Thé Pinneer P38 gets a boyesen reed upgrade 😍

My Pioneer P38 gets dual stage reed upgrade from Boyesen, found my gas cap wasn’t venting which is why it was playing around with saw so much. Boyesen is an amazing company great to deal with . Dramatically change this saw. I went milling afterwords and omg it pulls.

Did the reeds hold up? I had an old builder tell me if im gonna use the saw as a work saw, to leave the reed stop in so i dont get a snapped reed. He said if its gonna be a hot rod show runner, it was ok to leave the reed stop out. Just wondering how yours has held up over time. He explained how to tune the reeds as well, but mine gave such a huge boost in power that i was pleased enough to leave them as is with the reed stop in place. Mine is a 655BP with other mods as well.

Held up fine but I remember it’s a bit of a hot rod.

Thanks for the vid. Looking to get these reeds for my P42. Did you end up leaving the stop out?

I left it out and I am thinking to sand it down so it opens up a little especially at high idle. It could take little more but runs great
