It's all about the Class B RV life... the travel, the adventure, the lifestyle.
We purchased an Embassy Class B RV because of the innovation in the build and the integrity of the company. It fits our style of travel and we can't wait to see the USA and Canada.
Of course, a certain issue cropped up for all of us in 2020, so delivery was delayed, but we finally picked it up June 27th 2022!
There are many questions and no easy answers, but as we like to say... If the roads of life were a straight path, we'd all fall asleep at the wheel!
Be seeing you!
NOTE: We aren't experts on anything. We aren't builders, electricians, tradespeople, financial advisors, business professionals, travel gurus, motorhome specialists, life coaches and certainly not influencers! One Year Cost of Travel in a Class B RV

I took a trip on my own (no Mrs. ROFL or ROFl dog with me!) to a meetup in Oshkosh Wisconsin. It was set up by the remarkable Cheri Duchrow, fellow Administrator of the Embassy RV Owners and Wannabes Facebook group. Without her boundless energy, I am sure the group would fade into memory! Along the way, I visited museums, tried out a Love's shower, stayed at Harvest Hosts, and even shopped at o...

A Quick Video of Something Really Special!
All class B vehicles with similar layouts as Embassy have the smaller fridge. 6.8 cu fridge on the Embassy is a big plus. The storage is something to really appreciate!
I have to agree. It is true that many other Class B's seem to have more windows, but they lack what I consider necessary storage. Thanks for commenting!
Glad to know that information about the battery not charging all the way if it hasn’t been plugged in for a while. I had that experience once and wondered why.
Interesting... what was your experience exactly? Would be interesting to compare notes!
@, I do not remember how long ago or the details. But basically I just noticed when I was on a trip that the battery was not charged all the way to 100 after driving several hours. At some point, it was charging to 100% after driving. So I assume your information was the reason!
I've been full-time for almost 8 years. I do NOT want a TouchPad controller: when they fail (mine has twice), the air conditioning doesn't work (happened in August in Oklahoma), the slide & awning can't come in, water pump doesn't function, etc.. When I visited the Hershey RV show, only one manufacturer - didn't have them. I was THRILLED to find it!! The 10,000 Other attendees - soon-to-be first-time buyers - had been told the panels are great, so they were not interested in the one brand without them....
There is only ONE manufacturer that doesn't use touchpads? WOW! That just seems wrong... there are advantages to a more manual function in an RV, and you are right... if the touchpad goes out, nothing would work! Good luck finding a non-touchpad RV... let me know if you find one that fits your needs! Very interested!
And quality!!
Yes... quality is a big deal! I see so many videos with disappointed RVers because the quality is just not there in there very expensive RV purchase!
Nice video about different expectations. Many people don't either know or put enough thought into what type of travel they will be doing. They run out and purchase a van based on looks and price and not function. Then they start traveling and find out that maybe they should have spent more time in the planning stage.
You are so right! I see RV review videos all the time that only considers at the 'pretty' design and the low price.
This is WHY there's 31 Flavors at Baskin Robbins. When you're in a really small space " windows" makes everything appear larger. We just take less stuff with us when we travel. You can have as many slices as you want in a twelve-inch pizza, but it's still 12 inches. On power: redundancy is king. Having a backup is very handy, generators while noisy can save you in an emergency situation. All of this takes planning and your budget. There's no perfect situation out there of course. Great video presentation with options. All of this is very complicated for the people not familiar with RV systems so the learning curve for new people getting into this is very steep. Just take your time and read as much as you can. These video presentations really help.
I have a love/hate relationship with windows. I like the light that comes in (and the feeling of a more open space), but can't stand having windows that people can peer into the van with. If I ended up with an RV with more windows, I'd need some kind of translucent material over them to make them hard to see in... or maybe something that lets me see out but doesn't let people look in. The advantage of more storage isn't just more storage. It's the ability to let go of worrying about what you need to take and what you need to leave behind on a trip. Backup? I don't need no stinking backup! 😆 As you say... 31 flavors... Be seeing you!
Good morning fam!! Loves you! Misses you!! 🫂💚
Luvz youz tooz!
Sooo much I like in the Cape Cod. I am surprised the OCCC is not higher... I thought it would be close to 2,000 lb. Our 2017 Navion J floor plan is 1,250lbs without auto levelers...we didn't want that option, it's 300 lb.
Don't know a lot about the Navion J, although I do know it has a slide out to give you more space. Do you find that the slide out is a good option?
Not really. We seldom use it unless we're staying at least 3 days and not moving; even then We may not. We do not tow a vehicle by choice. So, our 25'6"" Navion( same as View)is our primary transportation anytime camping or mooch dicking. I really wish Winnebago produce the same floor plan without the slide because I'm would give us at least 300 to 500 lb more OCCC. I'm still trying to figure out why the Cape Cod does not have more than 1200 to 1,500 lb OCCC. We have a slide out, 600AH lithium, 3,000W inverter, 640W roof solar, 30amp AC generator, gray and black water tanks all on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis. And our OCCC with lithium system added is still right at 1,100 lb.
@@earlhunt2815 I believe (don't quote me!) that the larger Mercedes Sprinters like yours have a GVWR of over 11,000 lbs, so you are starting off higher than the Ford Transit. If the Ford had the GVWR of the Mercedes, it would have more OCCC.
Thanks! Exactly what I needed to get my heat going tonight on my Embassy
Glad it helped!

Not sure of Embassy's schedule, but I think they will be at Peace Love and Vans with the Cape Cod. You may want to contact them for info!
Enjoyed your video. I’m a wannabe for the Cape Cod. Born and lived many years in Springfield, IL. Now living in Yuma,AZ. Couple weeks ago visited Embassy RV and enjoyed the van tour and appreciated the time spent with Terry. Looking forward to the time when I will enjoy one of your Meetups! Blessings 🌺🙏🏻
Sounds great! Any ideas when you will get your Cape Cod?
Sounds good. I need to test mine like that.
Go for it!
@@RoadsofLife hopefully on my trip next week!
Being able to run AC all night is a game changer!
I have to agree! Do you think the system is working fine with the amount of drain I got overnight?
Robert, actually, I think this is fantastic 🎉 , because, you're running your air conditioning and everything else you need to run all night. This is because you have a 12 volt air conditioner and lithium batteries, plus a huge battery array. 65 percent down on lithium is not a problem. My only question is what temperature were you able to achieve starting with 103 degrees and what was the lowest overnight temperature?
I was asleep during the night of course, but when I went to bed it was around low 80s to high 70s, at least according to the A/C thermometer. It always feels cooler than it says though, so not sure how accurate it is. 🥶
Robert - you are the best! Thank you for capturing these moments of our van family! Thank you also for the smiles and laughter you brought to me today!
Thank YOU for everything you do!

Not sure I could be THAT carnivorous... but I'm tryin'!!
I absolutely LOVE this RV!!!
So glad!
I think most people think it has to do with what they can actually fit inside or strapped to the back & top of the van. However, it seems the OCCC is rather low in class Bs. By the rime you put in the basic necessities, the people & the water... you're very limited on anything else. 😮
That is very true. There may be some builds that are already so heavy you really don't have any weight allowance for storage!
@@RoadsofLife I agree...I don't think most are aware.
And thank you for taking a shower before arriving! 😆
I take a shower twice a year, whether or not I need it! 🤣
It was fantastic meeting you in Oshkosh! Such fun, great people, vans and mischief!

I would like the microwave to be lower for safety reasons. I would rather use a step stool to get frozen items out then hot items from the microwave.
I've had a couple of people comment about this. Not sure how to get the microwave in a different spot, but something to consider! Thanks for commenting.
How does Embassy handle a warranty claim since they are factory direct without dealers?
You'll need to get in touch with Embassy for an answer as we haven't had anything break in our van. Whenever we have had issues with the Embassy build, Embassy takes care of it.
Thank you
You're welcome
Wow. Thankful you weren’t at home to ride out the storm.
Actually... we were home, but the main force was not around us (but enough to cause a lot of damage anyway!). We had to stay with a friend a few hours away for many days since all the power was out. Thanks for commenting and watching!
@@RoadsofLife I loved the views that you shared of your travels. So much familiar to me or I’ll be sure to try to find as I travel.
Wish Embassy would consider double pane windows that opens out, and you can leave out slightly when raining.
I feel your pain! It took Embassy a LONG time to do opening windows of any kind!
I wish it allowed me to connect it to StarLink, we are not often in a Verizon coverage area.
Yeah... it's locked into Verizon only, so not sure how it would connect to other services.
You can always check the area Verizon covers when traveling. That’s what I do as I have the waggle too!
What do you do to check on Verizon coverage? I've seen a coverage map, but it is basically the entire US, so it doesn't give me detail of the area I happen to be in.
@@RoadsofLife escapees.com/planning-your-rv-travels-around-cellular-coverage/
Looks like a great place. Thank you!
It is! The only issue I had was there was a train track nearby, so you have to deal with that noise. It seemed to end around 11 pm or so.
We own a 2022/23 Travato 59G. We paid $106K plus sales tax, title & tag, out the door $113,000.00. We’ve done 2 long trips in it and several short trips in it. The odometer now has 11,500 miles. We have seldom used it the past few months due to the extreme heat in Florida. So it sits and depreciates in our driveway. I want to sell it and cut our losses. My wife wants to keep it. Any thoughts? It’s fun but expensive.
$113k is not a bad total price, but I get where you're coming from. Sometimes you think you will travel one way and it just doesn't turn out that way. For us, the van has worked very well, even though it pretty much sat in the driveway for the first year. I worked full time, so we could only do short weekend trips, if that! But it came in very handy for a couple of reasons. I was working online at home, and I was expected to be online no matter what. Two times we completely lost our internet service, but I just got in the van, ran the engine (which gave me wifi through the Ford service) and was able to continue working with no issues. Most recently, we went through Hurricane Beryl, and were able to leave town for the many days we had no power at all. That makes the van worth it for us. You will have to weigh the benefits, look at taxes and other spending, and whatever extras that RV gives you to decide if it is ultimately worth the expense in the long run. Good luck!
Interesting. I didn’t know about that. I lived in Georgia a long time. Thanks for sharing 👏🏻
That's why RV travel is so worth it. Thanks for watching!
Is there a stove? How heavy of a dingy or trailer will it pull?
I don't think it has a stove. It uses an induction cooktop and has a convection microwave though. You'll have to ask Embassy about trailer weights.
@@RoadsofLifeEmbassy tech specs shows GCVW as 15k and GVWR as 11k, therefore max trailer/toad weight is 4k
@@leonwagenaar4479 Thanks for info!
