A film room on Trice would be cool he seems to have potential. Also, I think they have been dropping Herbig into coverage too much and that is limiting his effectiveness. They seem to really be doing that a lot in three linebacker sets.

You have been my favorite but one of the reasons is because you did not used to just talk at us but did film rooms they seem to have almost gone away.

If Pickens runs his correct route, that's still getting picked off. 'Muth was double covered. You expect that from Mitch Trubisky, but not the QB Steelers media acts like walks on water. How does this team improve to a borderline top 10 offense when half their projected salary cap space is going to someone who isn't an elite QB & has proven he isn't the piece that's putting them over the top? This skill group is nearly devoid of consistent/reliable talent. The two closest are a TE who does his best work where the QB doesnt want to throw and a WR who can crash out on you at any moment for any stupid reason? (& It's hard for a 5'7" 165 lb receiver to be consistent regardless how much he's exceeded expectations).

It’s crazy because they do so much 7 shots just for both ends of the football to be bad in the redzone

I want Sutton and Kazee gone. I hated choosing Kazee over Edmunds. I hated resigning Sutton after he beat his girl (dude should be in jail). Give me Beanie, Trice, Pierre, more extra linebacker stuff; either Herbig, Highsmith, Watt at the same time, or Queen, Wilson, and Roberts... our linebackers are strong, so lean into that whenever you can get away with it to cover for the bad nickel and dime DBs.

Do you think there is any chance they move on from TA this offseason? I understand Tomlin has a say in the defense, but this has been an underwhelming unit (considering the pieces they have) all year that is now seemingly falling apart over this recent stretch

Slow starts on offense, broken communication and missed coverages on defense, repetitive play calling/formations and questionable personnel use on several offensive plays, all point to poor coaching. Three weeks in a row, the Steelers were dominated by the best teams. Another one and done...that's who they are for several years now.

You’re finally answering some of the questions people won’t answer for one reason or another about what is the difference between a great and good team and how narratives and practical goals are contradictory. I think so much of the teams success in years to come is squarely on Jones. The difference between a below average RT and dominant run blocking RT is a huge driver of actually getting to the teams desired identity. That plus a good a lot corner and real WR2 anyways haha

Im not one of those fire Tomlin fans but we might need a hungrier coach thats still trying to build his resume. Tomlin looks like he’s gotten comfortable with mediocrity just looking at who he thought would’ve been OC after Canada. Also the defensive planning has been so bad. Theres no point in having a high paid defense if theyre too tired to stop anyone. They need to take some of that money and spend it on offense including getting a great offensive mind on the coaching staff. I got love for Najee but its that time for him to find a new team more suited for his skillset. Not using the middle of the field alot is crippling the offense. Russ passes have been getting batted down kinda frequently these past couple games too.

We need to fix the offensive line. Continue to triage the line until next year. Then let Kahn do what you does in the draft and free agency.

Coaching is a problem. We've changed a lot of things and matt Canada took the only L for coaches. He wasn't the only one who should have been out. Brian Flores over TA should have happened, and Eric Bienemy was available. Its not like we had any contracts to handle beside Mike T and Cam..

If they do get a game vs Houston, I’m left thinking about them getting boat 🚤 raced by them last year. Teams that exhibit superiority to the Steelers (Chiefs, Eagles 🦅, Brady in history)… we seem to be unable to flip the script in any way (coaching)? We just continue to just do the same thing into the wood chipper. I wonder 🤔 if Houston holds that same sort of dynamic on your film study 🎥?

Easier recap. Steelers forgot they had a real game today. They thought it was only a walk through practice.

Im worried about the over abundance of mistakes on both sides of the ball. This defense is rated at a top 5 unit for pretty much the entire year. Lately we have not been able to cause these teams issues. The eagles shower us how bad our secondary is. Baltimore completely changed their gameplan from the first time we met them. KC showed us how bad we are at adjusting. On all fronts in the last three weeks, we have been getting exposed at all levels of defense. Thats a major issue when your front 7 is 99 percent healthy. Our offense is very weak when it comes to starting games. Arthur is one of the main issues of this. We are simply not efficient when it matters. Same concepts over and over do not work. Great coordinators know when to adjust and abandon gameplans and install new ones virtually on the fly. In the eagles game, arthur was in single bak and motioned the TE into the backfield on three separate occasions in the same drive. They were all minimal gains. That right there is the definition of insanity. When a coordinator is actively trying to force something to work, he is not cut out to be a coach in this league. Overall there has been a massive decline is quality of play on both sides and it is really hard to see an out through all this madness.

Even though there has been no evolution to the Steelers offense ,my biggest concern going into the end of the season is the inability to make opposing offenses one dimensional or take away what they want to do best.

I’m concerned how unsurprising a lot of the issues are. Offense lacking firepower, QB play not up to par, OL issues, defense crumbling against well coached offenses, just the team looking and feeling lost when facing a real test. It’s a familiar experience by now.

Overall I think the last 3 weeks have showed that we are a good, but not great team. The lack of a true WR2 is showing. The thing that has worried me is Russ turning the ball over. We will not win games against good teams if we turn the ball over period. Defensively, Patrick Queen’s coverage is very inconsistent and Cam Sutton should not be on the field. Sutton looks SLOOOOOW

Honestly, I should've just turned the TV off when Russ fumbled the ball by himself on the 2nd play of the game and then the punt return to our 40.

Defense: PA last year was 18.8. so far this year 20.5, the defense has regressed. It's worse if you slice up this season, first 8 games (incl. Giants) 14.8, Last 8 games 26.1.

I agree Beanie should be slot cb. Whatever they paid Sutton was too much. He's only had a few special teams plays that stand out. Pickins gave up on the interception. If he would have continued downfield it could been a TD.

not a fire Tomlin guy, but I have to question the organization’s desire to win at this point. It feels like from the top down there is not much pride in this team anymore. Under the previous Rooney’s being a Super Bowl contender was the standard. It certainly feels all doom and gloom right now, but we do have a lot of the foundation to build on, I’m just seriously contemplating whether the organization wants to build on it.

Problem #1 Teryl Austin or whoever tf is ruining this defense. Our defense has been over hyped this year just because the ball was bouncing our way most of the time and now it’s not. You don’t have a championship caliber defense if you have to rely on scarce splash turnovers.

The pass rush is terrible. I just said this. If you can't get home with home crowd noise. 50 million dollars TJW90 AH56 and CH97 and the Chiefs pass rush outdated them at home

I really don’t see anything changing unless one or all of the following happens… A. Coaching needs to look in the mirror… change how things are running or re evaluate it. B. New coaching regime… (sounds crazy, but Tomlin’s way has not yielded results that matter) C. Have a losing season… get more high quality players… or suffer in mediocrity for a long time… D. All of the above

My number 1 concern is coaching on both sides of the ball. Defensively, communication issues has plague this team for 10 plus years. Tomlin said Kelce was a zone beater before the game but chose to run zone to try and cover him. Im perplexed at the number of wide open receivers this year. On the offensive side of the ball, everything looks so hard. Even screens look clunky. The offensive line isnt great so why dont they use tempo more. It worked the couple times they used it but they stopped.

A few things: I like Najee but he’s very average most games, his feet are too slow My biggest concern is the secondary, we need a great corner so bad. Us passing on Christian Gonzalez is almost as bad as us passing on Lamar Jackson lmao

I knew the offense would come down to earth even though the run game has been better with them using Jaylen more, but I’m seriously wondering what happened to the defense that was considered a top 6 unit in the league, now playing like a bottom 10 unit 🤔. How do you start having communication issues this late in the season, when earlier it was barely a problem?
