This series will follow my progress from my CBT all the way to getting my full bike licence. Gaps along the way will be filled with product reviews for items I will use along the way. You can also expect some rides out around the beautiful Isle of Wight where I call home, and shopping for my first 125cc motorcyle...

The Nice Weather Won't Last Forever! Triumph Bobber POV
After a couple of weeks of minimal riding due to other commitements, I take my Triumph Bobber to get it's first service from the local Triumph Dealer. I also take the opportunity to drop off my accounts. This dry weather won't last forever so it made sense to go for a little B road blast on my Bobber before they chuck loads of salt on the road over winter. In this video I'm riding my Triumph Bobber Stealth.. 🥷🏾🚀

First time i filled up i had to keep moving the bike coz i thought the fuel pump would of been longer than it was 😂😂😂
🤣 Haha bet you felt like a right wally! Welcome to my world 😀
Found your channel after searching for Honda CB125F videos and they are class man! Just passed my CBT this friday just gone so you bet im excited to get my first bike! Was gonna go straight for my A licence as I'm 24 but holy crap after using a 125 on the test you really don't realise how powerful these little things are, can you imagine I was gonna get an R6 or R1 as a first bike! Lol no more. Gonna be sensible and buy a 125 first so I can practice more before I get on the roads and then ride for a bit to build up experience, then move onto a bigger bike once I pass my test! Cheers for the rec Tommy!, always good to find ways in keeping warm
Alright Baz, nice work getting your CBT done. Nothing wrong with a 125, and I agree it is good to get some hours under your belt before going for a big bike licence 👍 Thanks for watching 😀
Great video Tom. My COC seat should be here this week. I can't wait! Ride safe. Cheers!
Thank you mate, you'll love it! Fantastic bit of kit 👌
Looks nice, enjoy.
Thnks Ron, I'm absolutely loving it! 👌
How it going Tommy, you getting plenty of miles in?
Hey, all good thanks. Not been out since I took it for a service a couple of weeks ago. The Council have been salting the roads, and I'm super busy at work in December. More soon 😀
Im doing my CBT next year dreading it never been on a motorbike before in my life
You'll be fine I'm sure. You should look forward to it. Good luck! 😀
Very nice vid, good practice, are you going to do "slow speed" practice vids?
Thanks, yes plenty of this stuff in my Mod 1 and 2 videos 😀
Love your confidence, nice to see some "electrics" done & sorted with a nice touch, (I always thought when sorting cables, "keep them straight?" now you excess cables are wound up together in loops), I just thought that was bad? (but I do not know?) your are obviously kept out of the way, undewr the seat with cable ties, but I just think they could have been routed along any space under the seat (with cable ties) but in straighter lines not loops. again, I do not know the technicalities of this problem. I am certainly not saying you are wrong, I just do not know?
I have no idea either! It works out just fine like this so I guess it doesn't reall matter either way 👍
Yo Tommy, congrats on the pass and the new bike. Looks a beaut. Started learning back in March and passed myself last month (November). Also started on a CB125F. Was great watching along as you progressed while I was doing the same.
Thank you, congrats back at ya! What did you go for after you 125F ?
@TwoWheelsTommy Thanks very much! I've got a long wish list that went through a honda rebel, honda Rune (look that thing up 😅), the nc750x, a kawasaki versys or 1000sx. But insurance is awful. Settled on a yamaha xj6, I learned on them and they are genuinely fun, friendly reliable bikes. The rune and sx are still future plans.
@shirosforge Those Rune's are bonkers! My friend Harriet who I was learning with has got an XJ6, smart bike 👌
Hate to dissapoint tommy but the song "Ticket to Ride" certainly was not meant to be a ticket to travel to Ryde, just a meaning to just have a ticket to Go! (somewhere) this was discussed with a scouser over 20 years ago!
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one 🤣 From McCartney's own book....."John and I always liked wordplay. So, the phrase ‘She’s got a ticket to ride’ of course referred to riding on a bus or train, but - if you really want to know - it also referred to Ryde on the Isle of Wight, where my cousin Betty and her husband Mike were running a pub. That’s what they did; they ran pubs. He ended up as an entertainment manager at a Butlin’s holiday resort. Betty and Mike were very showbiz. It was great fun to visit them, so John and I hitchhiked down to Ryde, and when we wrote the song we were referring to the memory of this trip. It’s very cute now to think of me and John in a little single bed, top and tail, and Betty and Mike coming to tuck us in." 😀
@@TwoWheelsTommy Well well well, I think your explanation is very plausible, much better than the "dicussion" I had with a scouser over 20 years ago, maybe he was 'nt serious? but I remember he was very forceful about it, and it was only about the words "ticket to ride" what was the exact meaning?
@NatSatFat Haha by all accounts McCartney was a regular sight in the bars around Ryde.
First time riding you did ride smoothly I am thinking of getting bike in the UK after CBT just thinking what I am going to do in the with my nervous problem 😂
Thanks! It is only natural to be nervous. It doesn't last long. Go get it! 😀🚀
Wow that was such a long ride for your first time! My heart was in my mouth watching this! You did amazing! Really wanting to do my cbt, do you think automatic would be easier in your opinion?
Ha yes it was a bit of a trek! You should get your CBT booked. Auto will be easier for sure but if you want to ride a manual bike after your CBT you should consider doing your CBT on a manual (It's not that hard!). Good luck!
I personally like that your videos are long, I can stick a video on while I'm working and listen away, I don't normally sit and watch (coz I'm working) lol Seems expensive for just the parts without labour, but not overly so. Keep riding man 👍🏍️
Thanks for the feedback 👍 I do the same! Yes it was quite dear I suppose but at least I know it was done properly. 😀
Nice vid, when in drizzle rain on a CB125F when braking should you use both brakes? or back or front?
Thanks, you should really use both in equal measure. You get a feel for it. You can also kill speed by going down the gears so you don't have to use the brakes so much👍
If you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay for insurance after your CBT as a ‘learner driver’. I would like to do my CBT and then my full A licence but have never ridden at all. Not sure if it’s worth getting a little 125 to practice on after CBT or save the money for a bigger bike once fully passed. Saw on some forums people were quoted £1000+ on CBT insurance as Learners which seems crazy to me. I know everyone’s different but a rough idea would be nice. Been driving cars for 12 years not sure that makes any difference with quotes though.
Hi Melissa. Good question, with a million different answers! Personally I think I paid around £200 for my 125 insurance. Personal circumstances play a large hand in what you pay. For me, I'm in my 40's, have a child, own my own house and live in an area with minimum vehicle theft etc. Also helps massively that in 25 years of driving I've managed to dodge (!) any speeding fines and stuff. I have seen some ridiculous quotes for learners, generally who live in a city centre where vehicle crime is much worse. Shop around though, when I swapped to my Bobber having passed my test some of the quotes were still mad. Still got a good deal though so a little legwork here can save you £££. Good luck with it all, and thanks for watching 😀
@ thanks for the reply. £200 is much more reasonable! Wouldn’t mind that sort of price at all! Fingers crossed mine would be similar. I’ve booked in for my theory and if I can pass that I’ll treat myself to the CBT ( I know you don’t need it for the CBT but I’d rather it done and out the way so if I really enjoy it I can hurry up with main license) hope you’ve have a great first year riding!
@melissat922 You're welcome! Good luck with your theory test, be sure to check out my theory test video as you may find the hazard avoidance stuff helpful. I have loved every single ride, thanks. It's better on a big bike too so you have a lot to look forward to 😀🚀
Very intesting to know its not plain sailing! what I mean is, yes its a learning experience, and its good to know that people who experience this, are average! and have average problems? good info.
Glad you like the video. People like to preach that the CBT is easy. It is after you have forgotten the nerves and anxiety leading upto, and during the CBT. The same could be said for a lot of things. Worth doing though despite how much you have to take in on the day 😀
Love the noise this bike makes! I ordered some stickers off you last night and you just posted them to me - you don't mess about do you?! 😂 Look forward to getting them, thank you. Love the channel, keep the videos coming. I did my cbt last week aged 50. Should have done it years ago, your videos are encouraging me along my journey to full licence 👍🏼
Thanks, I can't believe how good they sound with the factory exhaust. Thanks for buying some stickers, I aim to provide an efficient service, only to get let down by Royal Mail 🤣 Nice work doing your CBT, glad you like the videos. Thanks for watching!
@TwoWheelsTommy Mate, received my stickers this morning. I absolutely love them. And the extra ones are fantastic, thank you so much! Especially the kill the indicator one, I was saying that to myself on my CBT 😂. Merry christmas to you too 👍🏼
@gowervannika_van3714 That was pretty quick for this tie of year! Glad you like them. Have a great Christmas!
what is your go pro setting i have a hero 12 and it lasts me about 45 mins if im luckly i have the go pro extra batteries any help wpuld be greatly appreciated thanks
Hey, I shoot in 4k only, couldn't tell you exactly what settings at this time as my cameras are at work but I am planning a full setup video in the new year (Just waiting on another camera to arrive). 45 mins isn't bad though, I'm lucky to get that out of mine, so I always carry spare batteries. 👍
Great video! 👍🏽
Thanks for watching! 😀
Hola, do you know how to change KPH to MPH? thanks
Hey, you couldn't do it on this unit. I queried this with Aoocci and they said they were due to include it in a software update. If you are unsure, contact them before ordering to see if this has been actioned yet.
@@TwoWheelsTommy Already ordered but waiting for a response, thanks
@blackskunk54 Nice one, it was not a dealbreaker for me since Waze has a gps speedo in MPH 👍
@@TwoWheelsTommy OK thanks, good point
You might be interested to know that TomTom does a phone version of their sat-nav which links up to CarPlay. (It's an annual subscription.) That will be useful because Google Maps only works if you've got Internet access; it goes dead if there's no signal. I see a lot of bikers advertising these types of gadgets, but they're not proper sat-navs which have maps stored on them which update every few weeks.
Interesting, I'll take a look into that 👍
125 to 1200? that seems extreme for a first time, (never mind the proice difference 125 £2/3000 Triumph bombber £8/10000) I thought you would have gone for a reasonable 350/400 for a few years to get experience, then maybe shell out on a beutiful 650 to enjoy although your bike looks great, 1200 is a bit much for early days biker, anyway, I hope you are fine on it, look foreward to more vids.
Yeah, bit mad for sure. But, they only make Triumph Bobbers with the 1200 engine so that's the way the cookie crumbled. They only go as fast as you twist the throttle so essentially it is no different to a 125, albeit it 'can' go quicker.
Fair enough honest answer, I get "I love it I will get it" but you take it easy now, ok I o W is tamer than the mainland BUT, I bet you will love taking it down to the Duver to show off, take care.
@NatSatFat Ha, yes the Duver is right round the corner from my workshop. Love it down there 😀
Good to see some bobber action again
Never enough Bobber action haha
Very helpful thanks - ordered!
Glad it was helpful!
Love the Isle of white it’s the last British place that still looks British
For now! I have lived here on 3 separate occasions. Each time it has gone more downhill. Still quite magical though!
I don't enjoy riding in the winter myself, that is what the car is for!
Bang on! Cold and wet, no thanks!
Not sure why but the motion sickness I got from this video is insane.
Oh dear! 😯
Rain or shine I’ll be on mine. ice or snow the car will go. Loved to see an overtake mate soon come it’ll be rolling burnouts with a middle finger up 😂
Haha great ethos! Oh I did that but my SD card was corrupted 🤣
Former IOWer here. Been watching your videos for about a month now and I passed my CBT today. Massive thank you as your videos have been my main source of learning to ride since then. Love watching and keep it up.
Thanks for watching! Great work getting your CBT done, the fun starts now for you 😀
The Bobber is good looking. My bike has the same power but less torque and I don't need different modes on it. I guess in the UK you love big bikes but only use them in rain mode. Why not just get a smaller bike😉
I agree, they look wicked. Easy answer to that one, the Bobber isn't available with a smaller engine so it was a 1200 or a different bike!
May i ask who your mod friendly insurer is? Enjoy the sunny days Tommy and thanks for sharing your ride out.
Of course, it is Hastings. Thank you!
In terms of video length 20 mins seems to works. Not sure if I’m saying that because the average video out there seems to be that kinda length. Probably something to do with You Tube algorithms. That all said I still view your 40 min ones. I’ve only 500 miles on the ST, but I’m expecting to pay around £65.00 for my 600 mile service, parts only. I’d say yours should be around the same price, give or take. 😊 Are you going to ride in “Road” mode. Let me know how that goes as I find my Speed Twin 1200 has a snatchy throttle in “Road” mode.. 😊
Not far off! Some dealers obviously charge more for labour than others. I was going to try Road mode on the way home but I forget! I'll probably leave it til next year now, give me something to look forward to in the spring. I hear you, I found bigger bikes snatchy after riding my 125 but I think it was just because something actually happened when I twisted the throttle! I reckon it is something that you get used to 👍
hahah oh thats mine ! 17:55
Haha I had no idea it was my bike until I saw my sticker on the tank 🤣
I will be riding throughout the winter, but only in dry weather. Winter miles, summer smiles. More for cyclists really., but it's good to keep practising
I agree, I'll carry on as normal as long as it is dry and there is no danger of salt/grit mashing up my bike.
£83 for the parts, was the labour free?
Yep, with Triumph, if you buy a new bike they agree to only charge you for the parts on the first 600 miles service. The labour is free…
That is correct, labour is free on the first service. I bet they get it back further down the line 🤣
@@TwoWheelsTommy trust me Tommy. That is definitely clawed back over time.. 🤣🤣
@Happydays-d9p 🤣
Just bought the exact same bike and is stored for winter while i do mods to it lol. Looking forward to seeing what you do to it. 👌
Good choice Ray. I will be nursing mine through winter, it won't see any road salt! Thanks for the sub😀

Gamechanger TJ!
@ couldn’t find the brand- did you even mention it? There’s tons on Amazon.
@matthewleitch431 Link in the description mate 👍
First mod 1 training today, test on the 26th, mod 2 on 2nd of December, haven't rode since an accident 7 months ago, I'll be fine 😅😂
You can do it! Good luck 😀
Iv got a 125 scooter. I want a ktm 125 but shit scared to try a geard bike
Alright Chris, the gears will be weird for a bout 5 minutes. It's easy really. 1st gear kick down, 2nd gear plus you kick up. Give it a try, you'll get on fine 👍
I don't want to buy a geard bike then have to sell it because I can't ride it
@chrisedwards6972 Talk to some of your local motorcycle training schools. My school offered a taster session so you could try them out before doing the CBT if you wanted. Ask around. Honestly, it seems daunting but it really isn't. Pursue it :)
@@TwoWheelsTommy IV got my CBT but like a twat I did it on a scooter as I already had a scooter at home now I want a geared bike I don't just want to buy one and regret it
@chrisedwards6972 Still talk to some local schools to see if you can have a go around their training area. I expect any school will be keen to let you as they will want to train you when you decide to go for your full licence. Just ask them, tell them your concerns and see where it goes. You won't be the only one in this situation 👍
Yessss tommmy, it’s been a while since I’ve been active just was feeling extremely down deleted all my socials and kinda hid away, all I have to say is I no longer go to Southampton, hope all is well looks like your channel is doing amazing keep it up ✌️thank you for them free stickers last Christmas 👏
Hey, sorry to hear that. Good to hear you feel better now. Channel is doing ok thanks, won't be much going on over winter though I wouldn't imagine! You're welcome 👍
What a brilliant video....thank you Tommy!
Glad you like it, thanks for a great product! Feel free to link to the video if it will help your customers 😀👍
@@TwoWheelsTommy I will...thank you again.
@c.o.c.customs9784 You're welcome. If you have any other products in the pipeline, willing tester here!
@@TwoWheelsTommy if I have any more brainwaves you'll be the first to know!!!😁
@c.o.c.customs9784 Good to hear 😀👌
Can't believe how cheap that is! I'll check it out, thanks
Absolute bargain!
Honda's are amazing bike, i bought an innova 125cc and did my CBT on it, been riding it 20 years and not one breakdown, only problems i ever had was with flat tyres. I getting rid of it now though, it's time for a new moped, sadly probably not going to be a Honda though.
Yeah, great bikes! What do you think you will replace it with?
cars are for when its cold
I agree, I'm definitely a fair weather rider. But you can have nice riding weather when it is cold, which I enjoy!
Hi Tommy, just been out for 5 hr ride, and slightly colder in Devon today, shoulders were cold, so this is ideal I am normally a 44" suit jacket so was thinking of getting the Medium size, what size did you get , and does it heat up well and help on a cold ride ? Keep up the great videos.
Hey, that's a good long ride! It is starting to get colder here now (I hate the cold!) I am wearing an XL. It will not warm all of you but if some of you is warm that helps a lot. The neck warming is ace! Thanks for watching 😀
Hey Tommy. I passed my cbt today. Definitely made it easier after constantly watching your videos. Thanks mate. Keep up the good work. I’m off to have a look at a renegade commando later tonight 😅.Ride safe ❤
Nice work! Thanks for watching 😀 Hope you like the Commando 👌
1200 cc what’s the insurance like
Not too bad, just renewed for about £250, with all the add-ons
@ bloody hell. Cost me a grand for a 500cc as a new rider with full security and I’m 44.
A great share Tommy. 😊
Thank you! Hopefully help a few people out. Bargain!
I Love mine. A game changer for me. The process seems a little easier with non standard shock. Like my Wilbers 640. This is like a magic carpet now but still with sense of the road and ride. Thanks for the vid 🙏👍
It is a fantastic product. Interesting, I didn't look at the instructions for the aftermarket shocks. The ride is awesome now for sure 😀
Think you need a necktube Tommy
Yes I do have one, I'll have to dig it out 👍
