US Civil War_First Battle of Bull Run

In this second installment of the civil war series, I toured Manassas National Battlefield to review the First Battle of Bull Run which took place on July 21, 1862. This was the first force on force engagement of the Civil War, a battle that shocked the nation in the realization that this war would not be over in 90 days. Many difficult lessons were learned this day, lessons that would drive future strategies in planning, resourcing, training and logistics.
