We'd like to use a Meshtastic solution for Mutant Vehicle tracking on Playa at Burning Man... this looks perfect so that campers can locate the MVs on playa.

Don't throw away your 'old tech' just yet, these technologies are really not really comparable. Both need charged batteries, both need antennas, both need co-ordinated group set-up (channels), even more so in the case of Meshtastic and in some of those situations you'd get better range from a mobile radio. The one big feature of Meshtastic is automatic position reporting but still only when nodes can hear each other. . . .and the multitude of cell masts in the canyon? You'd get a bit mad if your cell phone kept dropping out for 30 seconds but with Meshtastic it just means your message took a while longer to get through. Remember, just because it's new doesn't make it better! Thanks and have a good day! D.

this project alive? would love to actually modify for something like music festivals, camping with friends. don't need a "leader" just ability for a private group to be setup, everyone joins, and uses their phone to message and locate friends.

Hey, you didn't give feedback on the new antenna mounts for front and rear vehicles. How did the magnetic mount withstand offroading?

Don't know what state Meshtastic was in in September 2022, but seems simple today to create a private channel for all the vehicles, upping hops and GPS update intervals. And because you are in the middle of no-where on your own mini mesh, no-one will complain about congestion. Now on to the next video.

WASTE OF MONEY!!! Honestly the video was great but the product is complete trash. ZERO noise gains, zero MPG gains, zero power gains according to said “butt dyno”. Save your money. I’m going back to stock for now.

Glad to see some real world testing. I live in the south and a family member and I are exploring meshtastic as an off grid, post hurricane/natural disaster comm channel, as well as using it for some IOT projects. I set a lilygo device in a tree maybe 30’ in the air on a small hilltop near the house and then drove around and tested random points trying to get contact from inside my truck, I’ve gotten multiple contacts over 1.5 miles through fairly dense woods with pretty flat topography. Our next project is to put a node on a drone and put it above tree level, maybe 60 or 70’ above ground level and see what kind of range we get. My family members house is about 24 miles as the crow flies and we are trying to get a network stretched between our houses and hopefully it will help meshtastic grow locally as well.

Absolutely crazy to me that there are radio channels on UA-cam. And not a single one goes in depth like you with physical testing. For those channels it’s just spec sheets

Have you ever seen an app called: ATAK??? You can do ALLOT of these features with ATAK In fact, I actually used ATAK during The People's Convoy while rolling big trucks past the White House. Needless to say, I am extremely interested in you're future app.

You're missing the final product, if you put ALL of those mods on, you generate considerably more power than the numbers on your chart. You also left out performance heads which have the added benefit of being more robust and longer lasting than the factory heads.
