Good morning Robert, excellent PSA on basic necessities. Couple of comments; if people want to carry a unit that will jump start their engine and they have a diesel, they must ensure that the unit they purchase can actually start a diesel engine. Many starters are not powerful enough to do this. Also, unless their rig came with a tire pressure monitoring system, I believe your vehicle did, it's very important to have one of these for safety. Also, if they happen to have dual rear wheels, make sure you have valve extensions for the inside tires because if you don't, it will be very difficult to impossible to inflate the interior tire or check the pressure. Finally, do NOT go out on the road without roadside assistance. This is very important.
Thanks! I didn't know about the diesel jump starters... good info to have. You are right about tire pressure. We went out once and ALL our tires were low and I didn't know it until it warned me!! Fortunately, I had just bought a ViAir, so no problem inflating while we were traveling. The ViAir has a dual head pressure gauge, so not much of an issue filling tires.
