have been in the middle of the famine. Doubt if there would have been butter in a lot of homes.
As always, thank you for the video! I LOVE the idea of putting a Brigid blessed cloth in my pillowcase, so I am totally adopting that idea! Thank you!
As I read when established new Irish in 1922, flip Guinness design harp as symbol of new national state , harp is symbol of national pride , life and death too , angles .harp in trinity college Dublin Ireland . Actually harp origin in ancient Egypt.
Actually I learned last year that herp is symbol of Ireland. It’s ancient musical instrument .
Thank you Kate. I will pass on seeds of your wisdom at an Imbolc event I am hosting on Saturday and pass on your channel details. Le Grá ❤
Thresholds and Beginnings - very precious concepts. Portals into what is to come.
I am 65 and coming out of some of the darkest days of my life, loss of six dear family members in a short period of time, a daughter living in a dangerous situation for 14 months, an unexpected lawsuit against me (which turned out ok) and several other things. Stressed out does not begin to describe my life this time last year. I got involved with an Episcopal church recently, began praying daily, and started reading about the saints. That's when I met Bridgit, both goddess and saint.. yes and yes. I am a gardener and depression kept me from any gardening last year. I am a grandma, usually working hard to keep my home a peaceful, welcoming place, but not this past year. Once I began praying, going to the Episcopal Church, and once I met Bridgit, everything changed. This Saturday, Feb 1, I will be outside getting my neglected gardens ready for Spring and this next week I'll be getting my house back in order, a place of hearth, home, family, peace, light. Things are getting better now and my new Bridgit statue is on my mantle. This is long, but I'm not sorry. Why did your video pop up in the suggested videos tonight when I have not watched any similar videos? I think it's Bridgit talking to me, telling me things will continue to be better. If you read all of this, thank you and blessings to you.
Thank you. I will be letting in vitality, after my first ever bout of COVID
Im Opening the door to Love. My prayer is, I invite the memory of God to return again to my awareness. ❤

So so beautiful thank you ☘️💚
My 1st discovery of your channel. Most warm positive energy, you have. I've subscribed to support your channel and look forward to learning more of my lineage's traditions, beliefs, practices, and History. Best Thoughts ... Beth Bartlett Sociologist/Behavioralist and Historian PS: my lineage is largely of County Kerry, with Ancestry from Cork, Mayo, and Dublin, and my DNA Origin is as expected, Irish of Basque Origin and Ashkenazi Jew. Recently it was confirmed through DNA validating the "Tribe of Dan" aka "Tuatha de Dannan". (Irish History suffered a washing by the Oppressors. Don't be surprised by the forthcoming of vast amazing truth, and 8t supporting my hypothesis that Ireland was the original "Seat of Power", it is known it was the "Seat of Education" and some know it was pre Yeshua/Jesus and pre Roman based Christianity". Note: (Celtic has been used to confuse. Celtic appears to have been Germanic, ie: Roman, Vikings, Angles, Saxons, Jutes, and Normans, may have a Celtic influence, but the Irish is Gaelic. However, influences cross over, as it did in DNA AdMix, though that be far less than I expected.) Delicious Discoveries are enlightening and are most Positive. ☘️ 🇮🇪 🏹
Especially in the light of what's been happening to my country since Trump's inauguration, I'd like to let in hope and kindness.
I'm letting in forgiveness. I'm letting in love. I'm letting in friendship. Thank you. That was beautiful
I too am always interested in holistic traditional ways of staying healthy so thank you for this beautiful offering. 🙏🏼💜✨🪶
Thank you Kate! This year what we will be to letting into our lives will be 3 new chicks this Spring to replace my favorite hen ZaZu who passed away of old age.
Love the boomerang cross of Saint Bridget. The cross and all its love represented returning always. 🎉
Enjoyed this so much, Kate. I keep Brigid close to my hearth and heart💜🪵🙏🏼✨🪶
Thank you for the beautiful story. I am adding buttered bread to that nights menu!
Yes, lovely story of Mary and Brigid. Yes, I have long suspected the Irish connection.... but was it not Mary Magdalene who was the new mother, probably there with Mother Mary, her beloved "mother-in-law" ?
Loved your talk of St Brigid’s Day and how to celebrate the feast. I have been to Kildare a couple of times and plan another trip with a group in May. I find your teachings not only informative, but soothing and uplifting. Thank you! ( Sister BJ, of the Anamchara Fellowship… an Episcopal dispersed monastic community.
Love listening to you I remember being churched
BRAVO!! So true🙏 l have experienced this many times (with a little help from the mother-in-law from Hell!!🤷🏻♀️)
Thank you!
I have recently discovered your chanel... And I love that you focus on stories that spread not only folklore but creativity, kindness and joy.
