Just imagine the scenes and reactions if he just randomly shows up one episode, totally unannounced beforehand. Like a passing by scene like what Ash and Alain had or something. Wouldn't want it anytime soon though, maybe in a few years when Horizons has truly established itself

I must say that this was one of the best performances that Liko has given so far. And if she was assigned to either Kofu or Tullip with this then i was assured that she would be passed. But no she was assigned to Grusha who has this attitude on her. Liko was Doomed from the start. This was unfair to her and a insult to the other Gym leaders and to all the challengers

I think for me I will say it’s the same universe for now, just let Horizons follow their own story until it’s confirmed. But It would be nice to see Ash at least around 16 or 18, they can do a similar approach like from Inazuma Eleven GO where Mark/Endou appears as an grown up or Beyblade Zero-G/Shogun Steel where Gingka appears as an grown up. PokeSpe/Pokemon Adventures did brought back a few of their old characters in newer generations so I would like to see the Pokémon anime doing the same thing in Horizons

Like back then, I took Horizons as the "camera" simply being featured on someone else this time. Whether he exists or not, Ash doesn't have to be interconnected to everything. It makes the world feel smaller in that regard.

I think they've done a smart move by keeping it vague until it matters, if it ever does. Coz if we had confirmation without them doing a proper crossover, all we'd get online is "When is Ash gonna return?" "Why wasn't Ash here??" etc. I personally am sure we'll get an old character crossing over with the HZ cast one day, but it's still far too early, yeah it's been over a year since Ash's saga ended but i feel like we're still years down the road from that. One day though, hopefully

Really enjoyed this one, especially after so many crappy episodes lately (i didnt like the dot vs larry episode that much and the roy vs rhyme 2 parter was painfully eh). I like that Liko didn't get some bs "you lost but good effort so you passed!," she lost and actually has to deal with the consequences. I love how Grusha was portrayed, his strictness was a nice change of pace and i feel like his "don't joke about passing when you lost" ideology is the same that i have as part of the audience, lol. Anyway i'm super curious about the future, I could see Liko getting a rematch but i think it'd be really interesting if she doesn't, we could get a cool arc about her coming back from being behind the other protagonists (kinda like Dawn coming back from her losing streak in DP), and if she's not allowed to Tera then maybe it could open the door to her getting another battle gimmick in the future like Mega Evolutions for example Anyway, 7/10 from me too, overall i'm satisfied with this episode. Looking forward to the Amethio plotline coming up!

Horizons is proving itself to be a good series with its distinctions and uniqueness. I think you’re right about there being maybe some indication about the universes being linked, but this series is doing a good job at misting things between them 😂🥲 guess we’ll wait and see. Great video bro ❤️🫡

I'm thinking if they do take place in a different universe, could there be a chance that the rivals who only appeared in the games, will appear in the anime? I know that Jimmy, the main protagonist of Gen 2, appeared in Chronicles, but he made his debut in Pokémon Journeys, however Silver, his main rival, appeared only in the Japanese opening. And Kabu appeared in Pokémon Horizons, but made his game debut in Sword and Shield.

If they did exist in the same universe, we’d have some sort reference to him by now. It’s highly doubtful to me by now that Horizons is in the same universe. We may never get a true answer unfortunately. But personally, it’s time to move on. What else can Ash do without it being repetitive?

To me, whether it takes place in the same universe or not doesn't matter. What matters is that I love Horizons and it's some of the best the anime has ever been.

In Masters 8 that should have been in Group format 4 champions each group and winner of each group clash in direct finals I mean it was final Pokemon league of Classic series so they should have give 15-18 episodes Grp-A) Leon, Diantha, Iris and Steven Grp-B) Ash, Lance, Cynthia and Alain In different stadiums across regions not only Wyndon

Why else would the horizon series avoid showcasing older characters that were introduced in the games, such as previous gym leaders or previous gen professors, such as Professor Oak, the greatest researcher in the pokemon world. Nurse joy is the nod that Ash exist within this universe, since she is an anime exclusive character tied to the main anime continuity.

No it hasn't. It's established itself as a poor imitation of the old formula, even reusing several well established plots.

I really hope that just one day he comes back. Pokemon DID NOT bring their A game to his ending so I feel like that can't be the last time we see him, but i don't want him to return as a major character.

Likely different universes We already see it with Origin where Red exist and Universe Ash exist are not same Clue why it's not same universe -none of people in school of Kanto where liko once there was even mentioned about World Champion from Kanto -Roy never say anything about World champion from Kanto -Dot Uncle never talked about Alola champion that became World Champion when Volttackler visited Kanto -Dot never talked about world champion from kanto when they visited kanto which strange for Social influencer like her to never talked about it as Nidothing -when they find out about Explorers they never even say about notorious criminals gangs in Kanto (Team Rocket) even once -no appearance of Officer Jenny when they visited any cities which quite strange since she one of two Character that existed everywhere in Ash universe

Me personally, I don’t think Horizons takes place in the same dimension as the Ash anime, but I could be wrong, I’m sticking with this for now but when we eventually do get more evidence I’ll change my mind on it.

Yeah great at setting up the new formula, yet the viewership and recognition of the anime has dropped significantly. I hope Ash returns, because honestly I could care less about the Horizons plot especially since none of the characters are fun to watch. Wanted to add another thing that I have zero faith in the anime writers especially after how they made Ash leave the anime and how they have made Horizons.

I still hope that Ash comes back and of course once and for all proving it's still the same universe. Am I not wrong on that Niall Kelly?

I don’t think it’s in the same universe and I don’t want it to be ether. The only way I even want ash back is if he is an adult with lei as a kid and if everyone grows up that means they get new VA which is really hard to bring back. So have them in separate universes and only bring ash and friends back thru portals.

I actually want Liko to grow more and not easily pass the test. Because the way she battles definitely shows how much she's grown in the series, and I don't want the passing grade dilute the golden opportunity to make herself a better battler. They really made good use of Grusha in this Episode, by roughing up her feathers to do better to see fulfilling results from winning battles. 8/10 Bonuce Points for the ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE Certoddle cameos!!!! it was basic a Perfect Episode for me.❤🤣

The subs made a crucial error this time around context wise, saying that Liko had the advantage when she Terastallized. She didn't. She simply had a better match up since Grass VS Ice is 0.5x effective while VS Dragon/Flying it quad-resists.

Is it weird that I kinda LIKE the fact that Grusha failed Liko because she lost? I'm gonna be honest, I do not like that Liko and Dot passed their previous tests without winning. I UNDERSTAND that winning is not the point of these tests, but at the same time I personally do not feel satisfied that they passed without winning. Plus I think that Liko and Dot need more wins under their belt in general.

When it comes to the HZ trio's 1st Caught Pokemon's 1st Official Battles, I'd probably say Hattrem did the best out of Kilowattrel & Tinkatink. Her Confusion-controlled Icicle Spear Sendback & Spinning Collision between Ice Spinner & Brutal Swing were pretty good! And I definitely do hope that the opportunity arises for Another Liko vs Grusha to happen again given the next lineup of eps, so I'm on the edge of my seat in hopes that a silver lining of a comeback arises (I'd love it if it turns out that Geeta magically shows up & turns Grusha into an anxious worrywart when he's around her and makes him reconsider what he's done given he's so scared of La Primera) - And all I can say in the end after this episode is that Grusha might have just added another new reason as to why he is one of my least favorite of Paldea Gym Leaders!!

My prediction is that she'll get another chance with him, since they promoted him a decent bit early on in, I don't think this will be the last we see of him, especially with the next few episodes focusing on the Explorers. I'm thinking that, since we see the kids having trouble with their phones, they'll realize that Spinel was involved and maybe go to Grusha for help, especially considering Spinel's mindwiping antics from before. (Like, you do that to a child on an icy mountain, and she could very well die. Spinel doesn't hesitate to hurt people, we saw that when he tried to have his Magneton attack Dot directly.) Or perhaps he catches sight of her battle on his own, since we saw him wandering in the mountains, he might watch her battle with them, realize the gravity of her situation and give her another shot.

Liko should get a fire, fighting, and and/or steel type to defeat the ice type gym leader.
