I was diagnosed with HIV in October of 2021… as you can imagine this came as a huge shock.
I’ve struggled with many things in my life… addiction… sexuality are just a couple.
I took the decision on world aids day 2023 to start talking about my diagnosis in the hope of educating people about the facts and myths around HIV.
But most importantly I want to support others who maybe struggling with their own diagnosis and show you cannot only live with HIV… but you can thrive.
HIV isn’t a death sentence anymore… but the stigma can be.

HIV myths ?

It is not possible to transmit AIDS, which is stage 3 HIV. However, it is possible to spread HIV to others in some circumstances. A person can transmit the virus via blood, semen, pre-ejaculate, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk.
Some common HIV myths are that people can contract the virus through touching, kissing, blood transfusions, and mosquito bites. These beliefs are not accurate.
Many treatment options are available to help prevent HIV from progressing to AIDS. Anyone concerned that they may have HIV or experience exposure to the virus can speak with a healthcare professional about prevention methods and testing.
By dispelling myths about HIV and AIDS, more people can seek diagnosis and treatment early and lead long, healthy lives.

@Peter.c106 #hiv #aids #addictionrecovery Three years ago my life started changing for the better. Change is possible, but you have to want change for change to happen. Since October of 2021 when I received my HIV diagnosis I haven’t looked back. I’m currently in the best shape of my life, and am doing things I couldn’t have imagined doing previously.

My birthday is on August 5th but due to the kids now being on there summer holidays most won't be around on my birthday, so, I got it early. Thanks guys for an unexpected surprise.
