@@lui1760 Yes! Thank you!!
At 2 minutes and 6 seconds you do not have a Spring in place
@@rdaleellison3503 unfortunately, this one didn’t come with it. But I’d keep the oem spring and maybe cut 1/4 of it. This bike was my buddies bike. I owned a xv700
So I just bought a 94 xv1100 from a guy and he tried doing the delete. So he used a hose to connect the 2 silver pipes together then he capped off the bigger manifold pipe and left the sensor hose unattached and the rear one was also not connected to anything. Would that be why my engine Boggs down after 5.5-6k rpm?
@@djpsychic5324 I will definitely try to eliminate everything like you should to prevent any vacuum leaks. They can be a pain. If it keeps boggin down, I’d try doing a carb sync. Hopefully that takes care of the issue!
@@lui1760 thank you, like it rips really hard sub 6k rpm only if I don’t twist the throttle too fast, if I twist it too fast it’ll want to bog out as well. I know it has aftermarket exhaust system and pod air filter so I may need bigger jets, also is there a way to adjust the air fuel screw without taking the carb off? cause I can’t see if from how it sits normally.
@@lui1760I also just realized the manifolds on mine are swapped so the one with 2 inlets are on the rear and the sensor hose is just free hanging
Thanks for the video. It helped me I inherited a 1985 virago 1000 & it has been sitting in a shed for a long time. I can't figure out how to open the gas cap.
@@Hogbellylife gas cap should be same as ignition key. At least mine was. Hopefully you can figure that out!
I know this is an old vid, but how did your bike run after? And what was the reason for deleting this? Thanks bud.
Due to unfortunate events, I sold my bike, but it ran great! That’s just for emissions. It’s an older bike so we didn’t have to take it to emissions anymore. Less of a chance of a vacuum leak. 🙏🏼
Thanks man
Hey Lui, is the left diaphragm different than the right one ? I changed mine but I think I put them twisted and the carbs making knocking noise from the carbs slides are knocking up and down. Any idea?
You definitely want to have them how they came out. These carbs are very picky. Kinda annoying lol

Anytime you open the carbs, you want to double check by doing this procedure. 😎 I did mine because I had to mess with my fuel etc
Does the bigger inlet on the manifold just get plugged since the smaller hose goes into the manifold?
That is correct!
Thank you. Also, there is what looks like a charcoal canister by the right rear shock. Can that be pulled off after as well?

Hi, Lui, do you think it will be suitable for XV750 Virago (1982)? Dose these coils have connection/ports instruction specifying front and rare cylinder? Gray and Orange wire are ment for rare and front cylinder, both have different power output therefore change of wire color. Due to cylinder position, the rare get more hoter than front and therefore jetting of carbs is also little different for both cylinders.
Hello! Yes, it will work. I have a buddy of mine that did it to his 750 and he loves it! Wherever you connect the orange or gray wire, just use the plug going to that cylinder. Does not come with instructions
I heard you saw you did this to a 750 but I can’t find the video and I’m losing my mind trying to figure it out

I have a question, I have the single fire coil and a DIY plug wire set for my 1982 virago 750, but the spark plug boots dont have resistors in them like the OEM ones. Would that be a problem if I didn't use resistor spark plugs or a resistor cap?
One of them has to have it for sure. That’s how I was taught. Either the cables or the plug

Oh yea! These babies require some work haha. But when they run right, they’re beasts! add a cable from battery negative post to bottom bolt on starter, cut 180° from idler spring, add stabilizer, and add some choke before turning on and presto! Works the best!

nice 1, made it very simple
I also have two questions.. but when I want to put it in 1st or 3rd gear, the engine dies and why does it only work in a spark plug with a good spark plug and good current?? Mulțumesc..
Might have to check your idle knob. Make sure it stays around 1,000-1,200 RPMs at all times. You may have to adjust all the time because it’s an older bike. Make sure to check air/fuel ratio as well by the carbs.
I have a 1984 Yamaha virago I was wanting to know if I could put two separate carburators on the bike like two cheap 350cc rateded carbs one on each cylinder set up the same way.
How many ccs is your bike?
700
I’d definitely would recommend putting original parts like a Hitachi Carb or Mikuni carb. If you really want to go All out, I’d get a VM 38 flat sides. I honestly don’t know if 350cc carbs would work. They’re carbs so it maybe will work? Just gotta have the manifolds and intake seated properly and make sure you have your accelerating wire getting to both carbs.
I have a few questions. Are you responding?

Great video! Would this assist with issue of starter ticking not turning over issue?
Thanks! Yes! It helped mine a lot. What I ended up doing was cutting 180° off of the spring by the starter, adding a negative wire from battery to bottom of the starter bolt, and the stabilizer. Once all that is done, you should be set! It’s an older bike so it may need some help, use some choke and start her up!
