I built this guitar out of a pallet I got for free. It's all White Oak other than some pine for the bracing. It was fun! Since some of you are asking, here are some of the inexpensive tools I use for guitars. I do this for fun and I am not wealthy so I try to find the cheapest way to keep the hobby going. I hope this list shows that you can get started without spending all your money! Heating p...

I built this guitar out of epoxy and fruit loops. It was my first time using epoxy. I used a second hand neck and added a little fruit loop headstock decoration. It was a learning experience to be sure. Epoxy pours are no joke. I built this guitar to see if I could. I just thought a dowel based guitar would look cool. I’m not sure I was right. I’m not sure if it will break apart. But it was a fun experiment!

I'm dumbfounded...simply incredible!!
Amazing. And it sounds great’
What is that color of that stain, Danny? I love the green tone!!
Smh you didnt find the strongest wood fibers and weave ur own wood string click bait
Cool vid. Thanks for teasing us with a little sound clip right up front. Smart.
Amazing, well done my friend 😊 The Lord’s love + grace be with you His Hope + peace, in Life, and beyond the grave Hope you are all well and resting in Jesus saving love + grace 😊 Warmest Love + blessing’s friends 😊
Bravo 👏
Yes fab guitar!
For sure labor intensive but nice results. 🎸🎸
That 7th fret is smaller than the 8th fret and just about the same size as the 9th
Willie Nelson would love it.
muito bom trabalho
I have no ties to any of these skills or hobbies, but I thoroughly enjoyed this video! The finished product is beautiful!!!!
Magnificent! This is the kind of art we need more of in the world.
@@Datan0de highly processed and filled with sugar?
@@dannylewisguitars Exactly! Fine art museums should come with a diabetes warning! 😂
anyone know the name of the song at 24:31
Hello friend! That song is called “some random stuff that I played”. I’m sure it’s a million songs but, I wasn’t playing any songs on purpose. I have a capo on the first fret and played E to Asus2 a bunch of times. Then I played a C#minor and a Bsus and back to E and A2. Hope that helps.
well that is really awesome...what might have been a cool idea would have been to saw off the rusty nail heads and use them as fret inlay marker thingies.... but regardless, it still turned out absolutely great!
Wow cool, having cabinetmaker skills I once made a 3 string bo diddley type guitar out of an old wardrobe, was playable as a bass, left it at a previous address, wish I kept it,amazed at the effort this guy has put in,will probably sound better as the wood ages
This is so incredible, what an awesome project. The emotions I felt when you started stringing it up for the first time, I can’t imagine how satisfying that would be. And it sounds great!
i want one where i can contact you?

That is sooo awesome dude! Thank you so much! You have reached legit hero status. 😅❤
Fantastic work. I really enjoyed watching you apply your skills in making the guitar from pallets. An amazing accomplishment.
@14:04 Youve got to love the kids in the background singing about poop. 😂🎉
@2:00 what is this crazy redish rubber thing? I feel like it most be a heater of some kind but the details escape me. Is it possible to use a home appliance like an iron or something to achaive the same bend in the wood?
It is a silicone heating pad! I get the wood wet and then the pad heats it up. Heat plus wet equals steam. Steam makes the wood fibers more elastic. There’s a link in the description! I think it was around $50. I guess you could use an iron. I used a curling iron for my first few guitars! Check out this one: ua-cam.com/video/ovcgG-RuW18/v-deo.html
@@dannylewisguitars thanks so much for the information! I am trying to make a dulcimer out of reused and upcycled materials only. Steaming the wood will be a fun challenge.

Absolutely STUNNING
something sooooooooooo basic, yet soooooooooooo beautiful .... would look perfect in my truck Great work
I want it 😭😭😭
Just incredible. Really beautiful work. Do you do this professionally? If you don't, well...
Nope! I’m a music teacher. I just do this for fun. I’ve sold a few guitars but it’s far from a profession.
It's amazing what you can do with simple tools.
i´ll never ask again why guitars usually are expensive
I love the eyes in the wood
방부목 사람 몸에 매우 해로움
first i though yeah here we go again" then it started to look really good then i thought at least itll be nice to look at (wall hanger)" then when you started playing it i though wow that sounds amazing. A nice full crisp even sound. Not to much bass not too much treble lots of sustain not muddy just nice and clean well done mate Im impressed very impressed. So looks fantastic sounds fantastic Well done.👍👍👍The first pallet guitar that i wished i owned. And im also a luthier of 30yrs
Absolutely incredible. Sounds amazing. Well done!
Great idea for those one off jobs you need a router for.
Did you have to level and crown the frets?
I actually didn’t! The neck was surprisingly well done.
Try making a pallet out old guitars next 🤣. Beautiful workmaship. Glad I watched 👍
Sell it to me?
Oak pallet.....???
Good eye! It was a white oak pallet! Actually a few of the slats were pine. So I used those for bracing.
@@dannylewisguitars guitar sounds great....
When you despair of teenagers today watch this video and a little faith comes back. Fantastic work!
Well I haven’t been a teenager in 17 years. But thanks I guess!
Incredibly good work.

6:35 Inspector Gadget!
Indeed. Go go gadget pallet wood!
For sale? If so, how much?
I’m not planning on selling this one. But if you’d like to reach out about having one built, you can email me! Danny.lewis.guitar@gmail.com
This full build is 25 minutes, and this guitar will probably last about 25 minutes. Notwithstanding the work involved by the builder, pallet wood is the worst quality wood in existence, that's why its used for pallets.
To be clear, the VIDEO was 25 minutes. The full build took several months. I appreciate your concern. So far the guitar has last more than 25 minutes! I’ve played it just about everyday for the last 2 months. I’ll be sure to let you know when it explodes like you seem to think it will!
@@dannylewisguitars It just seems that a talented guitar builder would waste his time making something that is essentially rubbish seems odd to me, and is probably more to do with UA-cam likes than actual interest in the subject. All the best to you.

Huge fan of the build and even bigger fan of the comets!☄️
That came together nicely! You make it look easy!
This was pretty easy! Its my first real kit guitar. It was pretty simple. I'm working on another acoustic at the moment though. No kit, just an old front door that I'm turning into a guitar.
