A320 Night Landing KCLE Flight Deck View
A routine night landing in Cleveland, OH. First time I've filmed anything at night with the GoPro. Worked pretty well. Good view of downtown.

This is my brother's car. It took him 11 years to build in his garage. The engine is a 528ci roller with a 400 hp multi stage nitrous system. 4000 stall, torqueflight. This was the first start.
1:38 Aren't you supposed to remove your hand from the thrust levers at V1?
Yep. This was years ago when I was the FO. But, the captain always holds the throttles during each take off roll until V1. It wasn’t me, but I didn’t notice what you described.
You still flying the Airbus?
Yep, DFW based.
@@AirbusPilotMark Are you a Captain?
@@Sl0thies Yep.
what airline?
That was post merger AWA/US Airways, before the big merger with American.
Hey, still at AA? Got some questions for ya
What’s up?
@@AirbusPilotMarkHow long are upgrade times looking currently on the Airbus fleet in ORD? Also…how long would it take to hold 787 FO up there? Thanks man
@@AsNetwork the Airbus isn’t currently based in ORD, AFAIK. Sorry, not sure about 787 FO upgrades, though I’d guess less than 5 years.
Oops, I didn’t mean to say 787 “upgrades”, but to hold just the right seat on the 787 is probably around 5 years.
Hello captian may i ask you why airbus model acj (private jet) a319 a320 can fly long rang than a320 a319 comercial flight?
Good V2500 sound!
Seat belts should have been secured before you even pushed back from the gate dude😅
He rattling out the whole industry now talking about chemical spray yea you mean fucking chem trails yea I know more then the average person does about that too
Coming from where
Capt. Joe Cool…total old school bad ass!! Love it!!
First saw this video in high school. Now I’m training to fly the 737 after a little over a year at a regional. Time flies pretty fast!
Amazing! What route did you take? Went to college? or tried building hours as a flight instructor
love your videos please record more taking of and landing in cleveland please
Miss the Cactus callsign
butter
“Don’t be a dick it’s Christmas” 😂😂😂
V2527’s I love them!
lol i can’t wait for this to be me (except i wanna fly the A321neo)
Does anyone know the registration of the aircraft? I.e. the Cactus A321 they’re flying
At 2:25 you can see the call sign under the auto pilot panel. It's N551UW. She's still flying for American now :)
Nothing like being blinded by the Phoenix sun while trying to land a jet.
Have been on several night flights into Cleveland in the middle of a blizzard with wind whipping off the lake. Putting a plane down in that takes some special kind of s**t.
From Indonesia. During takeoff starts in 3:17, why Airbus captain says "FLEX" instead "MAN FLEX (then read temperature in Celcius) SRS A/THR BLUE". And in 3:29, the copilot says 80 knots, instead 100 knots on Airbus pilots outside US.
Calling out the FMA is not common at U.S. airlines (they determine the procedures). In this case (US Airways), the pilot flying announces when a new detent is set (TOGA, FLEX, CLB, etc.) and the pilot monitoring confirms that thrust is set to the respective detent (“Climb set,” “TOGA set,” etc.).
fly by wire much?
How cool is this video love it and wow
I just saw my house
Phoenix, Aridzona a great place to be FROM! Welcome to My Maryvale hometown Nightmare.
Airbus not having proper flight controls is just lame.
0:35 Cpt: "Just don't put it on UA-cam" FO: "Why?" Cpt: "FAA will see it" FO: "Really? Is that against the law?" xd
rare ,video of take off in rwy 01 R ;-)
So cool to watch the landing via the pilots eyes! I was always a little jealous of the pilots as a flight attendant; the view never gets old, I bet!
“Tower Now”
Butter! You know it's a smooth landing when the radio altimeter calls out 5 feet.
Why the US-based Airbus pilots says FLEX and 80 knots?
6 years later and this is still the best. Any update?
The must be the best job in the world.
So smooth !Dont like Rusian,My ass!
That landing had a buttery biscuit base
You may be good at flying a plane, but you can't hold a camera.
It is mounted on the top of the First Officer's head. That's why it shakes from time to time. The pilots need their hands free.
how do you know when to extend the landing gear?
I can't speak for large airliners, but on the smaller planes I fly we extend the gear during our landing checklist 1 mile before the final approach fix for instrument approaches or as we are entering the VFR pattern at the airport when we aren't VFR. Airliners usually do longer approaches so they probably put the gear down a few miles before they descend on final approach.
Often depends on the airline. Around 2500 - 2000 ft above ground is common to drop your gear with the airliners.
awesome video 5 years ago .. must get more viewers
Cooooooool
What airline?
US Airways. Flight took place 2014, when they were still around. US Airways got merged with American Airlines in 2015. This plane still flies today for American.
Hey Mark, do you recommend getting a college degree to get in the airlines or it doesn't affect me that much to get a degree and I should just build my flight time up. Also, do you recommend Airbus or Boeing for a type rating? Which is more valuable?
i know this is a late reply but it depends on the airline but usually its not required, also if you do get one it doesn't have to deal with aviation.
Awesome views of downtown.
Was that a chemtrail comment?
Welcome to cle I live in cle
At the end of the video is that the oxygen mask we hear?
No..can’t remember what it was . O2 masked are stored in normal ops.
Think that’s just his hand feeling around the camera for the stop recording button.
@@LiamHolloway Yeah after a year of flight simulation and real Airbus flights...I am no longer a noob😂😂😂.
This is fantastic , however, non essential activity to the safety of the flight below 10,000 feet comes to play here. I’m pretty sure AA would frown heavily on this. I certainly don’t want you to get in trouble or even a violation. Just food for thought.
This video was filmed over 7 years ago, prior to the merger with AA. Other than brief idle chit chat at the beginning, there was no violation of company policy at the prior airline. Since then, there have been additions to company policy that discourages filming, and that’s why I’ve stopped posting videos. It’s unfortunate.
OMG HOW FREAKING COOL IS THIS!!!! I just happened to come across this video, and this is super cool that you shared this with us!! I'm totally bugging out watching this!! Thank you!!
Nothing like landing over my city at night. Cleveland Rocks!
Love it, thanks for uploading! Nice landing too :)
