Bean tiling four 20 years. A professional will not do it. As you don't know the integrity of the tiles underneath can create problems down the line.. but yes you can do it d.i.y .

We built a new home 2 years ago... i was amazed how many of the sub contractors - brickies, painters, chippies were heavy smoking, heavy drinking and also drug addicts... only the electrician was totally above board

Why would the builder continue to paint the inside if out of money. Have you even read contracts specifically outlining conditions about lockup? Have you ever built a house? Or is your career just inspections? Can’t believe you go around filming shit like this

And notice the rust on those I beams, I'd specify galvanised especially if near the coast

No insurance company will cover long term deterioration. It has taken 6 years for the waterproofing to fail, therefore it is long term deterioration and ultimate failure of the waterproofing, regardless of they're membrane or not. Additionally the workmanship is extremely poor. It has not happened from a single event, that is why insurance won't cover it. It's the same as saying they should cover the rusted box gutter... which they never will

In Australia we don't say caulking, we say silastic (which is a common brand name), silicone, or just sealant.

Please identify the company so that us as potential clients can avoid the same headaches

How could the guy who built this be called a tradesman bricklayer? About time Builders Supervisor Board or similar closes these people maskerading as builders down, it's down right dangerous & some😢 poor bugger has most probably poured their lifesaving into this job ,it not right. More progressive inspection needed in this industry.

If i recall correctly the "standard" MBA building contract in WA (for builds below a certain value) used to have no reference to the Australian Standards. I had to add the requirement amongst other omissions before signing our contract. Building inspections were performed at key stages through the build which helped pick up items that would otherwise have been hidden. To their credit the builder addressed all the issues in the reports. In hindsight I should have organised a separate inspection of the cabling and electrical fittings. Don't assume the builder knows whet they are doing or that the tradies are following the plans, if you see something that looks wrong ask the supervisor and if necessary engage an inspector for a written report. I can only feel the stress and frustration of the owner in the video being at this stage after three and a half years. I hope you sort them out. Y

TPO is a superior material to this sh1t metal you guys use. In the US, we use that style on barns and sheds, not higher end homes.

All jokes aside,Why won’t you and all the other building inspectors expose these bodgy builders so we can all be aware to stay away from them . Inspectors and councillors need these people gone. Someone’s dream is going to be shattered. I know we need more homes but not built like this. I’m disgusted that they can trade.

As a bricky with my own buisness I do hate schooners, but that is bloody horrible! No wire ties or attempt reinforcing! But at the same time the builder let it slide

Does the roof look shit? Yes. Will the roof leak? Yes. Will the roof collapse like the thumbnail text says... No, it won't.

That's not exposed aggregate. It's a really poor attempt at terrazzo. That will be a huge mess to make good.

My mate's Dad was a bricklayer in the 70's & 80's who built his own house. He recently inherited the house & promptly moved in. After 50 years there were no issues with it besides needing a lick of new paint here and there. Roof with terracotta tiles has no leaks, and the brickwork is immaculate, double brick and looks like it was just completed. His old man had very high standards, was taught well, and always said to remember one day a family will live in that house & it's their biggest investment so build it well as if you're going to live in it. He was of the "old school" and a wonderful and loved fella. I miss him heaps.

I’m in Beechboro wa In a brand new building. Already got problems. Such shonky workmanship. It’s disgusting how much they don’t do. Got some big bills coming to replace and repair. Builder won’t do it. Their mistake but our problem and cost. There should be stronger regulations on builders. We have loads of little bits of blue tape in every room.

This work is a bloody disgrace. How can any tradesmen be proud of this substandard work......possibly" I couldn't spell tradesman now I is one" .The old reason old mate was upset is because you called out his shit work & his ego got bruised. Well done calling out this crap because this type of work might give all tradies a bad name.
