    I have the IF23 and love it. It is however heavy because of he large battery. Initially I was interested in the IF24 because of that and I think the user interface is actually more intuitive. But I had my concerns about the IF24 and you very much confirmed all of them . Thank you very much for saving me some money.

      True absolutely right about the size of the battery making the light bigger in dimensions and weight…but features, I’ll take the IF23 all day! It can charge other devices! That alone is more valuable than the IF24. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I have this watch too and its even bigger 210H brother and I love it - but (this is me) like all watches I buy NONE of them are ever long enough to fit my 8. 5" wrist so I have to find a way to put a NATO on everything, but the lug width means an 18mm? width which would not be a good look - I had to settle for adapting a set of strap adapters from Jays and Kays on ebay so it now takes a 22mm NATO but I cant wear it without it. Why can no watchmaker include a longer strap for us with neanderthal wrists--LOL

    Grat video! I have recently (4 months ago) acquired the wise hitman and it really is a beast. Agree on the daylight readability .....could be better on higher contrast hands. And i also miss a date complication. I made another recent purchase and it has been on my wrist the last 3 weeks. Aliexpress berny pilot automatic full lume...automatic movement, 10 bar WR, titanium case and strap, sapphire cristal (went for the flat one , there is also option for a domed crystal). When i received it it was gaining about 15-18 seconds a day, but once adjusted it ONLY gained 1 min and 18 seconds (forward) on 2 weeks of continuous use (day and night)!!! It has a really cool and functional pilot inspired full lume dial BG9W on the background, black "thick" hands with a little bit of C3 at the tips, and a really cool orange second hand. I think its really good looking and easy to read.....all for about 100-105usd??? Bargain price i think! Only bad point i have found is the date complication window seems it was made poorly, just a circular cutout on the dial...a liitle bit small and sometimes not easy to read (2 digit dates). However it is there and it is functional. One of my best buys for sure... And when charged up it is REALLY bright....and lasts a long time. I'd have to make a timed comparison but its a really good rival to the wise hitman. Greetings!!

    I don't get your argument as long as it gets , you're just canceling the whole concept of " brands " , brands has values attached to them whether it's material value or emotional and some brands have iconic designs attached to them , those who are copying these are typical example of stealing someone sucess and using it for their own benefits and even the buyer is buying it for the same reason that he likes the design but finds it difficult to pay the price the original designer is asking for and is happy to show people around that he appreciates that iconic design which in most cases of copying is done for luxurious brands so for the most he is someone that has the taste and the means to indulge such an iconic design when actually he is just another pretender trying to show something he is not. This homage thing is a miss- used term , its correct definition should be inspiring but in reality it's used to cover copying from a legal perspective that's all same like fake diamonds they give you the looks that most people will pass but not the true afficionados who can notice it from across the room.

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear 3 дні тому

      iconic brands borrow ideas and rebrand as their own. In the research world, when an idea is presented in a paper, the author must cite their source. Only the conclusions section of a research paper contains text without citations. Likewise, all watches ignore the citation of inspiration or ideas from other brands folded into a design. It’s the kettle calling the pot black when the lack of citing inspiration by big brands or critics of homages say, ‘they’re stealing someone’s success.’ Watches are an evolution of ideas dependent upon the ideas and innovation of prior designers. And their design are dependent upon others. Not buying the emotional charge and assumption you’re making of anyone else’s motive for buying or wearing a watch. Whether that be a Seiko speed timer, Raymond Weil, Longines, or any other Daytona homage. These are all big boy brands staking the success from Rolex? And Rolex created the Daytona without ANY inspiration from any other watches prior to the design of the Daytona?…right. Rationally impossible for Rolex to be 100% responsible for the design. Save the assumptions about motivation and first ask why someone wears the watch they’re wearing. Arrogance precedes the judgment.

    Hell gents! Interesting fact about Laco! Did not know that! Nice EDC Tim! You two are guys who actually use your stuff for what its meant to be used for. A Leatherman with Magnacut???? Impressive! Nice Pen Jim! I wonder what type of Led Lenser it is? I use to use the P5 as my inspection light. I like the tests Jim does on his watches. His results with the Rangeman was particularly interesting! I think the thing with the shower is not the watch getting wet but rather the gaskets cracking over time due to expansion and contraction when going from cold to hot to cold on a regular basis. As for oil and acids and things... Not all gaskets are made the same. I know some watches like Draken use Viton gaskets which are resistant to a whole bunch of stuff. Viton® gaskets are good for applications involving oils, fuels, and mineral acids, and these gaskets of FKM also boast excellent resistances to oxidation, ozone, UV exposure, weather, fungus, and mold. If you leave certain rubber gaskets (Nitrile, Neoprene, fluorocarbon) in diesel they will disintegrate and become brittle and crack... You guys are right though. I think people will be surprised to see what normal Casio's will be able to survive! I think I need to look into a fitness Casio. If only the step tracker one to see if I like it. Its good to see Jim is a brother in Christ as well! Take care guys! Have an awesome day!

    Great video. The “no original” argument was compelling, BUT… imagine me wincing just a tiny little bit ;-) However, value and variety is certainly the biggest factor for me. No, actually, it’s that I’d feel SICK wearing a watch that cost 5 grand. Particularly when there’s a Christian school in Pakistan struggling to exist. Heck, a used Submariner would fund the whole school for 4 months! Lives and eternities should be more important than our vanity. Sorry. I started to rant.

    All I can say is that I need some advice on what to do to take my video production to the next level. Looking at your screen in the background (Apple), I feel a twinge of envy. I do ALL my video on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Needless to say, I could use a computer, but besides the cost, the learning curve scares the heck out of me!

      @Realidealgear 8 днів тому

      Thank you…I use the included iMovie software on my iMac and it’s very intuitive. If you can handle iPhone level editing, the Apple computer version is a breeze. I’ve used both and the computer is far easier.

    This is a great synopsis of homages. I’ve got one blatant homage, a Squale 1545 GMT (Rolex GMTMaster homage). For a year or so I didn’t wear it much, partially because I felt self-conscious wearing it, and partially because I got a BB58 that took 90% of my wrist time. I’ve recently started wearing it again; it’s so comfortable & it really is such a great watch!

    • @Realidealgear

      Go for it. A great looking watch is loved by all. Raymond Weil Seiko, , orient, and Longines Conquest (all are Daytona homages of varying price points) seem to think so as well. Have a great week!

      @chriscon8463 8 днів тому

      @@Realidealgear Actualy, now that I’m thinking about it, my BB58 is an homage to the 1958 Rolex & Tudor Submariners. This brings up questions: Is this “more ok” because they’re homaging themselves? Is it “more ok” because the original is a discontinued model? This subject gets weirder the more you think about it.

      Some have said that internal homages are rereleases. I don’t consider through the lens of acceptability. It an internal image to an original manufactured in time gone by. No different than Islander Watch homaging the Seiko SKX along with dozens of other brands doing the same. Homages are part of all design, it’s logically required. To 100% create something requires zero inspiration. Any level of ‘inspiration’ concedes to an homage at some level. Even internally, this exists. As a trained researcher, we were shown that no idea is original therefore one must cite all sources of ‘inspiration.’ Though internal, even the BB series of reissues contain elements of inspiration from external examples. Whether or not a big boy company admits to external inspiration isn’t my goal. Pointing out the definitional consistencies of what an homage is…that’s worth it and in the case you’ve shared, it is an homage. Most internal homages have improvements: finishing of the dial/case, movement, crystal, clasp…it’s not the original….its definitely inspired by the original therefore an homage to original. Wear with confidence my friend.

    Those cutscene videos just goes to show you how hard you guys in lawncare work. My hats off to you and your team man. I like the Suspension a lot. Its a great tool! The screwdriver though is the same as a Leather man but like you said when its worn out and you have to change it, it is going to be rough. Nice mod on the Tinker! Maximizing space on it! I never knew about the needle until recently but its such a handy thing to have. I have to admit those SAK's are growing on me. You bring up a fair point. No tool will do everything well. Multitools as a whole is a compromise. That Rocktool though is something else! I dig that! Its like the best of both worlds. If only they can fit a set of pliers in there. That scissors reminds of that joke where you are the small scissors she tells you not to worry about versus hugely overbuild Roxon she tells you is just a friend haha. You do get two models SAK with a file on the backside of the parcel hook. I think its the Traveler and the Compact. I dont get prybars either. I dont understand what their use is. I do like that wrench on that one though! That ratchet system is pretty nifty too! The Swiss Champ is a legendary knife. Cant fault it. I think you have a solid toolset bro! Capable and compact. Take care and God bless bro!

    • @Realidealgear
      @Realidealgear 8 днів тому

      I actually think the SAK has a better pliers for day to day use. For hands on vocational use the multitool is the way to go. I’m loving the Swiss Champ. Maybe it’s the honeymoon period, but I pocket carry that knife and I’m ok with it. I think it doesn’t have the extra width of the suspension where the pliers is located. Other multi tools have a more consistent width like the leathermans etc. I’ve seen leathermans be pocket carry, therefore I think the Swiss champ being very similar dimensionally is a legit pocket carry. Have a great weekend my brotha from anotha motha!!
