Here's a link: www.katechadbourne.com/product/sacred-animals-of-the-celts-course/ If you're interested in Irish and Celtic mythology, in animals, and in nourishing your creative spark, we would absolutely love to have you with us to explore these vital mythic tales and energies! Please feel welcome to write to me with any questions about the course: kate@katechadbourne.com
So, I decided a couple weeks ago that I need to really dig deep into my Celtic roots and then you pop up on my you tube feed. There are a couple of wise women in Ireland that have channels here that I follow. When I was a child my daddy and his mom would speak Gaelic to each other from time to time. I was involved in Irish dancing and my daddy would play piano and sing some Irish songs and he would tell Irish jokes. My grandmothers parents came over right before she was born and are from Cork and Munster areas. I am so thrilled to have found you! I miss Lunenburg, but life is good here. you look wonderful.
Mer Cait, these are such lovely, cozy traditions. Storytelling by the fire, a season of connecting, bringing these practices back into our life is a wonderful idea. I’m still thinking on the Ulster woman, I will retell that story at some point. In the meantime, how exciting that you and playing your harp more, and writing! BTY where is that first novel?? 😊 I’ve been playing with my whistle lately, though because the cat seems very bothered by the noise, I ordered a Shush whistle. Have you heard of them? They are muted so practicing is not so shrill. I think anything accomplished “by a fire” takes on an enchanting quality. Go raibh maith agat mo chara
Sibeal a stor, it's so marvelous to see you here! I haven't heard of the Shush whistle but now I definitely want one. :) Let's spend as much time as possible this winter practicing our arts by the fire. There lies myth and beauty and homeliness, and all that is so nourishing and good for us. Love knowing that you're going to tell "The Ulsterwoman!" Gach beannacht leat a thaisce!
Hi Kate. Thank you for your offering. I came across it this morning and have thoroughly enjoyed it the 3 videos I’ve seen so far. I’m a lifelong musician and as I neared my 60s I found I was very dissatisfied with the world of classical music. I was drawn to Irish traditional folk music and ultimately decided to retire and focus on Irish culture. My Irish lineage is quite distant but I can’t deny how much it speaks to me. I’m looking forward to spending more time painting this season and learning more tunes. Fiddling brings me more joy than I ever imagined. I’m looking forward to many more stories and proverbs. Go raibh maith agat. Kelly
Tá fáilte romhat, a Kelly, agus go raibh maith agatsa! I love hearing your plans for a creative and connected season: painting and fiddling and enjoying it to the hilt. Brilliant! Wonderful that you found your way to a music that speaks so powerfully to you. Thank you so much for sharing your creative practice with us here, and lovely to meet you!
This was delightful - thank you. We are enjoying the last warm days of Autumn here in Vermont and I am finishing up garden chores but soon it will get cold and I will turn inward (both in my home and mind and soul). This is my time to read by the fire and spend time baking and nurturing.
I love that image and the feeling of turning inward: beautiful. May this season of baking and nurturing and reading by the fire bring you peace and joy. And thank you so much for sharing what this season is for you. You're inspiring!
Oh, I love what you share and HOW you share it: you are so clearly a writer. I am right there with you and my little pet, self-doubt, but also my other little pet called "this is fun," and you said it perfectly: we move forward. Good luck and please keep me posted. I'm excited to meet another novelist planning a winter of writing!
Hi Kate. My name is Tatiana. I'm from Brazil. You inspired me so much with your words and tenderness. Sadly, I don't feel very connected with the folklore of my own land. I do prefer the tales and stories of the British islands. They fascinate me. I really enjoyed your advice about collecting stories... I'll try to write some of them and to make a little drawing of a symbol connected to the story. I just drew this healing bird in my sketchbook after listening the story of a man searching for an enchanted bird, and when one of its golden feathers fell from the sky into his hand, he had this deep, sacred feeling of having understood a greater truth about his own self. Thank you so much 💚🧚🏼♂☘
Tatiana, and now you have inspired me and all of us with your beautiful description of this story AND of your creative and heartfelt response to it: thank you! I'm so glad you're here. You have what I think of as "the Irish feeling" which is warmth and connectedness, an interest in people, and an openness. Thank you so much for your comment and for your kindness!
Muire lourdes, guigh orainn. Naomh bernadette, guigh orainn. She's here in dublin for two days her relics or tellis de call it, i think? We all need a little prayer, lots of pilgrims today. Greetings kate, slan thamill. K

Kate! Cate Samuels here...oh my goodness. I didn't know you had a channel. I just put mine up.

Hooray for all of that! So much FUN!
Kate, how do we get your first novel? I think I’m going to surprise my music friends with a scéal when they come over.

Greetings Kenneth a chara! We definitely all need a little prayer, and I love that you share yours here. Go raibh maith agat as an bheannacht.
