Thanks for share your knowledge 😍; can I do this effect with a video png sequence instead of with a photoshop layer?
@@pilarordoqui5149 yes that will actually be easier , you need to click on the animation tab and make sure the texture is registered as a sequence , email me if you get stuck
Thanks for the tutorial, could you please post the source in gumroad?
Nice one!
@@Greyscalegorilla thanks! 😊
hey! what about a new modyfi tutorial ;-)? we really like the way you explain and the visuals are so nice!
@@ekoflexofficial3903 ah cool! I’ll put it on the list - thanks for letting me know! 😊
such a simple idea can create such a fresh and cool look. so inspiring!
@@blakewyrick4011 thanks Blake, hope it spark inspiration for you 😊
It's interesting that it would have taken them months... I believe that too. As someone who works in the industry, what is your usual timeline for making a similar animation for a large company?
@@RinneganMan-h5f great question. usually something like this would be 2-3 months from brief to finish , sometimes they would send out the brief way in advance. Lookdev and exploration could take weeks, but luckily big companies like this have budgets for lookdev /rnd . At the end it’s only maybe 60 seconds, but believe me, lots of hours and loads of artist virtual sweat and tears . The sad part with Apple projects is, they can’t put it in their portfolio or even tell people they worked on it 😢.It would be nice if Apple can put some spotlights on creatives like Microsoft does.
@@TheFriendsOfMotion Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question. I love your videos by the way, please keep making them! That's fascinating, I didn't realise Apple had a policy like that. I wonder why they do?
Hi! I don't manage to place the spheres at the very end of the tracer. I tried with offsett 100 and 99.99 like you say but it doesn't work. Do you have any advice on how to fix it ?
@@ItziarArtin hi there, this was done in quite an old version of c4d, there is a whole new particle system now so I think it might be the issue. What is your version of c4d?
@@TheFriendsOfMotion Heyy, thanks for your reply! The version I have is 2024.5.1

Please do an indepth tutorial please!! I would love to learn more about this!
it was houdini and volumetrics
@@cyanide227 ha! ofcourse 😁
First time I've stumbled across your channel and I'm glad that I did! That spherical aberration technique is super handy. Thank you!
@@chrisholland6593 thanks Chris , hope you can use it for a future project 😊

@@jan-xyz thanks 😊
So simple, yet so much deep knowledge! Awsome!
@@jafetnoriega8623 thanks! Hope you can use it for a project 😊
Nice one. You could use a little ring surface and a mesh emitter to shoot particles to the outside only. But I guess you need the option for splines anyway. But also there..if you have a random spline you could build a tiny surface along it and emit from there.
@@stepseldinski ah, thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️
To me, it's real beautiful. There's not so much in post, save for chromatic abberation and defocus. Again, just my opinion. Great work
@@ojdesignmotion1589 thanks 😊 but who knows, it’s such a high profile job. Heck, maybe they even used Houdini 😁
great work! i would have loved to see the fully rendered animation though :(

I LOVE this tutorial. Thank you for this. Dabbling surely is where the magic is.
Thanks , yes keep dabbling and you will find out :)
That Spherical Aberration technique is definitely a new one for me. Magic!
Thanks Dozie!
Likely is using the additive blend setting in the incandescent material. I used to use Cycles 4D for very similar effects to this as it had an additive node, so I was hyped when Redshift added this feature. Basically any transparent pixels on top will be multiplied by the values behind getting that wispy effect.
@@Oldyellowbrick ah! Thanks for sharing, I’ve never used it, will try it out!

Great technique, uh, Friend! Thanks for sharing your approach!
Thanks, hope the creators will also chime in and let us know how they really made it :)
Thanks for all the tips. How would you add on any reflections over the screen? My guess would be through more AOV reflection passes and a reflective material. Or do you think there’s a better way?
To be honest, sometimes I just put fake ‘cheap’ reflection as a layer, use the same mask but put a picture of a window or trees or what ever you want to reflect (in After effects 3D space slightly closer to camera in z space ) and on ‘screen’ 20% opacity and blur it out. The expensive reflection would be to have an actual reflection pass rendered out, but then you have to place whatever you want to reflect very strategically in the right place in c4d.
@@TheFriendsOfMotion Thank you so much for the response. That makes sense. I guess sometimes it makes sense to just stick with a less expensive method. I didn’t think about having to potentially model a detailed background. Again, thanks so much for posting all of this helpful information. I’ve only watched two tutorials but they’re very helpful in the way I think about approaching certain scenes.
@@ricardojaimes6604 thanks and let me know if there’s a specific tutorial you are looking for , I’ll put it on the list 😊

Thanks S, useful for so many applications right? I get Microsoft events vibes 😁
Absolutely E, I got the same vibe on first sight. 😄
Thanks for sharing this beautiful effect! 🤍I'm trying to do this, but I can't figure out how to get the emitters to show up in the Redshift render viewer (I added the Redshift object tag and nothing) I'm missing something in the settings? Has anyone had something similar happen or know how to solve this issue? Thanks!
Are you using the latest version or anything above 2023? few quick ways to trouble shoot.. Start a new scene , put just a cube and one light and see what you see in redshift viewer. 2. If that works add an emitter with 10 particles and see if that renders (you should see green default dots ) 3. If that doesnt work, try to cache the scene (explained at 15;00) but the live render should definitely work without caching , u only need to cache once you want to render it to frames
@@TheFriendsOfMotion Thanks for answering! My bad, I was updating the C4D version, but I didn't update the Redshift version! Thanks again for the suggestions.
@@pilarordoqui5149 Awesome, glad you found the issue, and thanks for sharing since this might be an issue for someone else too
