How to make slow-stitched bells from scrap fabrics
The second part of my slow-stitched danglers project, these fabric bells will be combined with balls, squishies, tassels and hoarded doodads, to create hanging decorations for the festive season or any time of the year. Next time, I'll be making the bells :)
You can use all kinds of scrap fabrics - lightweight silks and cottons, or fabrics with a bit of stretch work well for these - but do experiment with whatever you have. I'm using pieces from two Scrap Pack bundles from Bazaar -
www.bazaarshop.co.uk/
Type "scrap" in the search box to check out all the options, and don't forget to use our special code to get an extra little something in your order - type ARTY FARTY ANNIE TREAT in the note-to-seller box.

Thanks for sharing I will definitely be making some of these ❤😊
Very cute little bells. Think I will make a few this morning at class well if I am not needed. lol 😜 aww must go back and watch the other one, himm how did I miss this one?
“So prefer the hand sticking ……love the philosophy of using ALL….for me the excitement is building in this series….loving Your Community of Grace….Peace to All
Cute handmade fabric artwork using fabric cloth. Thanks for sharing the pattern.
Love these bells, not too difficult either 😊
I have taken PP's advice and have changed my user name on YT. Just checking to see if it has worked.
Thank you for sharing this fabulous unusual 🔔 bell tutorial ❤
Thank you Annie for the video. I love these little bells ,what a great idea. The rich red really sets it off beautifully. Very festive in that colour. They remind me of those paper things we use to make at school with silly sayings in them.
Very sweet! Thank you for sharing your talents!
Thank you very much for watching, I'm glad you like them :)
Your video was a lovely surprise pop-up on my feed this morning and I found myself liking and subscribing within the first few minutes!! Then I watch the video and found a bounce of excitement within myself that I have not felt in some time. I can’t wait to pull out my scraps of fabric and start making this little gems…. I’m tempted to get more scraps just looking at the treasure trove on your table… I know I should just thing about cutting up my saris that I no longer wear (I’m Indian & now disabled so walking is challenging but walking with lots of fabric flapping around my legs might just be asking to fall 😮. Seeing all the fabric pieces on your tables remind me of a trip to Rajasthan for Indian wedding clothes shopping. Thank you for a fantastic video and can’t wait to check out the rest. I need to do some work first but now I have something to look forward to after work. Varsha 💖✨🙏🏽🫶🏽
Ah thank you so much Varsha, your comment has made me very happy! I know that feeling when you get inspired by fabrics, or a video, or an idea and you just can't wait to get home and try it out. How lovely that you have saris you could use for slow-stitching projects - a shame to cut them up in a way but this would be a different way to use and enjoy them. My Mum was anglo-Indian, she had two or three saris, but sadly I don't know what happened to them, I would love to have them now and do something special with them. She brought back two Rajastani puppets from a trip to India some years ago, I still have them, but nowhere to display them, they're really beautiful. Please do share some pics of your projects, I would love to see them. Thank you for subbing and happy stitching :) xo
cute!!!
Thanks Lisa! :)
Ding,Dong !
hehe I nearly put that in my thumbnail, but wasn't sure everyone would get it! Thanks very much :)
So funny in the video you mentioned you were off to watch my premiere replay and stitch while I’m here watching you and stitching. Love this second scrap project too. Cheers, Christine 💙
hehe I love when that happens, I'm still blown away by how it can feel like we're in each other's craft room when you're on the other side of the world from me, love that we can do that and totally for free, the internet is a wonder to me! :)
You know I love using scraps and orts and all things leftover so I’m loving this series Annie 🤗 cheers, Christine
It's what we do best eh Christine?! :) xo
Great little scrap buster's ❤
Thanks Karen - we don't have many scraps though ... do we ..... hehehe
These are beautiful! Thanks for sharing, but please take care not to overdo things. ❤👍from Somerset
thank you Liz, you are so thoughtful xo

👍👍👍
Could you use the yo-yo maker?
Yes, definitely, that's a good idea, I'll try it next time Beverly, thanks for the suggestion :)
Have know idea of what your doingv😮
Hi Annie, greetings from OZ 🇦🇺😎😍 Its uncanny how these videos pop up when you need them xx I was playing & sorting my craftroom yesterday, yet again ( as we do ), & I came across a container of beautiful silk scarves I used to buy when I came across them, the colours are so beautiful & now I have a project to use them for thanks to you...xxx I'm excited 😁😁 Your shapes are so lovely xxx At the moment I am thread painting & beading some very colourful 8 inch mandalas I cut from a long skirt I bought for $4 from an op shop. I cut out 20 (8 inch) & 25 smaller mandalas & they are turning out so lovely xxx I've had many 'oopsies' with the seed beads, lots ending up on the floor, at one stage I somehow ended up with a few up my pyjama sleeve ...... go figure !!!!!! 😂😂🤣🤣😂 All part of the fun xx TFS XXX love & hugs 😘😘😘
oooh yes, silk scarves would be perfect for this, great idea Pauline! Please do share some pics when you make yours, I would really love to see them :) And the mandalas sound amazing, op shops (charity shops here) are such a great source of fabrics you can reclaim/upcycle - that's a LOT of mandalas, what are you planning to do with them? Please share some pics and tag me so I don't miss them, I'm intrigued :)
@artyfartyannie Hi Annie, I want to stitch them onto a blanket and maybe sew one onto the back of a denim jacket when I find one & sew one onto a calico shopping bag xx I don't know how to share photos ... sorry xx Thanks for your interest 😘 ☺️ xx
Cant wait to make these too long talking
I hope you enjoy making some, sorry if you didn't enjoy my waffle :)
Beautiful!
Thank you! :)
Thank you for sharing this fabulous tutorial ❤️ This will be great for Holidays....really anytime 😊
Thank you for watching Pam, I'm so happy you like it, I'm really enjoying making these and as you say I think they will work any time of year :)
They are wonderful love thay idea xx
Thanks Jacquie! xo
Thank you Annie for your video and great idea. I am doing my best not to link these to your other project we bring up a lot on Saturday lives.😂😂 Seriously though I can see these in the beautiful jewel tones of Bazaar fabric strung up in garlands ,simply glorious.
Thanks Carol :) I just did a great long reply and lost it when the internet died, now what was I saying ... firstly, I know exactly where you mind went Carol!! and then I was rambling on about festooning my craftroom with colourful twinkles, oh and trying Amo's idea of making little twisted ones, like humbugs, must try that. Can't remember what else I was waffling on about :)
Really enjoyed this video and looking forward to the sequels. I am inspired to have a go at making some. Thank you x
Thank you Avril, I'm really happy you feel inspired, please do share some pics if you make some, I'd love to see :)

Ooooh yes, that's a lovely idea - babies love to look at twinkly colourful things don't they? :)
Beautiful decorations Annie, thank you for sharing. Julie Tasmania Australia ❤❤

Absolutely fabulous,do you know if they ship to the USA?
Yes they do, but you need to email them with what you want, then they will quote you for postage and invoice you if you want to go ahead - if you try to order int he normal way on the website, the system will say they don't ship to your country, but they do. Obviously the postage will cost more, but maybe if you get more bundles it will work out better value, I know people have ordered from US and Canada and been very happy, as they've posted pics in our Fb group :)
Now I know what to do with those treasured scraps I hoard for years. Thanks 🙏 so much for sharing your enthusiasm. ❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️
You are so welcome, it makes me very happy when someone is inspired by my videos, thank you :)
Love these Annie. Always appreciate seeing your videos.
Thanks so much, I always appreciate you watching and thank you for taking the time to comment, it means a lot to me :)
Does bazaarshop send to US ?
Yes I believe they do but instead of ordering on their website you have to email with what you want and they'll quote you the shipping cost and sort out payment method etc
As Claire says, you need to email them - if you try to order in the normal way it will say they don't ship to your country, but they do, they'll quote you for postage and then invoice you if you want to go ahead :)
Lovely ideas thsnkyou x
You’re welcome thank you for watching Marilyn😊
Great idea Annie for Christmas decorations xxx
Thank you Maria - I'm enjoying making these so much that I can imagine making enough to make a door curtain!
I am in the UK but googled Indian Fabric Scraps USA. There are some places in the USA selling them.
Ah brilliant, thanks Sue, I'll try and remember to mention that next video :)
Looking lovely Annie. I think these will be easier for me to deal with as hens were a bit too fiddly for my old fingers.
ah yes those hens are fiddly, I've got a few hoarded which I'll be combining with this for my danglers :)
Lovely balls with your scraps. I have a very tall glass vase with loads I made some years ago which were then in a magazine article. Theres even one totally covered in sequins. I also had a beautiful piece of Indian ribbon which I made into rectangles but offset the end seams like a humbug before hanging them in my doorway.
Great idea, thanks Amo, I'll do the last few humbug-wise, I bet that looks really cool. I've just had a quick peek at your channel, looks really interesting, so I subbed and I'll be back for a better look later :)
More lovely ideas Annie, thank you 💕
Thank you Liz, I'm very glad you like them! 😊
Excellent series of videos ….love tutorials ….
Glad you like them Sherry, thank you very much for watching :)
I looked into Bazaar, but shipping to the US is a bit much. Actually, it’s a lot much! So sad. I would love some of their products!
Ah yes it's a shame about the cost of shipping. Might be more worth it if you were having more bundles??? I know people have ordered from US and Canada and been very happy with them. It would be worth loolking to see if anyone over there is doing something similar, please do let me know if you find someone , I would be happy to share it in a future video :)
@ I’ll look. It’s a minimum of $50 to ship. Ouch. I don’t know of anyone else in my area. And honestly, since I only hand stitch, I can’t justify it. So sad though. Their stuff is mouthwatering
Lovely idea for using up scraps ,will look forward to seeing the finished garlands.
Thanks so much 😊
Make lovely baubles ❤
Yes I was thinking that too Karen, great minds! :)
Can’t believe seeing your video Annie, I’ve been making so many decorative balls recently ( great minds ) it’s been very therapeutic whilst I’ve been unwell. I do make mine a bit differently, I think everything you’ve done is fabulous. x 💐
Isn't it weird how that happens Jen? I'd love to see yours if you don't mind sharing some pics - how do you make them? :)
@@artyfartyannie yes I too would like to see/ talk about how to makes these sweet little bobbles also from here in the States….
You are so creative. What a great idea.❤
Thank you Rhonda! 😊
Such a beautiful tag! So creative
It's really inspired and so beautifully stitched isn't it? :)
@ it really is!
