Kreg ACS Adaptive Cutting System Project Table Top Impressions
Did it get very hot? I just got one and it seems the motor is toast before I even got to use it.
Mine was in a router table so I cant say yes or no but the brushes are small and any heat from them should not go to the outside of the router.
@@carolinaworkshop7091 Thanks. I returned it. I think people buy, use, and return these before the 90 day return period runs out.. So they burn them out for 3 months and then return it...
thanks for making this video carolina workshop - big ups
it is so cheap and good nowadays, it almost is a must have. printing is easy now thanks to all the community and new company like this one, its the cad learning thats the hard one, but super rewarding with the printer. i bought the mini as well just to test the water, and planing getting the X1 with AMS for serious and more piratical materials. (i used to DIY 3dprinters 10 years ago, this has come a long long way.)
nice work. For such big workpieces a selfmade table router hasn't enough power maybe. Did you dial the speed on max? A big jointing cutter which is much heavier with a thrust ring and ball bearings does the job quite nicely.
I think the speed was maxed. That was definitely the lesson learned here. I had never tried on such large pieces. The router table is so limited i will definitely get a shaper when I have space.
It loos good
Thank you very much! Just I needed.
Please make yourself a push stick.
No
Does anyone NOT use snazzy maps?
Well, I had the problem, (the router slowed down to zero speed) followed your video, and fixed it. Thank you. Cost me $10. Back in business!
I hoped that would help someone one day.
are you not use database?
MQTT just sends messages from whatever is transmitting to anyone listening. There is no server side database. You can store that data locally or you can do some combination of mqtt and server database.
$12? then I took a look at how old the video is. 3 years later it's $24 on Amazon. Still a good value I think for someone who is not going to make dowels on a regular basis or is not a woodworker. Great video but although I know your being careful please, everyone, use a push stick on a table saw.
Wait that was a four and a half hour burn wow!
Generally, for a through burn on 1/4" material the speed is like 150mm/minute x 2. So yea 4 hours is about right with this much detail. This is a 10watt diode laser.
I like it
Looking forward to the next video
I have the same saw; am having problem with the leveling mechanism where you push down on the blue lever. Even with the 2 feet screwed all the way in it still will not move smoothly. Has anyone else had that problem?
for panels, it is not bad. for Tee or Ell is is a pain. Not having set-up marks is a negative. Getting the guide centered on a target line is...well 💩💩
How the pictures fit to the frame ? From the back side is Okey it have a holders..but from the front side ? How ?
I think it’s fairer to say you showed us you doing it rather than showing us how you did it.
I loved everything about this table saw…. UNTIL the MOTOR died. It took a while, but it died. Delta service and Tech Support is virtually nonexistent. I could not get either on the phone after multiple tries and long, long waits. DO NOT BUY THIS SAW. Replacement motor price range from over $800 to over $1000!
How long did the saw last?
is theres away to calibrate the tracksaw to get 90 degrees went i plunge the blade goes in bit of an angle but the belve knobs are already all the way downto 90 degrees
It looks like there's a setscrew behind the loosening knob to adjust 90. I would remove the loosening knob with a screwdriver and mess with that. Just a guess.
Nice work
I hope my machine having the same fault . Before sometimes working and now not at all working
I hope it works for you. My router eventually broke and I could not fix it.
@@carolinaworkshop7091 If you still have it the power switch can get full of junk and stop it from having a solid connection. Try cleaning that out.
It turned out great
Looks good😊
I would like to build these lamps for my wife. Do you have the plans/dimensions available ? Thank you!!
No I don't. I think the video explains how to basically make them. I don't recommend some of the vertical cuts I make in the video without a jig though. If you have a specific question ask.
Nice video. I ordered the complete Kreg ACS system last week. Looking forward to using it.
I’ve had the same saw for six months. It’s now $699 but still great value. It does seem a bit under powered to me, but my table is pretty close to dead flat. Thank you for this review I learned a couple things about the saw I didn’t know!
Sorry but your camera angle sucks any you are not describing what you are doing! Can’t see what you did or how you did it or how the tool worked!
I do not have a track saw but want one. I just want one that cuts straight. Lol. No need to spend several hundred dollars for that. The Wen looks perfectly fine for my needs. Great review.
Looks like the saw is blowing wood dust right back at you lol. I have the Cruzer 12 which has terrible dust collection too but am surprised at how little they cared about proper dust collection.
I think that's pretty typical. I have over blade dust collection now and it helps but it's still not great.
@carolinaworkshop7091 what overhead system did you go with or did you build your own?
@carolinaworkshop7091 I also upgraded my dust collector to the Grizzly 1.5 hp wall mount which is rated at 1280 cfm. This greatly improved my tablesaw's dust collection.
Thank you for this video, it was very interesting. It would be interesting to look at your flyback converter as well.
Hi! Really nice video. I'm trying to adjust the current in low value region (0-30mA) but I enter into an area of instability and the voltage drops. Do you have any suggestion for this problem? My goal is to regulate the current from 0 to 100%
Without looking at what you have going on my first thought it consider voltage across the sense resistor and the voltage at the feedback pin on the boost converter. Are they reasonable values at 30mA? Its going to be impossible with my circuit to get the full range of current values working. Youre going to have to make a table with voltage, current, and resistor values to find what range is going to work for you. For example, under some combination of inputs the regulator can not output a voltage to make everything work. That's where I would start at least.
@@carolinaworkshop7091 great, thanks for your reply. yes, as you say, at low current there will not be an acceptable voltage. Now I'll try to write the table. A thousand thanks!
This was a great video, man. Hey, how do you like that WEN jointer?
Great for small stuff. You can get by on larger boards but really you don't want to joint anything longer than your jointer bed. I sold the wen once I found a good used full size jointer.
5000 dollar saw, 5 cent work shoes.
When you look this good it doesn't matter what you wear.
I was very interested in this jointer but after being burned on another WEN product that they would not warrant because "I did not Purchase it from an authorized dealer" so I will not buy another WEN product. I will probably spend more and get the JET brand.
Its fine for small boards. I upgraded to an 8 inch shop fox. I would recommend anything long and heavy. Whatevers cheap on Facebook marketplace.
Everytime I see this type of video , I get a chuckle at "it's easy to do". I have been into lasers for a long, long time and "it's easy to do" is misleading. If someone is thinking about getting a laser, understand that what you see in this video will require you to become proficient in the use of three seperate software programs. The learning curve for Light Burn alone is effort , let alone two more levels of software on top of it. "it's easy to do" is purely subjective
Funny. This video came across to my feed, and I was finally watching the map and realized that it's my hometown. Hilarious
Sliders like that one are not made for ripping hardwood. Unless you install a dedicated power feed. I would not recommend it.There designed to break down sheet goods or panels.
And why are they not suited for ripping hardwood?
Safety
Explain? @@kennethholmes9315
@@kennethholmes9315 you can not be serious it is no difference then a regular TS as long you use the same precautions. Riving knife installed, blade guard, and a ripping or combination blade.
Thank you. Ill be getting this
These are great
Looks good
Great
You said that you planned on getting rid of that saw later on, presumably to upgrade. I'm curious if you have done that yet, and if so, what did you go with. If not, are you still liking the Delta?
I sold it for what I paid for it and got a used grizzly g0623 sliding table saw. The delta was great for what it is. It's not a 5000 dollar saw but it's the best under 1000 by a lot.
With a hold down on both ends of the board, why cant you rip a straight edge on the board up to the length the saw will allow? My son has the large Grizzly sliding saw in his shop, and he uses it for straight cuts up to 10’. His jointer sees very little use for making a straight edge on a board since he bought the sliding saw.
You can.
Watch the milescraft instruction video first and you will get great results
Hey thanks for this. You said you can’t rip 8’ on this saw is that just due to your shop size? I can’t imagine why it couldn’t otherwise. I’m just about to order mine I’m very excited. My saw just blew up and I was about to do the saw stop thing but man as you’ve stated once you see the advantages it’s hard not to want to go that way
You can rip 8 foot sheets when you use the saw like a cabinet saw. The sliding table doesn't move a full 8 feet so you can't rip it there.
@@carolinaworkshop7091 interesting. I rang grizzly and asked them that and they said it can rip a full 8’ sheet and I specifically asked if it was using the slider or just using it as a cabinet saw. Glad I watched this video. What would you say the biggest rip you can do is? Because in reality how often are you ripping full sheets bigger that 24”. Not saying you don’t, just how often
The slider moves 63 inches so that's the limit there. I occasionally rip things longer than that, like rough boards, and use a track saw.
I’m looking forward to watching your new content.
Mils. ??? Do you mean thousandths ? 25 mils. = 1 in.
mils as in 1/1000th of an inch
what are these last metal pieces you use in the back to fix the board? how are they called?
The things that hold the picture to the frame are called glazier points or glazier push points. The piece that holds the frame to the wall I just call picture hangers.
@@carolinaworkshop7091 great thanks
I needed one of these months ago
