I'm still so back and forth on Egwene going to the waste - my problem with her not going is - what will she do all season if not? We know Nyn and Elayne will go to Tanchico and we know Liandrin and the BA have gone there. We even know Min will there. I'm still in the dark as to what Mat's story will be as I'm quite sure he isn't there at Rhuidean. I feel that Perrin will head off to TV and Loial with him. I need to get the map out and think more with it in front of me now you bring that up. I find it delicious that we really don't know!

yeah it's going to be huge - and I think the coup will be a much quieter affair because it would be too much to have a repeat beat and it works best that it is BA. After this the Tower will be reeling and Elaida will step in (this may be why Elaida comes back to Tar Valon even) to clean up the mess, but the quiet Stilling will cause the Tower to split and ... I'm so bad that I want the Lanfear mirror of mist because it will make me weep and scream - is there something wrong with me?

@koalasedai agree w/ your quieter coup take. Nah, you're not bad for the Lanfear MoM thing. After the show expanded on the Siuaraine relationship to my delight, S2E7 po'd me. Tho I think it's Daes Dae'mar by 2 masters, & No one can convince me Siuan didn't smile at the end of that scene.

Just to clarify - I'm not trying to be critical of you (all the love forever!). I think it's maybe just the idea of being "team Ihvon dying" that felt bad to hear, given the context of colorism issues in what is otherwise a pretty progressively cast show.

wow, see I just don't even think that way - I often forget the real life connections and I am thinking only of what impacts I see for the characters and their development. When reading the book I never stopped to think anything like this, I went with the story. I would never even think - oh Maksim was saved because he is Rafes partner, how sad it could be perceived that way. but you make some good points, still I just have a feeling and I'm going with it :D

thanks for commenting because this is so much fun! now you could be right - Moiraine sees the explosions in the Tower, then the black ajah come racing out through the streets and Alanna confronts Liandrin. The description has Alanna in the Hall helping defend Siuan, but if Liandrin gets down into the streets, then Alanna could too. I just feel that the Coup is set for this Season but not as the opening, so I'm playing with all kinds of jigsaw pieces that seem to fit, but mmmmmm do they?

oooooh now that's a great question - I need to watch that scene again but my memory was that she blasted her to the ground. Then add to that she has taken Rand and Moiraine abandoned her. So thinking this through, she wouldn't be a broken Amyrlin if she had been stilled, she wouldn't be Amyrlin. So Lanfear believes she has broken her spirit. Wrong there bitch!

@@koalasedai But it could explain why Liandrin is on the throne. But if she witnessed that Moiraine and Siuan always had a relationship it's possible that she is reinstated temporarily as an Amyrlin but as Lanfears puppet. This is a diverge from the book but could still work really well within the story, it would put central focus on Lanfear as Aes Sedais number one enemy.

@@alexanderericson8628 mmmm but everything points to the scene they saw on the thunder stage being the scene Rafe said was basically the opening scene (or at least very early in E1) with 20 mins of women shredding each other. the narrative is exactly that and starts with Siuan on the Amyrlin Seat summoning Liandrin and accusing her of being BA. Liandin on the throne with Lanfear seated so she is higher than her has to be TAR or at least Lanfear entering her dream. How would it be possible Lanfear is boldly sitting like that otherwise?

@@koalasedai What do you think about the idea that Lanfear disguises herself as Siuan? Because she has the same smirk as Lanfear Matt picked up on this while kissing Moiraine. I really liked that idea I think that would give Moiraine personal reasons to kill her toying with her only love.

I think so too - and what was seen on the thunder stage certainly makes that seem pretty spot on. I would say the scenes we got in the teaser are the coup because it sounds like the BA fight was all inside the Hall of the Tower. so exciting!

@@koalasedai No, the scenes in the teaser are most definitely from the opening of S3 ep1 and they only showed 5 minutes of it where Liandrin is exposed as BA and uses the power to fight the other Aes Sedai. There's Aes Sedai being cut in half by her, columns collapsing and explosions and, at one point, Liandrin is being "burned" by Siuan (look at her face in the teaser and her singed red dress) and Alanna is also present in the Hall and defends the Amyrlin with Leanne. Rafe said that "it goes on for 10 more minutes in a similar fashion". So, the scenes with Alanna hurling the pavement towards someone (probably Liandrin) in the streets of TV and fighting with Liandrin can only be from that opening scene, trying to stop Liandrin and her allies from fleeing TV. It's also where one of her warders will be killed. The coup won't have Alanna involved nor Liandrin and will happen later in the season after we've properly been introduced to Elaida, probably as a result of the events and revelations in the opening episode of S3 that cause the Tower schism. Oh, and Moiraine does go back to TV, in fact she's in the streets of TV during the opening scene and witnesses what's going on in the Tower when there's an explosion (it was in the 5 min clip shown). I wonder if she'll be involved in the fighting as well.

I have so many more thoughts now after 12 hours with TDW and I totally agree, that's Rhuarc with Rand and the billowing cloak. I'm working now on putting Rands scenes into order and that has helped me a lot as teasers and trailers love putting things together in ways that confuse hehe. I agree that the visual of the clan chiefs will be great for viewers, particularly non-book readers. I'm convinced that is Sevanna - so outrageous looking, but not in the book way. I love it!
