    Same with Oranges. The skin is apparently high in Vit c probably all fruit. The pith of a orange is excellent for varicose veins according to what I was told at a health food store. 20 dollar jar or was it 30 dollars for varicose vien pills .. I was told no need to buy them if you will eat the orange peal the white part for veins does wonders. I have always eaten some of the orange peel when i eat a orange since i was a kid so maybe it is why I did not have a problem - i don't really know but i was asking about the pills for a friend who had bad varicose veins. I told my friend at time but i have no clue if she ate orange peel or if she bought the pills.

    Both unhealthy vegan and unhealthy carnivore diets exist, emphasizing the importance of execution in either approach. When done correctly, a plant-based diet can absolutely prevent endless diseases and health issues. But it takes alot of effort, research and cooking haha but it's a life style change a healthier life style change. Good for you for helping to support your parents. 🙌

      @letfithappen2u I just feel better over all. I was feeling crappy before I started. I felt tired with no energy and now I have alot more pep in my step!

      @letfithappen2u I am also hoping my next blood test in 6 months will reflect how ive been eating! It was not great a few months ago. I told my dr I want to try and control things with my diet before I go on more medication. I am already taking to many medications for cholesterol and blood pressure as it is.

      That's SO great that you're feeling more energized and have more pep in your step! Major kudos to you for taking control of your health and working to heal yourself thru good nutrition (vs. meds). I've had clients who have seen major changes (i.e., lower LDL & A1C) after just 6 weeks of eating a more plant-based diet so... I'd bet your next blood test will reflect the amazing changes you've made!

    I was plant based for 2 years but got too sick and then switched to carnivore, 5 years carnivore now and all health issues fixed.

    For most of people very basic principles would improve their health significanlty: 1) physical activity 2) caloric deificit (if needed to loose weight) 3) fasting 4) no sugar 5) no processed foods 6) limit carbs with high GI 7) limit saturated fat.

      I would say no caloric deficit is needed, no carbs, as much saturated fat as you want but otherwise sensible.

      Agreed... these are basic principles but for most people, not so easy to do. For my parents, eating a whole food plant-based diet was relatively uncomplicated. They filled their plates with veggies, fruit, whole grains, beans, nuts, etc..., cut back on processed food... and did NOT have to count calories. It worked for them!

    You remove the favorite food that made your parents sick and replace it with the opposite - of course they will lose weight and get better. It’s not because they aren’t eating animal based food- it’s because they reduce their calories in a manageable and a sustainable way. I am very happy for them because they are now much better now.

      Thank you. For them, removing the animal products, and thereby significatnly reducing saturated fats, and eating WAY more fiber made the biggest difference in improving their very serious health issues. They tried moderation multiple times previously but... it didn't work for them... eating a plant-based diet did. Thank goodness!

      @@letfithappen2u removing saturated fats from their diet did didlisquats or them. Removing food they like did make them slimmer and therefore healthier. Saturated fats are not bad for you and they are much healthier than margarine, for example. Wait until they find new foods to be addicted to. It’s the food they like, not the „saturated fats“. Sugar is addictive, saturated fats aren’t the addictive substance. Roasted bacon can be addictive but I haven’t seen anyone eat roasted bacon all day without stopping eating it. I have seen plenty of people eating high carbs diet all day and becoming obese.

    you should look into channels: Steak and butter gal (she was a 6 vegan, became sick and swtiched to a carnivore diet), Nutrient with Judy (she was a s12 year sick vegan, ended up with an eating disorder and swtiched to carnvore diet) and Dr Hampton (he was a vegan doctor and switched to carnvore now preaches about how he was lied to about the health benifits of veganism). take care.

      Thanks for the info. I did a lot of research before I switched to a plant-based diet, and before recommending it to my parents. I also continue to keep up with the latest reseach regarding this eating style (pros & cons) so if new information arises that causes me to reconsider... I will. We've all been eating plant-based for 6+ years and we're all healthy and feeling great. It works for us.
