Wife bought me the GW9500-1 for Christmas and I love it. I wore a GW9400-1 Rangeman for years while in LE. Now I’m retired and my eyes are older. This new Mudman is much easier to read with its larger numerals and letters.
Thanks Jim! I think this Casio is far superior to the Seiko Arnie as far as tough guy appeal and looks. I truly love the lower profile. Have a great weekend. I’ll be in touch with you and Paul about that live stream idea.
Fun Facts about this watch: Casio used a 10 year old moudle for the same reason Toyota uses Nicd batteries- Reliability. The light button is angled in a way so that it won't get accidentally engaged as it is geared towards certain "elements" as for the shallow screen i added a film ( on the same model) since bullbars aren't available, hopefully they will be. Like anything else there are positive and negative aspects but i learned to concentrate on the positive and enjoy it and life in general. Great Review thanks for that.
Great review, of a great watch - awesome to see Casio finally brought the best of the Protrek line to G-shock including the big digit Protrek style display! I love my GW-9400 Rangeman still but this Mudman is definitely a contender for digital ABC-G!
Man you got to love a great Casio! I think has stress tested this thing to high heaven and back. It seems like a superb watch that is very practical! I've owned a G9000 and it had stiff straps as well. I see what you mean with the display...all in all I think this is a great, durable companion that should give you years of trouble free service. Take care bro and God bless!
A good basic outdoorwatch! I have this watch for 6 months now and the only things I have changed are the barometer and altitude settings. The factory setting of the barometer isn't very accurate...So, if you change the barometer setting, also change the altimeter setting! Good video!
I love the look of the display on this watch... Casio finally got it right... No unnecessary meters, gauges, bars, or anything else, just the day, date, and time, of course.... also really like the display on the big sky... I like how they use a simple line/dash over the function that you are in.... I don't really like a display that has 50 million things going on, especially when those so-called features serve no purpose whatsoever.... as much as I like the GD 350, I'm not a big fan of the display because of these meters... I more favor the display on my other favorite the, TRT 110.... The only thing I could do without on that display is the little circle meter but other than that it's one of my favorite displays
Alfredo, it’s been too long my friend. I highly recommend this or the Rangeman Gw9400. The Mudman is much easier to read. Take care and best wishes to you and your family.
Hi Tim. I have an old Mudman G-9000. Too small for my taste (I hardly ever wear it), but I just wanted to add a Mudman to my collection. Have a great day!
The compass lcd(would never used) over the clock lcd makes the Mudman a no-buy for me. I'll go with the Rangeman which even has a better time-sync. I liked your review!
My multiband 6 watches will only sync when I'm wearing them overnight. It's pretty consistent - they will sync when worn, they won't when not worn. Maybe I'm acting as an antenna? For reference, I'm on the coast of South Carolina, so I'm not too close to the transmitter in Colorado. Just my two cent. Another great review!
I agree that the dual layer LCD may be a complication other single layer LCDs don’t have to worry about. You have me thinking!! I do have the type of oil useful for that kind of modification…
@@Realidealgear would be an entertaining watch filming the process and the before and after result, also thanks for replying I hope you have a great day.
Just managed to get this model and colour way from a UK jeweller for £199 which at the moment is $250. At this price point, I thought it was a no-brainer!

Absolutely
Same here....
3:22 Nice shot of the Mudman right there! 💪🏻 It looks good on you, Tim!

That you for watching and sharing. Have a great week.
It looks like one of the best G Shocks. I've never seen one in real life.
It is a great G-Shock and probably in the top 5 I’m that price point. Have a great weekend.
Simply, my grail.
Looks like it’ll be a fun month on your channel. Looking forward to it.
Thanks for watching.
Love the GW-9500! Got the one with the negative display and the Toyota Land Cruiser edition. ❤️
The TLC looks awesome.
I have one. One of my favorites. looking forward to the other watch review you have in the background.
Thanks for watching. More reviews on the way! Have a great weekend.

It’s so much more legible.

It is a tough as nails watch with all the bells and whistles making it one of the best grab and go watches. Have a great weekend my friend.
@@Realidealgear Agreed! You too man! 😎👌
Pulled the trigger on a GD350 thanks to your review. Cheers, mate.
Excellent choice, you will enjoy it. Have a great weekend!

I’ve got to look that one up. I’ve not heard of that model number before. Have a great weekend
@@Realidealgear The Urban Gentry has a good review of it, but, as usual, YT won’t let me give you the link. 🙄

Very interesting reception quirk. Have you tried holding some crumple up aluminum foil! 🤣
great G-shock i have the TLC and i love it
That’s a great model…I was interested in getting one but they’re sold out.
I use the (clock wave) app to set my atomic g shocks. Also if the watch can be on a metal pipe at times it can help it gather a signal.
Now that an interesting idea…I’ll be trying that! Have a great week.
I was thinking of buying rangeman or mudman and then I bought protrek with same function except multiband prg-340 it was cheaper.
That’s what I have…Protrek.
I know this is a crazy idea, but can you do a hydromod on this watch, and see if the display cloudiness decreases.
It would be bad for the dual layer LCD system.
I agree that the dual layer LCD may be a complication other single layer LCDs don’t have to worry about. You have me thinking!! I do have the type of oil useful for that kind of modification…

Lovely watch but the digits look too thin...too much screen space . Just doesnt look good to me.
Good point. The digits are thin.

It’s a great watch! I really like this color combo on the Mudman.
