This nook and video are dedicated to my colleague, office mate, and treasured friend @rogeruta.
This is not a nook I'd have chosen to build for myself, but lately, when a nook catches my eye, it's not for me anyway. I knew as soon as I saw this one it was meant for the wild and wonderful soul who shares an office with me, brightens my day with his wacky humor, weaves outlandish backstories for my boot and cane, and hovers protectively over me as if I were his child... (I'm way older than he is and have ditched the boot and cane, but I value his friendship, wisdom, and support more than I could ever express.)
But I digress, as usual... On to the nook itself. I discovered so many hidden treasures in this build, and it became a joy to work on. Not just because it was destined for my friend, but because of the detail and craftsmanship within the individual pieces as well. The placement of the lights enhances these details, and as I toddled down memory lane through the crafting of this video, a story began to take shape in the mists of my mind. This was the first time I attempted to capture the actual building of pieces "live" so to speak.
