Fields has missed 5-8 opportunities in each of the last 2 games atleast in the passing game based on reads. Now can Russell do this and give us most of those opportunities? I'm not necessarily against it especially if it's well schemed. I mean against the Raiders he was open quite a few times even in the end zone as I'm sure you've seen from the A-22. Likewise with Washington being open. Fields trying to force the ball to Pickens has ultimately cost him the job IMHO.

What is being lost in all of the talk about the “Justin Fields Benching” Idea was that he was ALWAYS the back up and Russell Wilson was the Starter.. The same way when Dak got hurt and his replacements came in and went undefeated, but once Dak was fully healthy we knew he was the starter.. its the same thing here

Do you think with time Fields could become a better passer on the caliber of Lamar or Josh Allen? Or do you think he has hit his peak as a passer.
I don’t think that’s likely to happen. Those guys were all great by year 4. He may just be what he is. A competent QB with major flaws.

Is it safe to say that a lot of offensive struggles are due to the coaching staff? Like I get they wanted to run the ball more but I mean Greg Roman would’ve been a better option especially because he’s been an OC for a mobile QB who worked in a system where there wasn’t a true number 1 receiver.. I think Tomlin should’ve just let fields play out the rest of the first half of the season and then if u want to make a change during the bye then ok..

@@Steelers_DB I get that and that I think needs to fall on the front office shoulders.. I just think the receiver position was mishandled HORRIBLY and now they’ve been trying to do patch work and it’s not working.. I think a shift in spending on the offense should happen next off season

I want fields to continue to start but I trust Mike T’s decision. Because if we start Russ and lose this game it’s 100% Mike Ts fault and he will look like a fool for taking Justin out. I really don’t think we win this game with Russ. The main weakness for the jets defense has been QB runs.
