You can use one blue spade connector for the center. Strip the wires twist them together then crimp the connector. Two connectors on one terminal can sometimes cause them to come loose.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been wondering what that cavity with those was on my xv700 too. Mine didn’t have those in it just had the tubes from the spark plugs resting in there. Looks like I thanks to you I now know what to add to my super long checklist of things to replace and fix haha thank you again
BEARDED CAT Guitar haha no problem man! I love mine! Hot spark all the time. I do have more videos on here about the 700. If you need any help, the vids are there! 😁 trying to produce more. But I’ve been busy with work.
Hi, Lui, do you think it will be suitable for XV750 Virago (1982)? Dose these coils have connection/ports instruction specifying front and rare cylinder? Gray and Orange wire are ment for rare and front cylinder, both have different power output therefore change of wire color. Due to cylinder position, the rare get more hoter than front and therefore jetting of carbs is also little different for both cylinders.
Hello! Yes, it will work. I have a buddy of mine that did it to his 750 and he loves it! Wherever you connect the orange or gray wire, just use the plug going to that cylinder. Does not come with instructions
EUGEN Negru hello, no, the OEM coils can be on there. I just had problems with my coils so I replaced to these Harley coils. It’s like accel, but wayyyyy cheaper. Accel you just pay for the brand name.
That's helpful though your remarks about replacement coils are only if you wish to keep Yamaha coils, since I've found several places that have suitable repair parts for far less than your HD, high-performance coil. Not really gonna matter to me as I'm just wanting to have a commuter ride to work, not a show and tell machine. I'll keep this in mind if things should ever change. Stay safe and be well.
@REKETT Yes, they are the same. If anything, follow which wire goes to which coil and connect the new one to that one. Follow the wires. If anything, you can come ask me! Join our fb group, a lot of good Intel!
I have a question, I have the single fire coil and a DIY plug wire set for my 1982 virago 750, but the spark plug boots dont have resistors in them like the OEM ones. Would that be a problem if I didn't use resistor spark plugs or a resistor cap?
Oh dang I'm so sorry bro. I hope she's well. Keeping her and your family in my prayers. I was just wondering if you had any issues or if it got hot or anything. Im thinking of running it in my cafe. If she ran like a dream then I might just do this mod. I just didn't want it burning out on me too fast or how good it is long term. If it was just going to burnout within the year I was just gonna pay for the brand name, you know? Thank you though.
@@immbatman i appreciate it brotha! And I have a buddy that bought one years ago and it still kicking lol. So it’s not a bad buy. It’ll save you basically $100-$120.

O definitely I’ve watched them all lol. I’m thinking of making some restoration videos on it
BEARDED CAT Guitar many people like to see that stuff! I know I do
Thank you very very very much😊
nice 1, made it very simple
The 'round' connectors work better, dont distort, slip-off the side etc.Enjoyed your video .Dave, NZ, 81 XV1000, TR1, 84 XV1000 TR1 and a 'baby' xs650
Great video!

Likewise brother. Also, that’s the “cheap” version of the Harley coil. Its like $40-$50. Which isn’t bad. Im not sure how much is OEM.
Thank you for the tutorial!
Tai Nguyen thanks for watching!! Anything to help
is the wiring the same for the 1100? awesome video btw

One of them has to have it for sure. That’s how I was taught. Either the cables or the plug
@@lui1760 thank you, I appreciate it!
Cool video
Is it works on xv 535?
Yes, just find the wire that has constant 12v
Any updates? Still running strong?
Sadly, I had to sell it. My wife needed surgery and I had to move state. But she ran like a freaking dream, man.

Do you have a link to the coil you used? I’m up for saving some money instead of buying the accel one. Thanks for the vid too 👌
All about saving, brotha!
