fun fact: luwang sewu is a famous haunted place in semarang. it used to be the place to torture people. if you explore the underground of the building there's a lot of hidden tunnels that people are forbidden to enter. semarang also have a big chinese temple and community. there's a lot of chinese indonesians living there.

If you like such museums, you should go to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, the POLIN Museum in Warsaw, and the World War II Museum in Gdańsk. There is also a great Solidarity Museum in Gdańsk where you can learn about the times of communism. There is a nice emigration museum in Gdynia. I highly recommend them all.
