Backpacking The Grand Canyon
Hello! this was our 3 day backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon starting May 6th 2024. We started on the South Kaibab trail down to Bright Angel campsite. We spent one day there hiking around the Colorado River, and Phantom Ranch, and hiked out in day 3 via the Bright Angel Trail.

Hello, this is a quick overview of the Tarptent Ranbiow Li 1p Dynema tent from Tarptent. This is by no means an in depth review, Just a quick overview of the shelter on an overnight trip I did back in May. I forgot that I took video of it. Oops! you can get way more information and specs from their website at: www.tarptent.com/product/rainbow-li/#tab-id-2 the actual weight is closer to 24 or 25...

Clingmans Dome 2 Night Backpacking Loop in the Smoky Mountains.
Переглядів 379Рік тому
this was a fun, but definately challenging for me, 2 night backpacking loop in the Smoky Mountains around Clingmans Dome. The total mileage ended up being around 25 miles or so. the first day is mostly downhill. The second and third day are mostly uphill. We completed this loop around July 14th. There were large portions of the Fourney Creek Trail and Appalachian Trail that were pretty overgrow...
Cumberland Gap White Rocks Overlook overnight backpacking trip.
Переглядів 163Рік тому
This was a two night trip, turned overnight. I was supposed to do the whole ridge trail, but plans changed. Either way, I was happy to get out there and see the White Rocks Overlook. I really think this should be a more popular trail, as it is absolutely beautiful out there. it was very cold, but very fun, even as a solo trip. I must say, that uphill is no joke! Happy Trails.

This was a short, but very fun overnight backpacking trip in the Grayson Highlamds. This was the kids first backpacking trip. Maybe I should have chose an easier trail? ha! we didn't have many views at the Thomas Knob shelter because of clouds, but it was beautiful most of the first and second day. thanks for Watching .
Overnight trip to Hanson's Point in the Red River Gorge
Переглядів 902 роки тому
#redrivergorge #backpacking #getoutside What is going on everyone, it has been a minute! This a video of a quick overnight trip out to Hanson's Point to see how my back would hold up while on a short backpacking trip. I hurt it pretty bad last year, and have basically been sedentary since then. Yeah, yeah, I know I look a litttle, well, a lot rough! That can happen when you are basically doing ...
Dolly Sods backpacking loop

This was an amazingly fun 3 day 2 night backpacking loop in the Dolly Sods wilderness. This was one of my favorite trips to date. The amount of bio-diversity this trail throws at you time and time again is nothing short of awesome. We followed the step by step itenary that we found on the hiking upward trail guide of this same trip. I highly recommend you check that trip guide out if you decide ...

This is another winter trip in the Smoky Mountains. This time my friend Jon was able to come out as well. this was supposed go be a trip around the Clingmans dome area, but when we arrived in the Smokies, we discovered that 441 was closed due to high winds and snow. we stopped at the Sugarlands visitor center backcountry permit office to see if they had any alternative trip ideas, and they sure...

Hello! this is another short winter trip, this time in the Red River Gorge. I have done this trip many times, but is it always such a fun one with a lot to see in around 5 or 6 miles. We hiked the Osborne bend trail in a bit to an unofficial trail that takes you out to the overlook, and where we ended up camping. We hiked out the second day alomg the river on the Douglas trail. My buddy from Te...

Niceeeeeeeeeeeee
Baller!
My man!
Loved the music on the background!! Added this to my list!!
Great job! That's a tough haul with those big packs, but you chose the correct time of year! I was there a couple weeks after you, to run that route. Love being in the Canyon! Thanks for taking us along!
Absolutely! Yeah, it was probably the toughest trio I have done to date. Whew! I couldn't imagine doing it when it was warmer!
How cool!!!!!
This is so cool Myle!!
Jenna!!!!! Thanks pal! I just know you're doing some super dope stuff!
Those views are awesome. Bucket list destination for me. Really cool video 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, Jason! I have no doubt in my mind you will make it out there! You have some great videos from all over!
@@MylesAway3 thank you 😁
This is really cool. You get such a different experience than folks that go as tourists and pay for the guided tours/excursions.
Thanks!
Lol, piss poor planning, very kind warning to others doing a similar trip. I love your videos!
It was a learning experience! Lol
Did the condensation line work?
That is awesome!!
Thanks!! It is!
@4:57
I love this area so much. Some beautiful hiking. Great video!
It really is! Wish I could go more. Ww should get the families out sometime! And thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Footage looks sharp! You had a perfect day out there. The weather was PERFECT!
Thanks. Yeah, I got pretty lucky! It was definitely appreciated. It was cool seeing you on live the other day.
Need to get you a Silky Big Boy saw.
Silky boy saw? Ok. I will check that out now! I appreciate the recommendation.
👉👍👈
🤟
I bought the Double Rainbow Li last year and absolutely love it. It's a palace inside. 3 overnights in various times of year, no condensation. One night was a drenching rain and completely dry. I set it up on a Tyvek footprint to keep the thing protected and clean. Added 225 paracord snake knot toggles to all the zippers and a paracord clothesline inside that comes in handy.
Good to hear! I definitely entertained the idea of that shelter over the 1p, but it is a bit much for what I do. I have to say though, I haven't heard too many bad things to be said from those who do own the double rainbow li. Folks love it!
Was at RRG with my Rainbow Li 10/20-22. Did a free stand out on a point. Highly recommend. Couple suggestions. Ditch the tent bag on trail. Just fold it up and place it on top your dry bag. It is much easier. I go nyloflume, tent, food bag. Carry 1 stake with cordage to be able to lift the non staked door. The rainbow li is slightly worse for air flow and sleeping with the door open (unless massive storm) helps a lot. Little to no condensation. Even in rain I just porch one door. Never had an issue.
Thanks for the tips. This shelter really is a do it all kind of one in my opinion. The set up options are excellent. I was pretty surprised how easily it sets up when not in free standing mode too. I will need to try the stake tie out as you mentioned. I appreciate it.
nice video Myles. Looks like you had a great time.
Thanks Gary. It sure was! But then again, any day out there is hard not to enjoy!
Absolutely beautiful!!
It really is. Folks are lucky to live around that type of wilderness!
it reminds me of those beach tent shelters but this have a mesh instead
Oh yeah! I see what you mean there. I have seen those in Florida before.
I’ve seen those tarp tents. I really like them. Gotta love that Gorge life
I agree. They are one of my favorite shelter brands. They make good stuff for sure! I do love getting out to the Gorge!
Beautifil trail! You are blessed to have had this experience!
Absolutely! It is amazing out there, and I'm hooked!
Can’t decide what’s prettier, the scenery of the guy manning the camera!
Ha!
Yuhh, we love a new shelter👏👏👏
That looks like a fun trip! Minus the bears of course!
Lol. It was fun for sure! Some tough climbs on that trip!
I love your style!!
Thanks@
Not the bears!!!!!
They definitely got our attention!
Very cool
Thanks!
oh wow! that was cool you came across a bear! this looks like a tough trip.
It kicked my butt for sure!
Great video thanks for sharig
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful!!
The smokies never disappoint.
Totally gotta swing by here!
I was really impressed by the views up there, and how well maintained the trails are.
Nice outing! Love when the temps drop and ice decorates everything
Same here! It changes the while feel!
This vid is a C- with vol on at all and a B with it completely off. He missed everything in the Evil Forest, dry beaver pond, the Serengeti, and photod a bomb site wo knowing it. He totally ignored sound advice from both females and was essentially alone except for when his dick got hard for his sister. Couldn't be married.
Awesome!!!!
Thanks!
Looks cold but awesome! Thanks!
It was cold for sure, but worth it!
It looks amazing out there!
This was my favorite trip to date!
I love Hansons Point. Easy hike out and absolutely gorgeous.
I like it out there for those reasons too. Excellent view, without a ton of miles.
Well done Milos, thank you for sharing!
You are very welcome. I love doing it, so win/win!
I was up there a little over a year ago. That mountain is a grind! The maps don’t show you most of the 2,000 foot elevation gain is in the last 1.7 miles. That’s tough! You had a nice outing. The view from White Rocks is amazing. Take care!
I agree, that view was totally worth it! And really, that 2k doesn't look tough on paper, but it is! Whew by the way, I appreciate your videos!
@@MylesAway3 Thanks Myles Away. I thought I was subscribed to your channel but wasn’t. I am now. Keep on getting out there! Take care!
how you doing?, Myles- Wow,this is incredible , 💫
Doing great! How are you? Just trying to find more time for backpacking somehow! Lol
So rad! Thanks!
Beautiful area. This is definitely on m bucket list. Nice video. New follower here. Crow
Hey, thanks for the sub! I did the same for your page. Yeah, it really is worth a trip. I knew it was nice put there, but dang!
Awesome video. I’ve only been to Oregon once but I sure want to go back. Green lake is where I stayed at for a few days. Incredible scenery out there. Really cool video and area 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Jason! Yeah, I was really blown away by how scenic it is out there! I'm just trying to get more experience on different trails like you! Lol. I could spend a week exploring around green lakes!
Memorable backpacking trip! Great job documenting your trek and sharing your experience on trail. Always a great time when you can be out in nature. Very beautiful area! 👍
It really was, and is. I will for sure always remember my forst trip out west. I can't wait to do more trips out there for sure!
It looks so pretty out there. Excellent video!
Thanks! It really is. One of the best trails I have been on!
Dude! That looks so dope, I'm glad you could find a landscape that rivals your majesty.
Hahaha, well, thank you sit! I am only trying to emulate your highness
Yes, I am aware it says wildneress. Oops! Hahaha
