    It’s so wild how complicated this is. I think I’m terms of User interface usability, I’d prefer an entire keypad with many buttons, instead of the press-and-hold 2 buttons simultaneously. You almost need a masters degree for this, and I can’t just attribute that to the language barrier between Chinese and English either. Woosh, thanks for explaining it and sharing! I’ve spent 25 years as a software engineer, almost exclusively on User interfaces (“front end”) and I’m not a “user experience” expert, but this would be such an excellent interview challenge for UX designers. A gold mine, really. How would you design it better? What would you take away? What buttons would you add? Apple would do it nicely I’m sure. Steve Jobs, we need ya man!

    Did the reeds hold up? I had an old builder tell me if im gonna use the saw as a work saw, to leave the reed stop in so i dont get a snapped reed. He said if its gonna be a hot rod show runner, it was ok to leave the reed stop out. Just wondering how yours has held up over time. He explained how to tune the reeds as well, but mine gave such a huge boost in power that i was pleased enough to leave them as is with the reed stop in place. Mine is a 655BP with other mods as well.

    Hi there, Thanks for your video, it’s helped me get to grips with setting the timer. Can you tell me how to choose between manual and auto when it starts up on the timer. Thank you ☺️ EDIT Also, after many attempts of going through the timer setting process, I find I have to press ok after setting the first timer for switching on, otherwise it reverts back to the previous time I had set. The biggest problem I’m finding though, is that the heater isn’t turning off using the second timer. When I go out to my garage, the timer is no longer showing and the heater is still running. The only time it shuts off with the timer, is if I set the timer while it’s running!

  • @PainterD54

    You haven't learned by now that those heaters are not made to burn waste oil. They're diesel heaters, made to burn diesel! Waste oil is dirty, it even says "waste", so why do you think it should burn clean enough for that heater? Are you filtering it? Also, those heaters are NOT 8KW, they are barely 5KW so that's why they are all the same size. They lied about them being 8KW that's all.

  • @PainterD54
    @PainterD54 7 місяців тому

    By all the videos on here it looks like if you filter your fuel, the heater will run longer without having it to be cleaned so often. Best thing to do is to replace the cheap green fuel line with some better quality line and install a filter between the tank and pump and you'll be good to go.

    Recommendations 3of4 .. run unit completely inside the trailer with the ONLY exception the exhaust pipe. Sleeve the pipe where it exits the unit.. have a fan blowing on exhaust the whole time. Mount high enough that the exhaust is ALWAYS sloping or straight down. Never have a U or dead spot in the pipe.

  • @gbear1005
    @gbear1005 8 місяців тому

    Reccomendations 2of4 mixture is very well filtered waste motor or veggie oil 40 percent, pure diesel 50 percent, 10 percent petrol. Start w pure, run on mixture, shut down on pure at HIGH for several minutes.

  • @gbear1005
    @gbear1005 8 місяців тому

    Recommendations... part 1 of 4 two fuel sources, one pure diesel/heating oil/kerosene and the other your waste oil mix. Manifold together .. use pure to start and shut down.. mixture while running.

    Other controllers can set range for pump rate in Hz and fan RPM to accommodate incremental elevation change. Can this controller act similarly? How if so? What does Alpine mode do exactly? Unless it senses specific elevation, I can't see how a single alpine setting could accommodate elevation changes over hundreds of meters. I hear pump slow, but a fixed setting can't suit 1500 AND 3000 meters. I'm getting white stinky smoke at 1500m elevation with new 2km unit, which had worked fine here for a few weeks. Alpine mode doesn't help. Consensus: mix is the problem, so advice is to alter pump Hz and fan RPM. HELP thx and hny.

    Meh - easy way is to grab a hoover, stick the nozzzle onto the exhaust & let it suck.It will clean out the combustion chamber enough that if you wisely refilled the tank with fresh diesel, the heater will refire - it may take a few goes. Then learn & only fill these delicate machines with fresh diesel - they are NOT waste oil burners, It not verk. For 10 minutes after it finally refires, you will have ALL the smoke btw - it clears eventually. These run for c.a 30 hours on any old muck - then they crap the bed. Use fresh fuel & run it on setting 1 - thank me later.
